Let me be a mob! - Chapter 3- Being a rogue!
After leaving the mansion and beating up my brothers, I ran away without using my skill since I knew there were not many individuals who might track me down. I did use levitation from time to time to throw away any kind of trail so I was assured that even if Baroness Julia wants to kill me, she would have a hard time locating me.
‘Hah…I became a rogue at the end huh….’
I know once the Baron hears about Troy and Arthur he would cut off every tie with me since he was more or less finding such a reason to disown me.
As I mentioned before, there are thousands of Hero candidates out there but only some make it to the higher end of society through their sheer hard work and background. The old Jin was neither a hard worker nor was he supported by anyone. So for the Baron, I was better off as a dead person.
But I couldn’t care less since I knew I would do something about my survival and once I enter the Academy they would take care of me like a VIP guest.
“Let’s see…”
After making a quick survey through [Mana detection] I landed my feet under a cliff to see the things available in Arthur’s storage ring. My detection skill was still newbie level but I could at least search up to the distance where the enemy won’t be able to ambush me.
In figures, it would be 200 meters with me as its center.
“Hmm…Sword…wands…hmm?”
There were not many things as I expected but enough for my survival for some days.
There was a pouch of gold coins which approximately would be five hundred in quantity. This pouch was the prominent asset I have right now since with money half of my problems would be sorted.
This world works on 1: 100 ratios when it comes to currency. And the succession goes like Copper> Silver> Gold> Platinum> Bramium.
Bramium is the highest degree of currency which is extracted from a very rare ore and can be converted into weapons if traded with some skilled blacksmiths. Since it was not something I can afford to look for in the small time I have, I would make do with these gold coins.
Other than the coin pouch, there were two swords without any skill attached whatsoever. There were some mana and stamina recovery potions but not to the point I can use them carelessly. I was hoping to get some artifacts from the ring, but on the name of artifact, I got perfume and other grooming products.
‘Can I even sell them…well, whatever.’
I have no interest in personal grooming, especially when I was in such a condition and was planning such life-risking goals.
“Let’s get started.”
I wasn’t hungry or tired and the small rest under the cliff more or less bottled up my used-up mana.
“Hupp!”
After a couple of steps, I bounced off the ground and started levitating forward. My current plan was to leave this forest which extends up to two hundred kilometers and reach the nearest town.
The district where Baron Carter has his jurisdiction spread ends with the next town, so crossing the neighboring settlement holds my priority.
This whole kingdom was vast but being a Baron he was not given much land to rule on, which was fortunate for me. However, the next destination I was intending to go to was not as safe as my old man’s town.
To gain the favor of Spirits I need to partake in a ritual and for that, I need a specific book placed in a tightly secured library in a far-off place. I need that book then fly to the temple where I would get connected with those tiny things and boom, I wouldn’t be the same as I was currently.
But that was farfetched since currently I do not possess enough strength to infiltrate the library to get that book. That was why I was going to this next town name Mengalf.
Mengalf is the place where I would find an artifact that would help me to enter the library without a fuss and steal that book with ease. If I fail to obtain that artifact then I might have to postpone my plan to get connected with the spirits.
But I was not concerned since the protagonist and his harem members would focus on Spirits rather in the latter part of the story. And it was not even the protagonist who takes the spiritual blessings so I wasn’t much concerned about shifting the plot.
“Fuck…this it…?”
I felt my mana nearing its bottom even though I used levitation for half an hour. But the fact I covered fifty kilometers at such pace and height was no joke either. Since my path was unobstructed I was able to cross to a decent extent.
It would take another hour or so for my mana to refill so until then I have no choice but to run through this wilderness.

“KHRUUUGH”
Stabbing the wild boar with the sword I had in the storage ring, I brought an end to its life. It was rather easy to kill wild animals as long I can keep the surprise element intact.
It has been five hours since I left the mansion and soon it would be time for dawn, but despite being at the border of the forest I decided to take a rest.
Reason?
The next town I had to pass was heavily guarded and from the looks of it, it seemed they were fanatically looking for someone. There were a lot of archers stationed as well signifying they were expecting some flying target.
I do hope I was overthinking but I have a feeling that those preparations are done for me. I didn’t take chance and hid myself in the forest to have a good rest before I could proceed further. If I have my whole mana reserve filled to the brim, I can lift myself more than regularly. Maybe up to fifty feet in height but it will only last long for ten minutes and I have to chug one or maybe two mana potions.
It was a big sacrifice since I have only three mana potions and two stamina potions but I can’t get caught with the city patrol at this point. If they are really looking for me, then there is a high chance I might get imprisoned for a long time.
And I have neither any intention to get stalled nor have the strength to fight my way through the perimeters. I have to escape and levitating through seemed the best option I have.
‘But…is it really the Baron who gave such an alert warrant?’
I have a feeling that it might be Gilbert who was misusing his name to get me captured but I don’t care about it. For me, the whole Carter family is the same.
‘Mmm…it tastes good…just a little bit of salt is missing…’
Feasting on the meat which I have been cooking over the campfire, I enjoyed the peaceful times I had.
After leaving the forest, who knows what might unfold and not talk about the academy where my real problems will begin to appear. Despite not wanting to get involved with the main cast, I have a bad feeling that I will be dragged into undesirable circumstances.
‘Well, whatever happens…I just have to live through all the shit…’
