Let me be a mob! - Chapter 16- Was it him?
[Jin’s Pov:]
After having a security inspection at the second checkpoint, I was told to report at the third physical assessment center where all the Levitation awakeners would be giving their practical test.
I was aware of these formalities which was why I discarded everything which could have related me to the Black Mamba Organization. The spatial ring which I gained from my brother when I was leaving the mansion along with some clothes were packed in my bag.
I have kept the Shapeshifting artifact in a safe place and would retrieve it when the time comes. The poison and dagger of the Mamba Organization despite being valuable were grounded in the dirt since I no longer required them with my current arsenal.
In the past months, I not only have exponentially grown but also gained some treasures from my dear teacher. The proof of my growth was inscribed over my status plate which had recordings like this :
Name: Jin Carter
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Affinity: Light
Attribute: Leviatation
Rank : D
Student Rank: N/A
Pts: 0
***
Yeah, I was now ranked D just on the basis of mana reserve which I have paid attention to ever since I gained the support of these tiny little things hovering around me. Though most of the contribution goes to my master who taught me ways to become more efficient with my training.
She was harsh yet all the things she taught were invaluable and necessary for me if I needed to face the challenges in order to pursue a peaceful future.
I had no words with my family ever since but it seems they were on my hunt from what I heard fleetingly from the people around Carter territory. But that doesn’t matter since I now have the confidence to defy the Carter lord if push comes to shove.
“Oh, it’s already happening.’
I muttered to myself as I saw a crowd of audience gathering at the side pavement of the outer courtyard of the academy as they mumbled and gossiped with their eyes glued to a single location.
The first incident between the protagonist and a minor villain…umm…yeah, Brat..or whatever his name was.
The scenario followed with the noble child feeling insulted by being laughed at by one of the heroines and was about to misbehave when the protagonist, Aiden jumps in and saves the day. It was the beginning of the hatred between the nobility and commoners which would further ignite as the story progresses.
‘Oh, it really is like the novel…’
As I saw the blond youngster whose name I heard was actually Brad *ahem*, I somehow felt amused to see the things I have only read about, transpiring right in front of my eyes.
“It’s high time for you to back away since you are clearly troubling the girl.” (Aiden)
The protagonist finally arrived as he stood between the Noble boy and the elven heroine who had her shroud downed in order to hide her ears. The crowd went abuzz upon seeing the dashing youngster with ruby-red eyes who was daring enough to stand against a Count’s son.
Just as described in the novel, Aiden was a charming young man despite being a commoner and a moderate height of 5’11 which was two inches shorter than me. His radiance was heavy enough that I could feel his surging mana from this afar. Or maybe it was my heightened senses since no one else seemed influenced at all.
I couldn’t discern entirely but from knowledge, Aiden should be in his D rank as well and had adequate battle experience considering the life he has seen until now.
‘And now he woud be-eh? Why is she there?’
My eyes went around as I was expecting the protagonist to slap Brad away like he was supposed to but suddenly a silver-haired girl appeared on the scene and berated the blondie.
Being a Duke daughter she naturally had higher status than Brad which resulted in the matter extinguishing without any event which I was waiting for.
‘I suppose I am the reason behind it…’
In the main story, Fiona was supposed to be cold and indifferent to others and the one who always minded her own business. The reason was ‘that’ incident which I prevented. So of course now things would be tending to shift because of my interference but I do not regret saving Fiona that day, even once.
With those thoughts, I was about to walk away and report to the physical assessment center just like others since the drama died down because of Fiona’s intervention. But suddenly every strand of my body stood straight as I felt a gaze darting in my direction.
Reflexively I turned my head and saw a pair of beautiful blue eyes staring at me suspiciously. However, the matter of fact was the person who was gazing at me was not someone I sould be meddling with that was why I pretended to be dazing off before I walked along the crowd and disappeared away.

[Fiona’s POV: ]
‘Was it my imagination…’
All the way from the front ground to her destination Fiona has been thinking about a specific boy she suddenly noticed from the group of random students.
At first, she had the urge to just throw her hesitation and walk up to him and quench her anxiety and desire to meet her savior if he was in form of a fellow student but she held back. It was true that having silver-grey hairs like her savior and those mesmerizing eyes were rare, or to say Fiona has yet to find anyone with the same aesthetics except for the boy she saw today, but that doesn’t mean she would let her inner desire control her movements.
She has to investigate first in order to see whether that boy really was the man who saved her that day or if he was just a lucky person to have the same features as her savior.
And such investigation would require time since in the academy she was nothing but a student with no power of a noble. She was eager but not foolish to jump on any man thinking that he was the same person who has made her night sleepless ever since.
‘Well, I have a lot of time to ensure…’
Shrugging her thoughts Fiona strolled toward the place where she has agreed to meet a special person on the first day but due to all the commotion she probably has arrived late. And seeing the expression on her friend’s face, Fiona couldn’t get assured more on her hunch.
“It’s about time you arrive…”

A/N:-Sorry for the short chapter. I would compensate in the next one and also the plot would slow down in order to give a proper introduction to the characters.
