Let me be a mob! - Chapter 14- Evaluation!
There are five total land divisions on the globe, and several kingdoms are situated in those pieces of land. Naturally, there were kings or queens ruling over those kingdoms through the passage of time and passing their lineage to their successors as time goes by.
The biggest continent of all is where the land of warriors, Inthaqar is situated. The kingdom has given birth to many legendary warriors who made their name in the golden history of humanity and were known as Brave Heroes.
Countless battles and changes Ithaqar along with other nations has gone through but still the foundation of the nation is still rigid and unmoving as ever. Compared to the other four-nation lying on the same continent, Inthaqar has been producing new next-generation warriors at the promptest pace and has been contributing to humanity at the widest scale.
Such reputation the nation has maintained throughout the generation then it was because of the central academy the nation takes pride in.
Excalius Academy of Elites.
The Academy which has been founded by the first King of the nation and also one of the Seven Great warriors of the First great war. The Academy has retained its glory by providing the tutelage and education required to make a hero candidate worthy to become a noble cause for mankind.
Only those who awaken their Light attribute are allowed to enroll in the academy and get taught under the best of the instructors. They were provided with necessities and given a suitable environment to grow up in a fruitful way so they could become someone worthy and recognizable in the future.
The reason why only selected students are enrolled despite many influential and powerful clans demanding their child in the Academy was simple. The limited teachers and instructors narrow down the student list to those who actually have the potential to become true heroes.
The elite teaching unit doesn’t grows on trees and admitting hundreds of useless young master and their lackey for the greed of some extra gold was not something the Central Government or the headmaster of the Academy could ever allow or tolerate.
Ensuring the best for every child who gets educated for the three prime years of a student’s life, the Excalius Academy strives to deliver humanity with their saviors and nurture those youth who once again would prove that light was and always would be superior to darkness.

It was the first day in Excalius academy and just like everyone Jin was also standing in the queue of new enrollers to get his status plate and other necessities. The line wasn’t long since there were not many light awakeners this year or maybe this was the norm? Jin was leaning on the prior.
For the last four months, he has been training in his spiritual arts along with martial arts. For the prior, he was self-sufficient since spirituality only required his consistency and how well he was getting along with the spirits.
He was only able to get contracted the Water and Wind spirits after his prayer that night but that was enough. And not like he wouldn’t be able to connect with the others. Jin primarily thought he would be able to get in contact with only one spirit so this much was already too fulfilling for him.
For some reason after that night of prayer and sacrifice, he was able to see spirits around him and speak their language. It was like he always had the knowledge but just unleashed that side of his mind.
Connecting with the spirits and practicing with their elements was everything Jin did from night to day. Once he open his eyes, he would call forth the spirits and practice his efficiency along with his normal mana practice as well. It wasn’t difficult and since the spirits liked it when someone paid attention ot them, the task became slightly enjoyable as well., but it poured a heavy burden on his body in the initial phase.
Time after time Jin got used to the sensation and slowly without him realizing he was already at that phase where his subconscious would make his mind initiate basic spells and help him with his spiritual side. He was now able to cast some decent spell in the span of two months he gave completely to the Spirits.
He was happy with the progress and such but he knew it would be problematic to show his spiritual arts to others until it really doesn’t get dire. The reason was simple. Other than elves very countable humans should be aware of the Spiritual arts and Jin being one of them would highly raise attention and suspicion as well.
So in that realization, Jin gave his remaining time to his physical attribute and met one of the greatest warriors he was aware of, from his knowledge of his previous life. It wasn’t easy to get ‘her’ attention but after sacrificing things and two, he was able to jump into hell which was labeled as ‘training’.
Jin has forgotten how many times his bones broke or he faced severe concussions or how many times he returned from the verge of death in that period but at the end of the day, he was always able to learn things which surely made the hardship worthy.
“Next: Jin Carter.”
Jin pulled himself out of his reverie as he heard the man standing outside of the Evaluation Center entrance calling for him.
He nodded and walked in without any further ado.
Once inside he was met with a glass-wearing blue-haired lady wearing the formal witch robe over her shoulder and a courteous smile on her thin lips. By her looks, it could be said she was not the one who takes her job as a burden which helped Jin relax a bit as he moved to the counter.
There was no one allowed inside the Evaluation room other than the one in charge and two guards standing at the corner of the room wearing Capital soldier guards with a sun emblem marked at the center of their metal vest.
Jin evaluated those two and was surprised to see them being in D rank. It was not he was taking the two soldiers as weaklings rather the teacher who they were supposed to protect was fucking monster in front of them with an aura of A-rank.
‘Why the heck she needs protection…’
“If you are eager mister Jin which you naturally seem, then those two there are supposed to throw out the students who dare misbehave. Not to protect me.”
The lady replied as she read Jin’s expression which was not new for students to wonder but it wasn’t regular as well. Very less students have such calmness to inspect the room or have the skill of Mana detection to the level of deciphering her own level.
In a way, the lady was already impressed by the boy, not to talk about the history she has heard about.
‘A rogue living away from his family for six months yet able to achieve such aura means only one thing…’
The lady was aware that the Carter family is chasing Jin for six months. It was the norm for the academy to keep tabs on their hero candidates so it wasn’t surprising for her to know about Jin’s history but what made her brows raise was how skillfully he was able to suppress his mana which was undoubtedly high for someone of Jin’s age.
‘In raw mana capacity…this boy…no, he still weak compared to ‘him’…’
The lady shooed away her useless thought regarding another student who got evaluated some moments ago, as she asked Jin to put his hand on a white orb which would create his status tab.
The orb shined as it sucked Jin’s tiny bit of mana and began the inscription on the rectangular plate of 50×30 cm. The letters on the tablet wrote his name, class, Hero attribute, and basic information. His skills weren’t mentioned since mana capacity could not define one’s true potential.
Jin was thankful that Spiritual energy didn’t alter anything from the norm and his status plate was imprinted without any abnormality.
“Here is a small card of your identification which you can use to enjoy the services of the academy. Please don’t lose it since it takes a thousand gold coins to re-make the card and an application of apology. You understand?”
Jin gulped and nodded since the astronomical amount he heard was enough to remind him how precious his identity card was.
Seeing the indifference on the student’s face fading, the lady smirked as she told him the further procedure.
“Good, now go through that door where your things would be inspected and necessary materials and your uniform would be provided. Best of luck with your practical assessment ~”
Jin nodded when a sudden thing shot into his mind as he remembered something he nearly forgot in between all those things happening the past few weeks.
‘If my memory serves right…then that event should be taking place anytime soon…’

A/N:- We would be meeting the protagonist in the next chapter. One thing I would like to clarify is the future behavior of Jin. He wouldn’t be taking shit from others but wouldn’t be killing people just because he gets insulted. He would try to be a mob but not for long since being in the background with that much potential was impossible from the start.
So sorry for the hardcore mob fans.
Drop a comment if you are excited about the next chapter~
