Let me be a mob! - Chapter 115- I will be back soon
*Knock* *Knock*
“I am coming in.”
The silvery shine of the moon penetrated the darkroom as a beautiful woman with golden blond hair walked into Fiona’s room.
She was holding a tray in her hand with numerous dishes placed on it. By her appearance, one could tell that she was a noble woman and the concern her eyes were brimming with signified her closeness to the person who was lying on the bed.
Sienna Lukehart was momentarily stunned to see the pile of clothing resting over the bed and her daughter, lying underneath the pile with a solemn expression.
These clothes…Sienna knew whose clothes these were.
‘Fortunately, her father didn’t see her in this manner…’ Remembering her husband’s temper, Sienna heaved a sigh and after placing the tray on the table, she first closed the doors.
“Fiona, get up. You haven’t eaten anything for days and I won’t let this continue any longer.”
She deliberately used a firm tone despite not wanting to. Sienna knew her daughter had recently faced a tragic incident where she could have lost her life….and also that Fiona lost someone close to her in that confrontation.
It was clear like the sun on a summer afternoon, that Fiona was dating that person whom the Crimson Demon abducted. Further investigation Sienna did through her networks, told her that he was the same person who saved Fiona and many of her classmates during the representative selection test.
From what Sienna had obtained Fiona had been dating Jin for some months now and was quite attached to him—indicating why Fiona was so down after his disappearance.
“Mother…please leave me alone. I will eat when I-”
“Do you want to die before seeing your lover again?”
Sienna’s statement visibly startled her daughter as Fiona jerked and looked at her mother with wide eyes.
Sienna continued, “We both know that he still is alive. After all, if that criminal named Madonna wanted to kill him then why she would have kidnapped him? And if Jin is alive then he must be finding a way to get back to you, no?”
Sienna’s words held some credibility even though she made up these statements just right on the spot. However, thankfully, it seemed to be working for her daughter as Fiona slowly got herself up.
Sienna sat beside her daughter and placed the tray on her lap. Placing some porridge in the spoon she brought it to Fiona’s lips as the older one said,
“Listen, Fiona…I know how it feels to be separated from the person you love so much. Just one day after I married your father he went to war. I was uncertain whether he would even return…but he did. I know. I might sound superficial but it seems my prayer worked and he returned safely, with only a few scratches inflicted.”
“That’s why…” Placing the porridge in Fiona’s mouth, she concluded, “…never lose hope. If you love someone from your heart then I am sure your voice will reach that person.”
[You are right about that, Lady Sienna.]
*Clink*
Suddenly the spoon from Sienna’s hand dropped to the ground in surprise as she and Fiona heard a voice out of nowhere.
While Sienna looked shocked, Fiona suddenly jumped on her feet and nearly shouted,
“Jin?! Is that you?!”
The stark contrast between the gloomy Fiona a moment ago and the person Sienna was witnessing right now was quite palpable.
[Yes, it’s me, Fiona. I am currently connected to you through Spirits….but this connection won’t last long. So umm…can you…..]
“I am leaving.” Sienna understood Jin’s concern and why has was hesitating that’s why she got up from the bed and called out
[…sorry and thank you.]
Fiona thankfully looked at her mother as she remained standing on her bed with tears building in her eyes. However, those tears were more because of relief and elation.
As Sienna walked out of the room, the only wish she left behind was her daughter’s happiness.

“Jin! Where are you?”
Although she knew it was pointless to look around and try finding him when he was connected to her through Spirits, Fiona was restlessly looking around to at least have a glimpse of his.
[I am in the Demon realm and currently held captive by the Succubus Queen, Alzeith.]
Her eyes widened in shock as she asked, “One of the seven monarchs? Why?”
It was ridiculous to hear that Jin would get abducted only to be locked by the Succubus queen. Was it because of Jin’s unnatural strength or was it because of his spiritual contact?
Regardless of the reason, Fiona was determined to save him from the demon realm.
[… it might sound a little absurd but the demon queen is…um..is someone I used to date in the past.]
A very lengthy pause ensued between the two as Fiona heard those words.
Fiona’s lips were parted but she failed to utter anything. Even the phrase ‘You are joking, right?’ never escaped her throat as she stood in complete stupefaction.
[…I know you can’t register everything so quickly but I told you this all of a sudden since I didn’t want you to worry about me. Even though I am being held here, I won’t be harmed.]
“But then…when can I see you?”
Fiona decided to not dwell on that matter for now. Her current priority lay in seeing Jin again and ensuring that he is completely fine…beside her.
There was a brief delay in his response,
[I can’t say for sure how long will it take me to return but please be rest assured. I will definitely come back soon.]
“You know it is impossible for me to not worry until I don’t see you, right?”
Fiona’s tone was a lot dimmer compared to the time when she heard his voice for the first time.
The fact that they were able to talk to each other was quite a relief for her but as she said, she wouldn’t be able to calm down until he didn’t appear before her.
[Fiona…please be a little patient. I know what must be going on with you and trust me, not even an hour goes by when I don’t think about you. However, I need some time. So please, be a good girl and wait for me, okay?]
“*sniff*…whom are you *sniff* calling a good girl?”
Tears trailed down her cheeks as she realized that she couldn’t see him anytime soon. However, unlike before Fiona wasn’t emotionally broken. A new flame of hope has appeared amidst the great darkness of loneliness and despair.
His melodious chuckle reached her ears, allowing her head to settle down a little.
After a moment of silence from either end, it was Jin who spoke up,
[I love you, Fion-]
However, the connection was abruptly shot down from the other side startling Fiona.
“Ehh? What just happened?”
Fiona would never know that it wasn’t Jin who disconnected the communication…rather the person who had been hearing their conversation since the start.
