Chapter 29 – The VIP Suite in Hell
Sparks rained from shattered conduits.
The hallway reeked of ozone and regret. Block 12 looked like a blender hit it. Twisted metal groaned under emergency lights. Sarah huddled against the wall, her grad-student form disheveled, skirt torn, eyes wide with that mix of guilt and hunger.
Director Esdeath paced, her heels clicking like gunfire. Frost rimed her fingertips. She gripped her tablet so hard the screen cracked.
“We can’t house her here anymore.”
Her voice cut sharp, eyes darting to the breached cell door.
“This was a Level 5. Maximum security protocols failed.”
I rubbed my temples. Headache throbbed from the breach alarms. Coffee waited upstairs, cold now. Sarah peeked at me, biting her lip, form flickering at the edges.
“Standard cells won’t cut it.”
Esdeath spun toward me, ice-blue eyes narrowing.
“Evans, suggest something. Now.”
I straightened, ignoring the debris crunch under my boots. Sarah’s breath hitched. She looked small, vulnerable, but I knew better. Her kind fed on fear. Time to end the circus.
“She’s moving to The Basement.”
Esdeath blinked. Guards exchanged glances. Sarah’s form shivered, heat radiating off her skin despite the chill.
“The Basement? That’s not a thing.”
I stepped forward, boots echoing. No point explaining Dad’s genes to her. Not now. Sarah uncurled slightly, watching me like prey.
“Trust me. It’s perfect for her.”
Esdeath’s jaw tightened. She gestured at the guards. They backed off, hands on tasers. Smart. But useless.
“You’re taking responsibility?”
I nodded once. Sarah’s eyes lit up, form pressing closer to the wall. Her skirt rode up, accidental-on-purpose.
“Damn right.”
I crossed the rubble in three strides. Grabbed her wrist. Soft skin, then something firmer beneath, shifting like warm clay. She gasped, body leaning into my grip. Heat bloomed where we touched.
No one argued. Esdeath just watched, arms crossed, frost creeping up her sleeves.
I tugged Sarah toward the emergency stairwell. Her pulse raced under my fingers. Fast. Too fast.
“Let’s go, trouble.”
She stumbled after me, form molding against my arm. The door clanged shut behind us. Esdeath’s voice faded into static.
Down we went.
Endless stairs spiraled into the sub-basement. Damp concrete stung my nose, mixed with rust and forgotten oil. Bulbs flickered yellow, casting long shadows. My legs burned after the twentieth landing. Why no elevator? Budget cuts, probably. Sarah clung tighter, her body heat cutting the chill. Breasts pressed soft against my side, shifting with each step. Shapeshifter perks. Or curse.
Her breath ghosted my neck, hot and ragged. Fingers intertwined with mine, squeezing.
“Kai… are you mad at me?”
I kept descending, ignoring the sweat beading on my forehead. Mad? Nah. Exhausted, yeah. Her form rippled, thighs brushing my leg, skirt hiking higher. Clingy much?
“Not mad. Just upgrading your lease.”
She whimpered, pressing closer. Her free hand trailed my chest, nails light through the uniform. Skin cooled now, then warmed, testing boundaries. Yandere logic at work—punishment equaled attention.
“Private place? Just for me?”
Whisper slid like silk. Stairs blurred under my feet. Echoes bounced off walls, amplifying her words. My arm tingled where she touched, energy syncing weirdly. Dad’s immunity blocked harm, but this? Intimate buzz.
“Only I get in. No visitors.”
She shivered, form undulating. Hips swayed into me, deliberate. Heat pooled low, contrasting the cold air. Her scent shifted—vanilla, then musk, tailored to me.
“You’re so strong when you’re serious.”
I snorted, grabbing the rail. Another flight down. Lungs burned. This place predated the facility, maintenance shaft for who-knows-what. Dust motes danced in dim light. Sarah’s breath quickened, chest heaving against my side. Nipples hardened under thin fabric—ecchi alert.
“Flattery won’t speed this up.”
She nuzzled my shoulder, lips brushing collar. Form softened, molding like liquid warmth. Legs tangled briefly with mine on a step. Nearly tripped us both.
“But it feels good. Being dragged by you.”
Internal groan hit hard. Why her? Why now? Thalia freezes sectors. Loki pranks reality. Sarah? Emotional blackmail via cleavage. Stairwell narrowed, air thicker. Footsteps echoed solo now—hers silent, floating almost.
“Almost there. Hang on.”
She squeezed my hand harder. Form stabilized into perfect grad student—messy hair, full lips parted, eyes glassy. Aroused. Definitely. My power hummed under skin, responding. Basement called.
Dead end loomed.
Rough concrete wall, no door. Chains rusted on hooks, relics from old days. Dim bulb buzzed overhead, shadows pooling at our feet. Sarah pressed full against me now, back to the wall, wrists still pinned in my grip. Her heart hammered, syncing mine. Void itched in my chest, Dad’s gift waking up. Time to flex.
I released her wrist. Stepped back. She whined, reaching out.
“Stay put.”
Eyes locked on the wall. Immunity wasn’t passive block. Push reality. Bend nothing into something. Or nothing at all. Palm pressed flat against stone. Energy surged, cool and vast. Like breathing deep in vacuum. Wall rippled, ink-black tear blooming. Edges frayed, sucking light. Pure void—sensory blackout, endless dark. Tasted like me inside. Clean. Impenetrable.
Sarah gasped. Form flickered wildly—tentacles, then curves, then her. She leaned toward the rift, inhaling deep.
“What… is that?”
My voice stayed calm. Power thrummed steady, no sweat. Wall groaned as void widened, ten feet across now. Stars winked at edges, wrong ones. Only I saw them.
“Your new suite. Block Zero. The Oubliette.”
She stepped closer, fingers brushing the edge. Void pulled gentle, hungry for her. Her skin glowed faint, resonating. Eyes widened, pupils dilating black.
“It’s you. Pure you.”
Spot on. Wove my essence in. Prison of Kai-energy. She couldn’t escape—too addictive. Guards outside? Blind to it. Esdeath? No clue.
“Only I have the key.”
Void hummed low, vibrating floor. Sarah moaned soft, body arching. Form melted at edges, flowing toward the tear. Breasts heaved, skirt vanished into wisps, revealing smooth thighs pressing together. Heat rolled off her in waves.
“No one hears you. Sees you. Reaches you.”
She turned to me, face flushed, lips wet. Hands clutched my shirt, pulling close. Void reflected in her eyes—mirrored obsession.
“A cage made of you? It’s perfect.”
I gripped her shoulders. Firm. She melted under touch, body going liquid-warm. Rift pulsed, ready. Her scent enveloped me—me, somehow. Twisted love.
“Time to settle in.”
She nodded frantic, eyes never leaving mine. Form stabilized one last time—naked now? No, illusion skirt clung sheer. Pressed full frontal, hips grinding subtle. Breath hitched hot on my neck.
“Kiss for the road?”
Tempting. Nope. Pushed her back gentle but firm. Void swallowed her gasp, pulling her in. She went willing, blissful smile spreading. Legs kicked playful before darkness took her.
Rift snapped shut. Wall solid again. Blank concrete. No trace.
Power receded, leaving mild buzz. Like after gym. Sarah safe. Facility saved. Headache worse.
I turned, stairs mocking me. Uphill slog awaited. Coffee still cold, probably.
Esdeath waited topside, arms crossed tight. Guards flanked her, faces pale. Frost coated the stairwell door—her nerves. She scanned me head to toe, eyes lingering weird. Impressed? Terrified? Both.
“Done?”
Her voice pitched higher than usual. I nodded, brushing dust off uniform. Void echo faded in my veins. Felt good, actually. Underused muscle.
“Locked down. No breaches.”
She exhaled sharp, tablet trembling in grip. Guards murmured low. One dropped his flashlight—clatter echoed.
“Where? How?”
Void stayed secret. Family thing. Shrugged casual.
“Personal space. Works fine.”
Esdeath stepped closer, heels sharp. Eyes searched mine, ice melting slight. Jealousy flickered—wanted that power? Or me using it?
“Show me next time.”
I sidestepped toward the hallway. Debris crunched fresh. Coffee called louder than drama.
“Maybe. Can I finish my coffee now?”
She froze, mouth opening silent. Guards stared slack-jawed. Frost receded from walls. Victory lap skipped.
Stairs had wrecked me. But worth it. Sarah blissed out in my void. Facility intact. One less headache. For now.
Esdeath trailed me up, questions burning. Ignored them. Elevator worked finally—who cared.
Coffee waited. Black. Strong. Normalcy in a mug.
Grabbed it from the break room. Lukewarm slosh. Still better than chaos. Sarah’s whisper echoed faint in my head—happy cage. Yandere win.
Shift dragged on. Reports piled. But Block Zero hummed content.
Tomorrow’s problem. Tonight? Bed. No calls. Please.
Thalia’s cell light glowed distant down the hall. Loki’s laughter trickled faint. Routine beckoned.
Sipped slow. Let exhaustion settle. Another day survived. Highkey miracle.
