I Tried Pulling When Pushing My Childhood Friend Didn’t Work, and It Totally Broke Me Inside - Chapter 9
Day four of being locked up. The handcuffs still feel weird, but whatever.
Today, I feel good.
Even at breakfast, the omelet rice tastes better than usual.
That’s because today, I finally got to go outside.
It’s been four days since I was locked up, and now the moment has come.
Alright, I’m ready.
“Yuna, let’s go!”
“You’re excited.”
“Of course! I finally got out of here!”
“Get out?”
Uh-oh.
Yuna’s dark eyes are staring right at me.
I need to think fast…
“Daiki, did you hate being with me that much?”
“There’s no way. I want to be with you all the time.”
“Is that so?”
Her expression softens.
“Then let’s go?”
I reach for the front door, but.
“Wait a moment.”
“Hm?”
“Give me your hand.”
Ah, no, this is the handcuff moment…
I brace myself, but then I feel something warm in my hand.
“Huh?”
I’m holding hands with Yuna.
“What?”
“Eh? Um…”
“What? Do you mean you’d rather have the handcuffs? I don’t mind a collar either.”
“No, the hand is fine. Please, just hands.”
“Alright, then let’s go.”
I open the front door.
Finally, I can go outside.
“This is awesome.”
The outside feels amazing.
I always saw in manga how fresh air feels great, and now I really get it.
“Let’s go.”
“Um, Yuna, aren’t you holding my hand a little too hard?”
She’s been gripping my hand really tightly since a moment ago.
It actually hurts a little.
“It’s fine, it’s just normal.”
Is this normal?
“We’ll go back if you complain more.”
“Yes…”
I’d better not say anything more.
“First, we’re going to mother-in-law to get the marriage papers.”
“Oh, right.”
We head to my house next door.
I press the intercom, and my mom comes out.
“Welcome, Yuna-chan, you’re early. Daiki, long time no see.”
There’s a bit of a different vibe between Yuna and me.
“Good morning, mother-in-law. We came to get the marriage papers. We’re going to submit them now.”
“I see. Holding hands so nicely, how sweet~”
“It’s not really sweet… I think she’s just making sure I don’t run away.”
“Of course. And if you ever make Yuna-chan cry, you’re disowned.”
“I know.”
Even though this all started with being locked up, my feelings for Yuna haven’t changed. Marriage still feels a bit too soon, though…
“Here you go.”
“Thank you.”
I take the marriage papers. Yuna’s parents’ section is all filled out properly.
“What about your mom?”
“Ah~, Kaori is at work. I’ll tell her later.”
“Alright, then we’re off.”
“Have a good trip.”
On the way to the city office, Yuna didn’t let go of my hand for even a moment.
☆
We submitted the marriage papers at the city office.
“All set. There are no mistakes, so we’ll accept this.”
“Yes.”
“That completes the process. Congratulations on your marriage.”
“T-thank you.”
I really married Yuna.
I still can’t believe it at all.
