I Got Fired as a Hero Today - Vol.3 Chapter 94: The Curse of the Ancient Healer
Arata was watching a man and a woman running along a country road. It was as if he had the perspective of a god.
Arata observed the two of them.
One of them appears to be a man in his early twenties.
The appearance is Japanese. He is probably a hero summoned from another world.
Another one has pointed ears, silver hair, and brown skin. It’s a familiar sight in fantasy worlds—a dark elf. She is holding a baby wrapped in a swaddle.
Behind the two running figures. A village was burning bright red in the dark night.
“You! The village!”
“Damn it! They followed us all the way here!”
Breathing heavily, they didn’t stop their feet.
They were desperately fleeing from something.
Suddenly, an explosion occurred as it blocked their path. A deafening roar echoed, and dust obscured the surrounding view.
“Ahhh!”
“Aira! Are you okay?!”
The man rushed over to the dark elf named Aira. She was sitting on the ground, but she was firmly holding the baby in her arms.
“Yeah, I’m fine. How about you?”
“No problem, but…”
The man turned around.
“I never thought you were hiding in such a remote place, Ikuto. And to think you’ve mated with a dark elf female.”
A man who looked like a wizard stood there. Arata thought he looked familiar.
“My daughter Aisha was just born. Gary Oswald, you’re a human too, right? Come on, let it go.”
Gary Oswald. Compared to the great wizard Arata, he looks somewhat younger. He thought this was a past recording.
“That’s an impossible request. Ikuto, you have left the hero party. Therefore, you are subject to a bounty from the country. I also need research funds. This would be perfect for military expenses.”
Gary Oswald said calmly.
“Didn’t you guys summon me on your own!? Why should I risk my life for you!? Defeating the Demon King is no joke! Everyone died! Everyone!”
Ikuto shouted.
“Maybe you should have died back then? You don’t see any value in living on in shame.”
Gary Oswald said coldly.
“Don’t mess with me!”
Ikuto continued to shout, but his voice was drowned out by a scream.
“Aira?!”
When Ikuto turned towards the voice. Aira was lying on the ground, her legs severed.
“What…!”
Ikuto was speechless at the sight.
A swordsman was looking down at Aira.
His sharp gaze was both heated and utterly ruthless. Blood dripped from the tip of his sword.
“Isaac Gloria!! You bastard!!”
Ikuto screamed in rage. In that brief moment of distraction, it became a fatal mistake. Gary Oswald’s attack magic. Ikuto’s head flew off with a loud thud.
Damn it… that was Ikuto’s last thought.
Ikuto’s body collapsed.
“Y-you…”
Breathing heavily, Aira shed tears.
Then, she crawled towards the baby who had been thrown from her arms.
“Aisha… Aisha…”
She calls out the name of her beloved child.
Just as she was about to reach out, Gary Oswald swiftly grabbed the baby and lifted her up.
“Oh, is this the child born between you and Ikuto?”
He stared intently at the baby’s face with great curiosity.
“Give her back, just that child… Gah!”
Isaac Gloria stabbed his sword into Aira’s shoulder with a cruel expression.
He twisted the sword. Aira let out a painful scream.
“Isaac, this isn’t the time to be playing around. We’re in the Demon Kingdom. Let’s hurry back.”
“Huh? I just got a new toy. Let me have a bit more fun with it.”
“This toy will do.”
Gary Oswald shook the baby he had grabbed.
“Isn’t that your hobby? What do you like about collecting such things?”
“Don’t meddle in my preferences.”
“Same goes for me.”
He drew his sword.
“!! Ugh…”
Aira was on her last breath. Her vision was dark, and she could see nothing.
“Then, dark elf woman. Ikuto is waiting for you in the afterlife.”
He raised his sword.
However, that sword was never swung down.
A thunderous roar echoed, and Isaac Gloria’s body crumpled.
A massive pitch-black armor. That lump of iron came at high speed and swung its fist at Isaac Gloria.
Isaac Gloria’s body spun like a corkscrew, knocking down the trees of the forest, and flew far away.
“The Four Heavenly Demon Generals, Sibail Tia Black Knight!!”
Gary Oswald’s eyes widened in surprise.
An extraordinary aura emanated from his massive frame.
There was no chance of victory unless one were a hero.
He stepped back and raised his magical staff.
The Four Heavenly Demon Generals, Sibail Tia Black Knight, raised his right hand towards Gary Oswald.
By a hair’s breadth, the teleportation was successful, and Gary Oswald managed to escape.

“Ugh…!!”
When he came to, Arata found himself collapsed on the floor.
A cushion was placed under his head, and a blanket was draped over him.
“Are you awake? I couldn’t lift you by myself, so I had no choice but to leave you like that.”
Cornella apologized.
“What on earth is this? What did I just see?”
Arata was drenched in sweat.
“It’s the curse of the ancient healer.”
“A curse?”
Arata asked back.
“I’ve heard that. When using the ancient healer’s skill, one can see the subject’s past. It can be something from a time they don’t remember, or a series of past events like a revolving lantern, and it seems there are various patterns in which it can be seen.”
“I wish you had told me that sooner.”
His head is spinning.
“Also, for some reason, this skill can only be used on the opposite sex, so make sure to remember that.”
Cornella said with a mischievous smile.
“What kind of setting is that?”
Arata frowned, but he was glad that 103 Number was a girl.
