Chapter 35: Wreaking Havoc

All five members of Five Star (plus Selene-sama) and all five members of Eternal Force (minus one unconscious person) were facing each other. 

“I-Incredible… Eternal Force is a pretty good party, right?”

“Well, Harry-sama and Bern-sama are so busy that they don’t join their party activities much but when all five of them are together, they are the strongest party in this school.”

“Compared to them, Five Star is just a newly created party.”

“But didn’t Five Star show an incredible contribution during the recent Red Dragon incident?”

Ignoring the murmurs around us, I glared at Geese and Alan. 

Geese, the one with a larger build than the others, pointed at me as he shouted. 

“The way you’ve been acting recently is unacceptable!”

Geese gritted his teeth. 

“What do you mean by ‘unacceptable’?”

I asked.

“The mere existence of a commoner in Central Magic School is already unacceptable!”

Geese exclaimed, his nostril seemed to flare from how agitated he was.

“Geese-sama, I believe there’s no rule that prohibits commoners from enrolling into Central Magic School though?”

Jeff-sama answered. 

“It’s because commoners are weak! The school never expected them to enroll here in the first place!”

Geese retorted, his veins seemed close to popping.

But then, a familiar silver haired beauty appeared between us. 

“Geese-san, that’s not true.”

“What?!”

Without me realizing, Luna-sama had somehow found her way to my side. Geese looked taken aback as Luna-sama glared at him coldly. 

“This school values the strong ones and gives corresponding treatment to excellent students. That’s the ideology this school was built around. It has nothing to do with one’s title or rank.”

Maybe because there were many people gathering around us, but I could also see several student council members standing beside Luna-sama. 

Geese turned his attention at Luna-sama and snorted before he laughed scornfully. 

“Ahahaha….Hahahahaha!! How hilarious. Well, whatever. Hey, commoner. No matter how hard you try, you will never beat me. That’s why, don’t get cocky, you commoner.”

Geese said with an ugly smile flashed on his face. 

I took a deep breath before opening my mouth to speak. 

“Geese-sama, with all due respect, considering how you were defeated by the Red Dragon, I highly doubt you can win against me.”

Of course, I could definitely avoid things from escalating by not confronting them back and acting meek but… Seeing how my party members were itching to fight back, I realized I couldn’t back down here. 

If I were to surrender now, I would be insulting Rina, Elena, Jeff and Mia. 

I glared at Geese and then he….

“Commoner, I didn’t get defeated by the Red Dragon.”

“Huh?”

“I survived. Even though I was swallowed into the Red Dragon’s smoldering hot belly, I still came out unscathed!”

“No, that’s because me and Rina-“

“I didn’t need any help from commoners! I was fine on my own without your interference!”

Geese warned in a low voice.

“No, I won’t die. If I feel like I’m going to lose, I will surrender before I can die. You know, unlike Bern.”

Harry frowned, his handsome face looked so unsightly when he frowned like that. 

“Commoner, watch your words. You’re going to regret it.”

Geese chipped in.

“Harry-sama, please, you don’t need to dirty your hands for someone like him. I can handle him. Let me discipline him myself.”

“I see. I’m counting on you, Geese.”

Listening to their exchange, I turned my attention to Luna-sama. 

“Luna-sama, can I please have you cast a defense magic over the spectator stands?”

Upon hearing my words, Luna-sama immediately understood my intention. She nodded. 

“Yes. I will use magic stones to ensure the safety of the students watching. Their safety will be my priority.”

“Thank you, Luna-sama.”

“…Kanato-san, there’s no need for you to thank me. I’m just doing what I’m supposed to do as the student council president.”

Her cheeks dyed in red as she turned her face away. 

Seeing Luna-sama’s reaction, Selene-sama narrowed her eyes into a faint smile.

At the Arena

There were a lot of people gathered in the arena. 

Well, this amount of people is not surprising I guess. After all, this is a match between a Level 5 and a commoner. Our combination is quite rare if I may say so myself. 

“Begin!!”

Amidst the roar of the crowd, the referee shouted to announce the start of the match.

My opponent was Geese and he was brimming with murderous intent toward me.

“Steel! Manifest into the strongest hardness!”

Upon his chanting, Geese’s fist turned into steel. He immediately kicked the ground to fly toward me. Geese had trained his body well, as could be seen from his speed and bulky body. He looked almost inhuman, like a superhuman. 

“You’re just a small fry! You’re no match for me! I shall punish you as the representative of the noble!”

“……”

Even though his arms were so burly, but he was able to move his arms swiftly, almost like wielding a whip. I stepped back while dodging his continuous fist attack.

“Hahaha! You’re fast on your feet, huh! But! That kind of speed is no use against me! Haaaaaaa!!”

“….”

I kept focusing on dodging his attack. 

“Ahahaha!! Drop dead!! Just why did you step into the world of the elite?! You should’ve just lived your life quietly, tending a field or something!”

“….”

“You people will never become nobles like me! No matter how hard you try, it’s no use!! Hahahahaha!! Even if you’re able to graduate from this school, you’ll still be a commoner!”

While attacking me with his steel fist, Geese suddenly hit the ground with his fist, creating a deafening sound in its wake. The ground then began to crack. 

What an incredible power. 

I jumped back, distancing myself from him and looked at the cracked ground, which was covered in a cloud of dust. 

“Hahahahaha! Did you see that?! This is the difference in power between you and me! If I go all out, you will-“

“Is that all? So this is the best a Level 5 can do? Come on, please show me your true power. Give me everything you have.”

“….You dare make fun of me?! Fine!!! Don’t blame me if you die for real!! I won’t hold back even if you beg for your life!! UWOOOOHHHHH!!”

Geese roared like a beast. 

“Heh. Lucky you, you get to witness my true power.”

“How kind of you.”

“Gate of Steel!!”

Geese outstretched his hands to the side and shouted loudly, causing a large magic circle to appear in front of his hand. From the said magic circle, countless sharp steel emerged. All of the steels were aimed directly at my neck. 

“Get torn apart by rain of the mightiest steel!!”

Along with his roar, the sharp steels came flying at me at incredible speed. 

So this is the power of a Level 5? Indeed, with this skill of his, he might be able to defeat the Red Dragon. I do have to admit his pompous attitude is not without merit. Even Elena-sama would find it difficult to escape from this rain of steel unscathed. 

But….

“Depleted Uranium Armor.”

A rain of steel poured down on me for several tens of seconds. 

“Cra-Crap…. He’s getting hit straight on by a Level 5 full blown power.”

“He’s dead. I’m sure of it.”

“Well, he was the one that dared to go against a noble after all.”

“That guy really doesn’t know his own place, huh?”

“What an idiot. Just like what Geese-sama said, he could have had a happy life had he not come to this school. He should’ve just tended a field or something and lived quietly.”

Since I could hear the voices of the crowd, that meant Geese’s attack had dissipated. 

And sure enough, the sound of steel hitting my body had ceased. I dispelled the Depleted Uranium Armor and as the dust began to settle. Soon enough, I could finally see Geese standing there. 

Of course, this also meant both Geese and the crowd could see me too.

Everyone exclaimed in shock upon seeing that I was unharmed. 

It went without saying that Geese was shocked too. 

“I-Impossible…. Even though he took my Gate of Steel straight on…”

Geese looked confused beyond belief. Harry, who was sitting in the audience, also widened his eyes in shock.

I glared at Harry before I reached my hand out toward Geese.

“155mm Gun Turret… Depleted Uranium Rounds.”

I whispered and then a gun turret used in self-propelled artillery appeared in front of me. Of course, the turret was loaded with 155mm shells made from depleted uranium.

“Geese-sama!! We will always be cheering you on!”

“Yeah! Geese-sama!! I’m sure you will be able to punish that evil commoner!”

“Geese-sama!”

“Geese-sama!!”

The nobles seemed to be cheering for Geese. 

I expect nothing less from them though. Birds of a feather really flock together, huh?

While frowning, I let out a heavy sigh. 

Then, Geese exclaimed. 

“Yeah!! Everyone!! Thank you!! I won’t lose!! I will definitely defeat that evil commoner and show him the justice of a noble!”

“”YEAHHHH!!””

The nobles rejoiced at Geese’s confident response. Seemingly knowing I was going to attack him, Geese chanted. 

“Steel Shield!! Maximum strength!!”

He summoned a steel shield. He looked at me, seemingly confident at his defense. 

“Heh.”

Geese sneered at me. 

In response to his haughty attitude, I pointed my finger at him. 

“Fire!!”

And almost immediately, flames lit up from the 155mm turret. The depleted uranium rounds flew at the sound of speed, piercing through Geese’s shield easily. 

“-!!! Wha-Wha-Wha-What?! It penetrated my shield?!”

Of course, the warhead didn’t contain anything harmful like one you could find in modern weaponry. Had I infused something harmful in the warhead, Geese would be seriously injured. It wouldn’t do me any good if Geese became gravely injured just from a single attack alone.

I will wreak havoc.
