- I Confessed to Her Twice, but It Seems I Lost the Chance for a Third Time
- Chapter 47 - Morning Visit
Yesterday was a tiring day, especially with the events involving Imai-san. Despite that, as I headed to school in the morning, I couldn’t help but think about it.
Yeah, that’s right. After that, Aki, Yamato, and I chatted normally as we headed home. But as we were leaving, Aki kept clinging to my arm the whole time. Well, I guess it can’t be helped since we can’t always go home together, I thought, just letting Aki lean on me. However, Yamato was looking at us with a disbelieving expression. I couldn’t help but think that it was understandable to receive such a look.
And Yamato reiterated, “So from now on, I’m joining in too, right?” I replied, thinking that it meant coming to the classroom with Aki. “You’re coming with Aki, right? That’s no problem.”
However, Aki still seemed unsatisfied. Seeing that, I couldn’t help but wonder if that was all. Well, in the end, Aki did acknowledge it, but not without some reluctance.

When I arrived at school, I exchanged greetings with my classmates as usual and took my seat. I glanced briefly at Imai-san and Tadano-san; they seemed fine, already chatting away. Somehow, they really do seem well-suited for each other, I thought, as murmurs spread among my classmates. What’s going on? I wondered, and then I noticed someone else. Huh? Why are they here? I thought, looking in a certain person’s direction. That person approached my desk and suddenly took a seat on it. Hey, why are you suddenly sitting there? I thought, irritated.
“What are you doing?”
“Good morning, Kondou-kun. I came straight here; was I bothering you?”
It was Yamato-san. She’s the vice president of the student council in the neighboring class. My classmates seemed to be whispering about why she had come over to my place.
“No, it’s not about bothering me, but why are you suddenly sitting at my desk?”
Yeah, suddenly appearing and sitting at my desk… Is this person more troublesome than Aki? I thought, expressing my confusion.
“Well, there’s nowhere else to sit, right? If I sit in the front seat, I won’t be able to when the owner comes, right? Besides, no greeting? Kondou-kun?”
Yamato-san said, giving me reasons for sitting there while also pointing out the lack of greeting.
What’s with this person…
I scratched my head.
“Yeah, yeah, good morning. So… why are you alone? Weren’t you supposed to come with Aki?”
I asked while greeting him, wanting to confirm the reason for his solo appearance.
“It’s not a big deal if I come alone, right? You invited me to join you guys. Besides, I’m not always with Aki, you know? We’re friends, remember?”
Yamato emphasized the word ‘friends’ as she conveyed it to me. Wow, coming alone? I was surprised. Well, it’s not like it matters if she comes alone. Even if she and I were together, it wouldn’t make much sense.
“Well… yeah. But it doesn’t make sense for just you and me to be together, right? You want to be with Aki, don’t you? So there’s no need for you to come alone. Besides… don’t you notice the buzz among the classmates? With the title of vice president of the student council, and it seems like you’re popular, why? You’re just standing out among classmates who are all looking at you, wondering why. Sigh… Aki was already drawing attention, and now you’re adding to it.”
“There’s no point in worrying about what others think, right? Since I’ll be coming with Aki anyway. And if we only focus on Aki’s activities together, then about you, um… and also, there will be other people joining us, right? Falling behind in understanding those people?”
She said, explaining that she had come to get to know the personalities of the people we spend time with. Yeah, that might be necessary, I thought. But still…
“I get it, but… shouldn’t you come with Aki at least in the beginning? That’s what I think. Well, for now, it’s just me, Aki, and Maya. There’s a possibility more people will join later.”
“Aki, and… well, yeah, you’re right. But since I’m already here, I won’t worry about it anymore.”
Yamato said to me, for some reason, looking in a certain direction as she spoke. Then, in a low voice, she asked me.
“Hmm, those two? Are they together?”
Upon hearing that, I followed Yamato’s gaze to see Imai-san and Tadano-san together. How did she figure that out?
“Yeah… you’re right. How did you know, though?”
“Well, one of them gave me a rather menacing look. It’s kind of obvious.”
to be continued…
