I Asked A Beautiful Girl, Who Was About To Jump Off The School Rooftop, 'If You're Going To Die Anyway, Could You At Least Take My Virginity Before You Go?' To My Surprise, She Agreed. - Chapter 47: Couples Take A Nap After A Meal.
Couples Take A Nap After A Meal.
After finishing the shopping, we headed to Hatsune-san’s room.
We stood side by side in the kitchen, ready to start cooking.
Hatsune-san wore an apron over her uniform, and I borrowed a spare apron, though it was a little small.
Anyway, after preparing everything, we were about to begin cooking when she spoke.
“I had planned on cooking for myself, so I intentionally chose a place with a spacious kitchen for a one-person apartment, but… with two of us, this kitchen feels a bit cramped, doesn’t it?”
“Yeah, I guess so.”
The kitchen counter space was a bit tight. Standing next to each other, our shoulders were nearly touching.
“But, you know, this might be kind of nice.”
Hatsune-san said that, then subtly leaned her shoulder toward me.
“If we keep standing this close, we won’t be able to cook.”
“I want to be close a little longer…”
In the middle of her sentence, Hatsune-san’s stomach let out a soft growl.
“…Did you hear that?”
“Well, when we’re this close, yeah.”
After hearing my response, Hatsune-san took a small step back.
Though, considering the small kitchen space, we were still quite close.
“I’m hungry too, so let’s get started with the cooking.”
It seemed like her hunger won out over her desire for closeness. She grabbed a bowl to start whisking the eggs.

In the cramped kitchen, with the nearby kitchen rack serving as a makeshift countertop, Hatsune-san and I worked together to make the omelette rice.
As I chopped the bell peppers and onions for the chicken rice, I felt her gaze on me.
“Yakumo-kun, your knife skills are impressive… Are you secretly good at cooking?”
“No, I don’t have much experience with cooking,” I replied.
Hatsune-san peeked over from beside me, looking curious.
“Really? But you’re chopping those veggies so smoothly,” she said, sounding puzzled.
It was true that I hadn’t cooked much. The few times I had were helping my mom with chores, or in home economics class.
“Maybe my experience in another world is helping me out,” I joked.
In that other world, I had a skill called “Swordsmanship,” which made me a master with any blade, whether it was a sword or any other weapon. In that world, it was mainly used to fight monsters and survive dangerous situations.
I never thought it would be useful in this peaceful world, but it seemed like it worked for kitchen knives too.
“Huh, so it’s like a cheat skill?” Hatsune-san asked, intrigued.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that.”
“Can you even gut fish with it?” she asked, eyes sparkling with interest.
“I think so… I’ve cut through water-dwelling creatures before, but they were monsters, so it’s not quite the same. But, it should work.”
“Then maybe someday you could show me a fish butchering demo,” she said with a playful grin.
Hatsune-san seemed unusually cheerful today, and I couldn’t help but smile in response.
“Yeah, I’ll show you sometime.”
In that moment, I wished that days like this could last forever.

After the rice that Hatsune-san had prepared earlier in the morning finished cooking, I mixed it with the chopped vegetables and chicken to make the chicken rice. Then, Hatsune-san used her special fluffy eggs to wrap the chicken rice, creating the perfect omelette rice.
In the end, though I had only helped with chopping the vegetables and meat, Hatsune-san did most of the work. Still, just having been involved in the process gave me a sense of accomplishment.
I plated the omelette rice and carried it from the kitchen to the living room.
“The demi-glace sauce would be nice, but… I think the classic ketchup is the way to go, right?” Hatsune-san said, holding the ketchup bottle in one hand as we sat side by side on the low table.
“Well, if we went all out with a fancy sauce, your stomach would probably start growling before it was ready,” I teased.
“Huh, you’re mean, Yakumo-kun. I’m not putting ketchup on your omelette rice now,” she shot back with a playful grin.
“Come on, that’d be too bland! It wouldn’t be the same,” I responded quickly.
Hatsune-san seemed pleased with my answer.
“Well, if you’re going to insist… then I guess I’ll put it on… but no heart-shaped designs, alright? How about just writing your name?” she said, ready for a little payback.
In a moment of mischievous triumph, she squirted ketchup on my omelette rice and wrote “Yakumo-kun” on it. Honestly, I felt a little embarrassed, but seeing how happy she was made it okay. As I glanced over, I saw that Hatsune-san had also written her own name on her omelette rice with ketchup.
“Alright, done. Let’s eat!” she said with a satisfied smile.
“Yeah,” I nodded and picked up my spoon.
“Let’s eat!”
“Let’s eat!” we both said in unison before digging in.
“Mm… I think this might be the best one I’ve ever had, since we made it together,” Hatsune-san said, savoring a bite.
“That’s a bit of an exaggeration… But you might be right. It’s definitely the best because you made it, and I helped out a little,” I admitted.
“A little? You don’t have to be so modest,” she said, playfully elbowing me while taking another bite of her omelette rice.
It was a simple meal, but there was something special about it, something that made it feel more meaningful.

The meal had been so delicious, and with my hunger already in full swing, I finished it in no time.
“Ahh, that was great. I think I’m starting to get a little sleepy… it’s about the right time for a nap, don’t you think?” Hatsune-san said, lightly covering her mouth with her hand as she yawned.
“If you lie down right after eating, I heard it’s not good for digestion,” I warned.
“Are you worried about my weight? I’m fine, I’m not gaining weight, so it’s okay,” she replied, her eyelids beginning to droop a little.
“Well, that’s true for now,” I muttered, still watching her.
“Hmm… if lying down is bad, then it’s easy. If you support me, I’ll be fine,” she said, before I could even respond.
“Support? What do you mean by that…?”
Before I could even finish asking, Hatsune-san leaned against me.
“Oh, this is just perfect…” she sighed, settling into me and resting her weight against me while slipping her arm around my back. With a relaxed expression, she closed her eyes.
It seemed like she was using me as a sort of body pillow to sleep without lying down.
“Hatsune-san? Are you really trying to sleep like this?” I asked quietly.
“Mmm…” she murmured, perhaps in response, before the soft sound of her breathing filled the space.
“Wow, she really falls asleep fast…” I muttered under my breath, watching her peaceful sleeping face.
Her relaxed expression was so cute, and as I felt the warmth of her closeness and listened to the soft sound of her breath, I felt myself getting drowsy as well.
“Yeah, this is pretty much the perfect situation for a nap…”
I gently pulled Hatsune-san closer, letting the drowsiness take over as I closed my eyes, ready to drift off with her.
