Chapter 46 The Demi-Human Girl Eavesdrop
“Wow! This alcohol is so delicious!”
Mion, with a wine bottle in hand, was getting more and more excited. At first, she was pouring the wine into a glass, but now she was drinking straight from the bottle. She was fully indulging in the behavior of a drunkard. Watching her, Croix couldn’t help but chuckle.
“I see. Mion-chan is a bit of a heavy drinker, huh?”
“She sure can put it away.”
When Mion had a room prepared for her at the royal castle, she refrained from drinking alcohol. Knowing how she’d get, she wisely avoided drinking around royalty. Now, more than twenty empty bottles littered the floor, a combined effort between Wiel and Mion.
Though it was just the three of them now, even Croix, who didn’t drink, could tell that they had overindulged.
“Both of you, maybe it’s time to call it a night? We still have things to do tomorrow.”
“What are you saying, Croix-shama? The night is still young!”
She was already slurring her words. When Croix glanced over at Wiel, she was just happily sipping her drink, a big smile on her face. Croix sighed quietly and finished his twentieth plate of meat.
“Whew. It’s been a while since I’ve eaten this much.”
“Croix-shama ate a lot too~. You ate too much~.”
“You’re the last person I want to hear that from.”
“Hahaha! I can still drink more! …Huh? Why are there three Croix-shamas? Are you using a cloning technique~?”
She was completely drunk. Croix wondered just how much she had drunk, as even the smell of alcohol was making him feel a bit dizzy.
“Hahaha! Ahahaha! …Shukaah.”
“Oh, she fell asleep.”
Mion had slumped over the table, still holding the bottle, with a blissful expression on her face. Seeing this, Wiel used magic to levitate her and gently tossed her into a nearby bedroom.
“Even when drunk, your magic skills don’t waver.”
“Heheh, you praised me.”
“Oh no, she’s drunk too… Whoa!”
Wiel, now tipsy, leaned heavily against Croix, wrapping her arms around him and gazing up at him with a sultry look. The intensity of her gaze, her touch, and the warmth of her body—it all made Croix’s face flush, despite not having had a drop of alcohol.
“You’re still so weak to this kind of thing.”
“Quiet.”
“The way you can only manage simple words is just so adorable.”
“Men are always simple creatures.”
“Then simply give in to my invitation.”
As Croix looked down at Wiel, he couldn’t help but notice the prominent curves she was displaying.
“Invitation? You mean…”
“Yes. I’m still very much in my prime, you know. Plus, after traveling like this, it’s only natural to feel a little excited.”
Croix understood the sentiment. After all, this journey had reminded him of his days traveling the world, and his spirits were high. The large amount of meat he had consumed only added to the energy building up inside him.
“Are you sure about this?”
“Of course. Let it all out.”

“Shukaah… Shupii… Fugh… Huh?”
When Mion opened her eyes, she found herself lying in bed in the bedroom, having dozed off without realizing it. The room was pitch dark, and even the lights in the living room were off. It seemed she had completely passed out. Her thoughts were still foggy, likely due to the alcohol, and her eyelids felt heavy.
Her throat burned painfully. She hadn’t drunk any water after all that alcohol, and now her body was desperately craving it. As she gulped down some water in the darkened living room, she noticed that Croix and Wiel were nowhere to be seen.
“Huh, where did they go…?”
The living room was filled with empty plates, but there wasn’t a sound to be heard. Despite her drunken state, Mion’s keen hearing picked up on something—a muffled voice from Wiel and the sound of splashing water, coming from the room farthest from the living room, another bedroom.
She had heard this sound many times back in her village. She knew exactly what was happening.
“This… this is…! ~~~~~!?”
Panicking, Mion rushed back to the room she had been in earlier and pulled the covers over her head. But no matter how much she covered her ears, the sounds kept coming.
Once you hear something like that, it’s impossible to ignore it. Mion, being sixteen, naturally had her own desires, compounded by her nature as a member of the rabbitfolk.
She lay on the bed, desperately trying to keep herself from getting too caught up, ears pressed tightly to her head as she squirmed restlessly.

The next day, Croix and Wiel were enjoying breakfast with refreshed expressions, even though they had been up all night. Mion, however, had yet to wake up and was apparently still asleep.
“She’s such a handful. It seems she drank too much yesterday after all,” Wiel remarked.
“You drank more than she did. Are you feeling okay?” Croix asked.
“Yes, after a night’s rest, the effects of the alcohol have worn off,” Wiel replied.
“I can’t fathom what kind of body you have. It’s hard to believe we share the same human anatomy.”
“Oh, but you spent all night confirming that, didn’t you?” Wiel teased with a sidelong glance.
Croix looked away and sipped his coffee, trying to hide his reaction. Wiel found his behavior both amusing and endearing, so she leaned against him affectionately.
“So, what’s the plan for today?” Wiel inquired.
“I’m planning to visit an old acquaintance. While I’m gone, could you oversee Mion’s training?”
“Of course, I understand,” Wiel agreed.
Despite all they had eaten and drunk the previous night, the two of them were already back to their usual selves, their stomachs and livers seemingly as resilient as ever.
As they leisurely enjoyed their breakfast, Mion finally emerged.
“Oh, Mion. Good morning… but are you okay?” Croix asked with concern.
“G-Good morning. I’m sorry, I didn’t sleep well…” Mion replied.
Her hair was disheveled, dark circles under her eyes, and her cheeks were flushed, giving her an overall unwell appearance.
“Hmm. It’s likely the unfamiliar sea and yesterday’s drinking have taken a toll on your body. No helping it—today’s training is canceled. Focus on resting. Wiel, please take care of Mion.”
“Yes, I will, dear,” Wiel responded.
After finishing his meal, Croix stood up and left the room. As he departed, Wiel turned her attention to Mion, offering her a glass of water.
“Thank you,” Mion said, gulping down the water.
“You’re welcome. By the way, I noticed you were listening the whole time. Are you secretly a bit of a voyeur, Mion?” Wiel asked with a playful tone.
“Bwuuuuh!” Mion spit out the water in surprise.
It was completely unexpected—she hadn’t anticipated such a direct question right off the bat.
“Y-you noticed…?” Mion stammered.
“Yes, my husband noticed as well,” Wiel replied calmly.
“If you knew, couldn’t you at least have been a bit more discreet about it!” Mion protested, her face flushing with embarrassment.
“There’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s not like we did anything wrong,” Wiel said nonchalantly.
The two of them were married, so naturally, those things would happen. But for Mion, who had been subjected to listening to the sounds all night, it was beyond mortifying.
