Embracing my stalker - Chapter 2- Going back
Very calmly, I got out of the car, and so did the masked guy.
He said he meant no harm…well, I had a knife, so if he really tried anything funny, I would just use it as my self-defense.
He was standing there nonchalantly, his hands behind his back.
His appearance was suspicious, urging me to keep my distance.
“What did you just say now?” I asked him again. He mentioned something about meeting someone I am missing.
Very calmly he responded, “I wouldn’t have approached you…if I hadn’t seen how dearly you were missing her.”
My heart trembled…was he there for the whole time, after all?
Regardless, I said, “Why did you approach me? Do you have any relation to all this?”
The man tilted his head, “I think we should focus on you more for the time being.”
Saying so, he snapped his fingers.
“Huh…?” I staggered on my feet. My vision blurred for a moment, and it felt as if I had been pushed through a long distance in a single second.
I looked around and found I was no longer near my car.
It was…a graveyard.
“Agh…am I drugged?” I clutched my head. This was unreal.
“I think you would like to focus here more,” he said while pointing towards a certain tombstone with his chin.
I directed my gaze…and froze.
On the tombstone read,
“Nakamura Amaye…” My heart felt heavy.
This graveyard was close to my house…yet I never came here.
‘Well, I never even thought about contacting Amaye again despite how I treated her…’ A sad smile lifted the edges of my lips as I crouched before the tombstone and started dusting away the dried flowers.
The man approached the tombstone and moved his hand.
A fresh garland appeared…making my eyes wide.
“…what are you?” I asked him.
“As I said, let’s focus on you.” He said as he leaned against another tombstone. That’s rude.
“What about me?” I asked, still clearing the dried flowers.
It seems someone, most probably Shiori-san, visits her elder sister’s grave.
“Do you regret it? Making her cry and neglecting her?”
My fingers trembled as I nodded, “Yes…I regret it all.”
“Because she is Blaze?”
I shook my head, “No…because she didn’t deserve it. No girl deserved such insult.”
I was a fool, an arrogant prick who said those things and allowed others to bully her.
She didn’t deserve that. She deserved a better life…a better ending.
She deserved love.
And I…only gave her grief and hate.
“So…if I send you back in time, what will you do?”
I glanced at the man. What is he saying?
Going back in time….the time when I still could apologize to her…and say that I am thankful for what she did…to undo everything I did wrong and give her a better life.
If only I could go back in time.
“I will change everything. Amaye…she would never cry, I will make sure.”
Amaye held a very special place in my heart, someone whom I want to protect. And if get to meet her again, I will do everything in my power to protect her smile.
“And what if you fail?” He asked, “…what if she meets the same fate?”
I looked at the man. My eyes were dead serious when I said, “Then you will see my grave beside hers.”
He didn’t move, nor did I. We kept looking at each other in silence.
The man finally moved, placing his hand against his mask, “Well, if you make her cry again, I promise I will come and behead you.”
I blinked in surprise but before I could say anything, he removed his mask and instantly pressed against my face.
And then…I lose consciousness.
….
“Agh…” My head throbbed painfully as I rubbed my temples.
What…just happened?
I was at the graveyard a moment ago…and now, I am…wait, “Isn’t this…my classroom?”
I remember it vividly. It was my university.
I looked down and found I was unharmed.
Looking around, my eyes landed on the whiteboard across from me…and I froze.
The date in the corner…
18th April, 2020.
…did I really travel back in time?
I wasn’t allowed to check whether the theory was right or not as someone rushed into the classroom,
“Haruto-kun!” Rushed in was a blond girl whom I knew.
“Yuri…” My eyes narrowed. She was one of the Yumeko’s friends who helped her hide things from me.
She seemed surprised, “Why are you already getting angry? I still haven’t told you the news.”
I just kept looking at her as she said, “We caught the person who was trying to slip a love letter into your locker. It’s that emo bitch, Amaye.”
Hearing that name, my heart skipped a beat.
I-Is it really true…is Amaye still alive now?
“W-Where is she?” I asked, my voice trembling.
“In the hallway…but, are you okay?”
I didn’t respond to her and rushed out.
I don’t care if it’s reality or not, I just wanted to see her once again.
