A Chance To Rewrite It All - Chapter 7- Mom~1
After the deal was made with Hiyori I escorted Yuna back to her home. I still had the bag of money in my hand, and since I didn’t have any account in my possession, I decided to keep the cash with me until I got everything arranged.
En route, I glanced at Yuna and apologized, “Sorry for making you stay there. It must have been boring.”
It took almost an hour and a half to finally leave the cafe, and during that duration, all Yuna did was look at us from afar.
Yuna shook her head, and with a soft smile, she said, “I had fun, Ryuu-kun. Seeing you working so diligently was a delight to gaze at.”
“Does my usual self look boring to you?” I joked.
However, as innocent as ever, Yuna got flustered and hurriedly added, “N-No! Your usual self is pretty handsome too! I-It’s just it was the first time to see you being so serious about something…” Shyly peeking at me, she said, “It made my heart race.”
….I have forgotten the last time I felt my heart beating so loudly.
Goddamn, I am already a mature person!
“Ryuu-kun? Are you blushing?”
“Gah! Who said that, eh?” I adopted my delinquent accent to pretend that I wasn’t affected by her words…but that only made her giggle.
Okay, she has a mischievous personality.
After walking in silence for a few seconds, I asked her, “Hey Yuna…does Sato still enter your room?”
As her childhood friend, it was inevitable for him to be close to her and her family, which made me a little uneasy.
However, “Once I turned thirteen, my father and I forbade him from entering my room. And now, he only comes to my home when his mother is with him.” Her voice was a little rushed, maybe because she thought I would misunderstand.
I softly held her hand and told her, “I trust you Yuna, so you don’t need to worry.” With a weary sigh escaping my lips, I added, “I just feel worried about what that asswipe might do to separate us.”
Hearing my words, even though hesitantly, her hand wrapped around mine as she asked, “Ryuu-kun, you said you trust me, right?”
I nodded
“Then leave him to me. I will never let myself become a reason for your concern.” She balled her fist and flames of determination in her eyes.
I chuckled and softly caressed her head as I told her, “You are my lover, Yuna. Of course, I will be worried about you. And you are not alone in this so no need to go out of your way to take care of him.”
Yuna melted in my touch, her eyes shut and her pace slowed down.
I parted ways from her near her house. Just as I was about to leave, she held my hand and with her head leaning down, she shakily asked,
“Ryuu-kun…we will meet tomorrow right?”
Her sudden change in demeanour surprised me a little…but considering how many changes have been introduced today, she must be fearful of being brought to point zero.
I held her face gently and told her, “I belong to you now, and that’s not my choice anymore, rather, it’s your right. So if I act differently, knock some senses in me and never let go, okay?”
There could have been no better way to bid farewell than that beaming smile Yuna offered when I walked away.

Himiko was returning home yet after another tiring day. She had to work overtime to finish the survey files of her co-worker since the manager asked her to.
The said co-worker is in a relationship with the manager, despite the latter being a married man. As such, Himiko often has to finish her work to not lose her job.
‘Guess…this is the punishment for being pure…’ She didn’t give in to the offer of the manager when he initially showed some hints of being interested in her. However, Himiko didn’t regret her decision. She isn’t the type of woman who would get physical with someone for her benefit.
There has been only a single man whom she ever loved…and the same man gave her the worst betrayal in life.
She hates him more than her boss.
*Ding*
Hearing the notification, she checked her phone and soon found a sigh seeping through her lips upon realizing that it was another warning from the school where her son goes.
Not only was he absent today, but it seems he has beaten someone.
This was already the eighth time this week and it was only Friday today.
Because she has to often go to her son’s school to apologize so they don’t end up expelling him, it causes her to arrive late at work as well. And because of that, along with the teacher, she gets scolded by the manager as well.
However…she can’t blame everything on Ryuuske. That child is already going through a lot. Because of the absence of a father figure, he has been all alone. Himiko also couldn’t focus on her child’s growth when she seldom stayed at home, even on weekends.
‘I can’t…scold him…I have to talk things out with him…haah…’ Although she was convincing herself, Himiko knew that she would end up venting her frustration on her son and in the end, he would walk away.
It has been the same as ever. However, today she has decided. She has to talk to him…like a loving mother.
That’s why, after stepping off the train, she bought his favourite rice crackers and made her way back home as soon as she could.
Taking a deep breath, she entered the house and exchanged her shoes.
Slowly approaching the living area, the only illuminated place in the house, she entered with quiet steps…only to freeze in shock.
Sitting on the ground, Ryuuske was currently…counting money while taking it out of a black bag.
Seeing those many bills, the packet from her hand fell to the ground.
Ryuuske looked up and found his mother staring at him in horror.
Heaving a sigh, he got up. This is going to be difficult.
