A Chance To Rewrite It All - Chapter 5- Confession

[Ryuuske’s POV:]

In my eyes, Sato was a threat. In my previous timeline, Sato was the man to whom Yuna got married, even though she never liked that guy from the beginning.

However, from what I have seen in the video sent to me and some fragments of memories I still have some memories regarding that guy from the previous timeline, I knew that he has a very strong influence over his own family and Yuna’s family as well.

I can fight someone who comes with the intention to fight from the front. However, Sato is a bitch kind of guy who plots behind one’s back and targets those people who could get influenced by his words rather than actions.

Although he is famous for his looks and social skills, in truth he is a coward and quite a jealous man. He wants to possess Yuna, and unfortunately, in the last timeline, because of my lack of response towards her advances, the girl ended up in his claws.

‘I wasn’t just ignoring Yuna, I was also pushing her towards Sato….’ Heaving a sigh, I felt my shoulders turning heavy in guilt.

“Ryuu-kun, you are stressed because of that announcement?”

It seems my behaviour was misjudged as Yuna asked in a concerned voice, and the way her eyes never elevated to look at me shows that she actually believed what she just said.

Holding her hand firmly in mine, I asked her, “Rather than that, I want to ask you honestly; are you really fine a scumbag and useless guy like me?”

Yuna finally looked up at me, her big innocent eyes carrying the moisture of different emotions she was holding in. With a smile which looked more pitiful than pretty, she said,

“I have given myself to you that day when we spent the first night together.”

She is a pure girl who accepted me as her soulmate because we slept together. However, she doesn’t know that my previous self slept with her just for the sake of my greed.

Seriously, what a nasty bastard I was.

“Yuna….can you come with me there for a moment?” I gestured towards a park on the left to which she nodded.

There weren’t many people in the park, given it was mid-noon. Although it was summer, the clouds covered the sky, and the temperature had fallen to a comfortable degree.

I brought her under the tree and made her sit on the bench before kneeling before her.

Yuna was baffled seeing my action but this was the most comfortable stance I could assume to convey what I have in my mind.

Truth be told, I wanted to take some time to think about this carefully, but since things have become chaotic because of that snake, I don’t want to take any chances.

I have no intention of losing Yuna in this life as well.

Holding her hand fondly between mine, I began,

“There are only two women in my life who matter to me. First is my mother, who gave birth to me and has been taking care of this irresponsible me for like ever. And there is you, who accepted this foolish and useless me despite knowing how harbouring emotions for me could cost you dearly. Your determination is not something I see in many girls these days, and for that, I respect you a lot.”

Heaving a sigh, I continued, “Last night I had a dream…of becoming a man who has lost both of his important women and has become a lost soul. A world where you and Mom didn’t exist seemed so hopeless that when I woke up I found my eyes moist and my mind completely converged at the thought of how I can make everything better.”

Looking up at her, I told her, “Yuna…you know me and my past. A fatherless child who has blamed his life situation for every wrong decision he took. I had several relationships in the past and when I approached you I had a similar intention of just having a few nights with you before moving on.”

With my shoulders dropping I added, “But you….you changed me. You changed my whole perception and I suddenly had a thought ‘I can’t let go of such a wonderful girl’. Even though I am nothing but a scumbag I wanted to have you by my side, that’s why I told you to give me a day so I can officially confess my intentions.”

Shaking my head left to right weakly, I said, “But I guess fate doesn’t want me to delay this anymore. So I will say it right now,” Looking into her eyes which were blurred because of tears, I clearly stated, “I am in love with you Yuna and want to spend a lifetime with you. I want to spend a long time together and to gain your trust I am prepared to go through any test or punishment you deem worthy. However, one thing is for sure and that is my determination to make you a part of my present and future.”

When I looked back at her, I found Yuna resting her back against the bench and her head tilted up; urging me to immediately get up and check on her.

Her eyes were closed and tears were flowing down continuously. After sitting down beside her, I carefully held her cheeks and asked, “What happened? Are you unwell?”

She smiled, this time it was a pretty one, before shaking her head and telling me, “I felt light headed because of sudden elevation of heart rate. I will be fine in a minute.”

Glancing at me, Yuna looked at me with a peculiar emotion in her eyes, before asking, “Are you sure you want me, Ryuu-kun? You have only seen my gentle side but once you let me become your partner, I might show some sides which most men don’t like.”

Curiously, I asked, “Like…what it could be?” Despite her answer I was not going to change my decision. Even if Yuna changes it doesn’t matter. In this life I wouldn’t let her go at any cost.

However, when she opened her mouth, and stated the possibility of changes in her personality I felt my mind turning numb,

“Ryuu-kun…I become really possessive of things that belong to me. And you….you are my first love so imagine how clingy I could become.”

There was a smile on her lips that looked more sadistic than beautiful—sending a shiver down my spine.

Yuna is beautiful. Yuna knows how to cook. Her handwriting is pretty. She talks gently. She has a cute smile. And above all…she has possessive tendency?

Isn’t she already a Goddess.
