A Chance To Rewrite It All - Chapter 10- I am dating him
[Shirakawa Residence]
Around the entranceway, a woman with long black hair could be seen, currently pacing around, eagerly waiting for someone with a frown on her face.
Shirakawa Ayumi was worried about her daughter for some time now. It started some months ago when Yuna returned home late for the first time and lied to her about the fact that she wasn’t with her usual friends.
Sato told her that she was not with her usual friend but rather with a guy from the class.
After that, Yuna often came back home late and told lies about not being involved with any person in any strange way. However, as a woman and a mother Ayumi could tell the difference between her innocent daughter and a girl in love.
She was head over heels for someone and this news would have delighted Ayumi…if only the person in question would have been Sato, or at least, someone as good as him.
Sato is a very diligent and kind child and someone who grew up right before her eyes. She very well knows how good it would have been if he had become a partner of her silly daughter. However, she ended up choosing the wrong person and broke Sato’s trust.

Hearing the door opening, the lady spun on her feet and advanced towards her husband, “Anata, welcome back.”
She took his bag and stepped back to let him exchange his shoes.
Her husband works for a newspaper as an editor and often returns late. However, thankfully, today he returned on time.
“What happened?” Shirakawa Masaru asked in his usual stern tone, with his eyes barely visible because of his thick glasses.
There was no doubt that his wife was currently excited about something. And as he assumed,
“You need to talk to Yuna about Sato.”
Masaru sighed as he began proceeding inside the house, “What happened this time?” Masaru has already been informed how his daughter has changed just because she no longer hangs out with Sato.
“Someone called Yuna his girlfriend, the same guy about whom I told you about, and Yuna didn’t reject such a claim.”
Masaru paused and frowned before turning towards his wife and asking, “How do you know?” If this was something Sato said and his wife believed then he had to talk to that brat. Man-to-man talk.
However, “See this, ” Ayumi suddenly pulled out her phone and showed him a video of the classroom where a blond kid had his arm wrapped around Yuna as he declared,
“Yuna and I are dating. So from now on, whoever bullies her or dares to touch her…”
Masaru frowned. His daughter, indeed, didn’t refute that and even left the classroom with the guy.
“She returned home just an hour ago, argued with me and locked herself in her room.”
Masaru took the phone and turned around. Followed by his wife, the duo climbed the stairs and reached before Yuna’s room.
*Knock*
Masaru knocked, and not so long after, Yuna appeared from the other side. Her eyes were smiling, until she saw her mother standing behind her father.
“I want to ask something, “His tone sounded stern, but it wasn’t like the usual one.
Yuna gripped the door handle firmly and took a strong gulp before nodding and making some space for them to enter.
Once inside, Masaru sat down on the chair which Yuna previously occupied and asked his daughter, “Did you skip school today?”
Yuna stood before him and slowly nodded, “After lunch, yes. I left school.”
Ayumi narrowed her eyes but didn’t say anything and allowed her husband to continue.
Masaru turned the phone screen towards her before asking, “Is this true? Are you dating him?”
Slowly she nodded, “Yes I am.” If he had asked the same thing yesterday, then Yuna might not have been able to give a proper response…or maybe she would have said ‘no’.
However, after hearing his confession today, she could confidently announce her relationship to her parents.
Masaru was about to say something but his wife lost her cool, “How can you do this, Yuna?! Not only have you betrayed our trust, but that delinquent even beat Sato just because he was trying to save you from that guy.”
Yuna frowned but didn’t say anything. Explaining her mother was futile, and she had long discerned it.
However, this time, it was her dad who asked, “Did Sato get beaten up?”
Yuna nodded, “Yes, Dad, but there is a reason.”
“Here she goes, defending that delinquent now.”
Yuna glared at her mother, “How can you say that without knowing the whole thing, Mom? Do you think Sato got punched for no reason?”
Ayumi huffed, “He tried to make you see what is right and wrong for you and you rejected Sato-kun’s help-”
“Ayumi.” Hearing Masaru’s voice, the lady sealed her lips, as she heard him adding, “Let her talk.”
Yuna inwardly felt thankful for her father before she told them the whole thing that happened during the class. She even showed them her reddened hand which Sato gripped. Since she knew her mother wouldn’t believe them, Yuna asked someone for the whole clip of what happened and showed her parents the video of Sato tormenting her.
Ayumi’s face changed and the previous aggression she held subdued a little. Rather it was now Masaru’s turn to show a tinge of anger when he saw the video of Sato showing his ‘manliness’ in such a sissy manner.
He then saw Ryuuske coming for Yuna’s rescue and slapping Sato into near oblivion.
Once the video stopped the room fell under brief silence before Yuna knelt before her father and held his hand fondly.
“Dad, Ryuuske might be infamous for bad things, but at heart, he is really a good person. Even when we got back home, he made sure to see me off right before I reached my doorstep. I am in love with him and I am very sincere about this relationship.”
Masaru could see, that unusual stubbornness in his daughter’s eyes when she talked about this guy named Ryuuske and their relationship.
This might be the first time when Yuna was persistent about getting something. Ryuuske wasn’t just her love; she was crazy for him.
Someone who met his wife in high school and married after being in a relationship with her for seven years could understand how Yuna must be feeling.
Ayumi had a frown on her face, seeing Yuna being so persuasive about this. And what she feared turned out to be true,
“Call Ryuuske home tomorrow. I want to have a talk with him.”
“But anata, how can we let her date at such a critical part of her life?” Ayumi wouldn’t have agreed to let Yuna dare anyone, given it was her third year of high school.
Masaru got up and stated, “We cannot control our daughter’s life, dear. However, I won’t give them my acceptance until I don’t meet this guy first.”
Yuna smiled before getting up and said, “Thank you, Dad.”
Now, all she hopes is that the meeting tomorrow between her father and Ryuuske goes well.
