“Maybe, today, I’ll die.”
It’s now lunch break. I was talking to myself as I sat on a bench in the courtyard.
A short while ago, the most significant event in my life occurred.
Tenshin asked me out on a date for the school festival!
I’m screaming with happiness right now that the person I love had asked me to go around the festival with her.
I’m so happy that I might die.
It’s a no-brainer that I quickly accepted Tenshin’s invitation.
Initially, I was planning to ask her to spend the festival with me. But I didn’t expect Tenshin to be the one to invite me. F*ck, I can’t stop smiling.
“Yuugo, what’s with that gross look?” said someone beside me.
It was Chitose there, dressed in a boys’ uniform as usual. She was smiling mischievously as she said rudely so.
“Who are you calling a gross person? Don’t you mean a ‘handsome’ guy?”
“Don’t kid yourself, Yuugo,” said Chitose teasing me slightly.
It can’t be helped. There is not a single thing I can say back to Chitose about physical appearance.
If anything, let me trade face with Chitose right now!
“Can I sit here?”
“Sure.”
As soon as I said that, Chitose sat beside me.
In fact, my original plan was to discuss with Seira how she could use her divine correctly, considering the advice from Tenshin. Unfortunately, Seira’s friends have asked her to participate in a performance at the school festival, so she’s practicing with them right now.
So, for the first time in a long time, I was having lunch with Chitose.
Chitose’s club’s lunch practice is on a break today, according to her.
“So, what’s up with that look? Why is Yuugo looking so happy?”
“Tsk! You’re going back to that after telling me I’ve looked gross?”
“Then, why did you have a look that’s so sickeningly happy?”
“Hey, you just rephrased it!”
What kind of description is a sickening and happy face?
“It’s because… Tenshin asked me to go around the cultural festival with her.”, I said embarrassingly.
Chitose widened with shock at my words.
“So, that’s what it is. You did it, Yuugo!”
“I-I guess so.”
“So this time, make sure to tell her your feelings!” Chitose happily said.
But honestly, whether or not I can confess to Tenshin is still a big question. Tsukimiya will definitely get in the way, and Seira has yet to properly use her divine power.
“Don’t tell me you’ll be troubled again by that romantic comedy god? Always interfering with Yuugo’s confession?”
“You! You’re enjoying this, aren’t you?”
“Haha, you know that’s not true.”
It’s not convincing if you’re laughing like that.
Before, I told Chitose that Tsukimiya was a god of romantic comedy and that she was the one interfering with my confession. She said she believed my story at that time, but she seemed skeptical to accept it in reality.
Well, what can I do? It’s hard to believe that there are gods of romantic comedies and for it to be suddenly interfering with your friend’s confession, isn’t it? I’m just grateful that she 50% believes me.
“Well, I guess. Can I ask a question, Chitose?”
“Ask me? For plans going around the festival with Himari-chan?”
“I’d definitely want to ask that, but that’s not really it. Chitose, how do you overcome something you’re not good at?”
I asked the same question to Chitose that I had asked to Tenshin.
Thanks to Tenshin, I was able to get some good advice. But I still don’t know how Seira can use her divine powers correctly.
That’s why I asked Chitose about it. It’s better to have many opinions.
“Where did this come from all of a sudden? Is there something you’re not good at with Yuugo?”
“Umm… something like that,” I said, agreeing. Explaining to Chitose about Seira’s divine powers not being able to cast correctly will only confuse her.
“Overcoming something I’m not good at…” Chitose said, pondering. She is taking this seriously.
As expected, having a friend is the best! I’m always grateful for your kindness, Chitose.
“I guess you’ll just have to practice what you’re not good at over and over again,” she said after a while.
“You know that I’m not that good at softball, but I still practice anyway. Maybe you should do the same.”
“Practice…”
But she had already tried that, right? On a couple of occasions on campus, but Seira failed in using her divine powers.
“Ah! But practicing is not enough! You have to think about how you’ll be practicing.”
“Think about what you’ll be practicing?”
“Yeah. You have to visualize how you can overcome your weaknesses. Also, maybe asking others for their advice is a good idea.”
Asking for advice from others. That really sounds good.
Maybe this problem can’t be solved by Seira and me alone.
If so, I’ll have to find someone who can give Seira some good advice.
“Well? Did it help you a little?”
“Yeah. Thanks a lot, Chitose.” I thanked her. As I said this, Chitose looked away embarrassingly for some reason.
“I-Is that so? I’m glad. Though it’s a little embarrassing telling that straight to my face.”
Chitose’s face turned slightly reddish. I guess telling someone honestly was a little embarrassing.
“Ah! That’s right! Yuugo, do you know this legend from the school festival?”
“Legend? What is it?”
“Yeah. So this legend is─”
While talking about the legend of the school festival, Chitose and I ate our lunches.
This lunch that I had with Chitose in almost a week was delightful.
