“Damn, I didn’t have any good ideas yesterday because of Tsukimiya and the others.”
The following day, I was working alone on the cultural festival coming up in about two weeks.
A majority vote decided that our class would have a maid café for the festival, and Tenshin called for me to help with preparations during my free time starting today.
So here I am, making decorations for the maid cafe using origami.
All the other classmates were doing the same as me. The attendance rate was 100%.
That’s the idol of the school for you. It’s incredible how Tenshin can get the whole class together just by calling out to them. Her charisma is unbelievable.
By the way, Tsukimiya was in the girls’ locker room with the rest of the girls from class to take measurements for their maid uniform. If she had been here, she would have kept calling for me, saying, “Yuugo, Yuugo.”
“Still, isn’t there something that I can do?”
As I continued my work, my thoughts went back to Seira’s divine power.
Last night, I was desperately trying to figure out what I should do to help Seira master her divine powers, but I couldn’t come up with any good ideas.
As I said to Seira yesterday, There is little we can do as long as we don’t know why she keeps failing to use her divine powers.
“Hmm… What should I do?”
I muttered and let out a small sigh.
“What’s this? Why is Yuugo-kun sighing?”
A familiar voice suddenly came from behind me.
I looked back quickly and saw Tenshin standing in front of me.
“Te, Tenshin…”
Tenshin is grinning broadly at me. She’s too cute. Seeing Tenshin’s smile this early in the morning makes today a great day.
“What’s wrong with you, being so absent-minded? Ah! Maybe there’s something on Himari’s face?”
“No, no, of course, that’s not the case…”
I can’t openly tell her that my mind is in turmoil because of the sudden appearance of someone I like.
“Then Yuugo-kun. We’re running low on origami paper and construction paper for decorations, so can you help and get some?”
“Ehh… O-Okay.”
Will I be okay? I can feel dozens of boys looking at me murderously. I wonder if they’ll kill me later.
“Yuugo-kun, hurry up, and let’s go!”
“O-Okay!”
I was worrying for my life when Tenshin suddenly pulled my hand.
The feeling of holding hands with Tenshin is such bliss.
“So, why was Yugo sighing just now?”
After we left the classroom, enjoying this happiness and walking down the corridor, Tenshin asked from my side.
Perhaps she’s worried about me, and she wanted to talk with me alone?
Tenshin truly is kind!
“Is it that obvious?”
I can’t tell her, most probably. Because how would I explain to her that a god of romantic comedy couldn’t use her divine power properly, and I wanted to do something about it, but couldn’t come up with a good idea. So I just sighed. Probably a bad idea, right?
“Yuugo-kun, if you have any problems, you can always tell Himari-sensei! Himari-sensei can solve anything, you know!”
Tenshin said in a teasing tone, trying to get me to talk about my problems.
Though, I’m still not sure whether she’s trying to make it easier for me to open up to her with all her teasing.
I’m pleased about what she’s doing, but I still can’t talk about what I can’t talk about it.
“Then, I’ll just ask this one question.”
“What is it? You can ask Himari-neesan anything you want.”
Wasn’t it Himari-sensei? It’s incredibly sloppy, but it’s so cute.
“Tenshin… What do you do to overcome your weaknesses?”
Seira is doing everything she can to use her divine powers properly, which she’s not very good at using.
So even though I cannot talk to Tenshin about Seira’s divine powers, I think it will help if I ask her about overcoming weaknesses.
“Hmm… How to overcome what I’m not good at?”
“Well, Tenshin’s not bad at much, I think.”
She’s the school’s idol, has lots of friends, and is popular. It’s not an exaggeration to say that she has no weakness.
“That’s not true!”
Tenshin’s words, which came out of nowhere, were somewhat serious.
Did I offend her?
“Ah! I’m sorry. Tenshin’s not mad or anything, tee-hee.”
Tenshin said cutely.
“I, I see…”
What a relief. It’s not a laughing matter if I made the person I love upset.
“You see, Himari has a lot that she’s not good at either. Like exercising, working out, and physical activities.”
“That’s all the same thing.”
After she heard me say that, Tenshin chuckled.
“But you know, when I was in first grade, I had a lot of weaknesses. I wasn’t good at talking to boys, and I wasn’t good at being fashionable.”
“During the first grade…”
That was before she got a makeover. Come to think of it; when we went to the amusement park, I remember her saying that she never really got involved with boys before she started talking to me.
(TN: イメチェン, image change but I’ll just use makeover)
“So, how did you learn to talk to boys or get good at being fashionable?”
I asked Tenshin, who was walking next to me.
Perhaps the answer I’m looking for to my earlier question, “How to overcome weaknesses?” lies in this.
“You know… that’s─”
She stopped abruptly and looked straight back at me.
“At any rate, you just have to persevere and be patient!”
“Persevere and be patient…?”
“Yes, that’s right! Because if you persevere about something you’re not good at, there must be a specific goal you want to achieve. So, for that goal, you should never give up, but persevere and work hard to overcome your weaknesses.”
There was a lot of power in Tenshin’s words. Considering how much effort she must have put into her makeover, it was hard to imagine.
But why did Tenshin go through such lengths?
When we went to the amusement park before, Tenshin said she did the makeover because she wanted “someone” to say she was cute. So did she make an effort for that “someone”?
Her parents? A friend? Don’t tell me; it’s someone that Tenshin likes?
“Yuugo-kun, can Himari talk to you about something important?”
I was making various speculations when Tenshin called out to me.
For some reason, her cheeks are a bit red.
An important talk? I wonder what it is.
Maybe it’s about someone she likes? Could it be that she had found someone already?
I don’t want to hear it. I don’t want to hear such things. If I heard that I had lost Tenshin, I’d be absent from school until the following year.
As I was thinking of such grim thoughts, what Tenshin said next was utterly unexpected.
“You know, umm… Would you like to go around with Himari for the upcoming school festival…?”
