Chapter 0: I Want to Create Yandere
“Do you have a type you like?”
When asked that, I answer immediately.
Yandere.
Yandere is supreme.
One moment they’re smiling and chatting, the next they’re saying or doing something tinged with madness. But that’s because of love… And they treasure me most, they need me most. What other existence could there be like that!
My encounter with yandere was in my second year of middle school.
It was from an anime I happened to watch.
That anime was a romantic comedy about the protagonist and his childhood friend—a so-called romcom. In it, there was a girl who served as a romantic rival who fell for the protagonist.
In the first half, she was a cheerful character, but in the second half, her dark past was revealed—she’d been abused by her parents.
However, when the protagonist accepted that past, she developed feelings for him and simultaneously, as if her character had changed, she began monopolizing the protagonist and interfering with the heroine.
She constantly demanded contact, called him crying, clung to him saying she couldn’t live without him… the classic yandere behaviors!
The protagonist and the others overcame her as an obstacle together, and by promising to support her future, they were united in a happy ending.
But halfway through, I stopped caring where the story was going. I was completely fixated on that yandere girl.
Why can she love the protagonist so much? Why can she act so much for his sake?
Well, basically, it’s the gap.
The gap between her usual smile and her madness, the feeling that she can’t function without me—I think this is yandere’s charm, its genius.
So this is the high school I’ll attend for three years.
I enrolled this spring. And here I’ll find the ultimate yandere!
That’s my goal for these three years of high school.
I was all fired up, but now I find myself in a desperate situation.
Incredibly… it’s been a week and I haven’t found even a hint of yandere in anyone!
I didn’t have much time after awakening to yandere in middle school, so I figured with more people in high school, there’d surely be tons of yandere…
I was plunged into the depths of despair.
What motivation do I have to live these three years…!
I wallowed in that sadness for several days…
Then I realized something. Wait, if there are no yandere, couldn’t I just create them myself?
Even in stories, many people aren’t yandere from the start. Through involvement with the protagonist, their talent awakens and they become yandere…
Which means—if I play that protagonist role, if I make people who interact with me into yandere, I could fill the world with yandere, right?
This is the story of me taking on the challenge of making all of humanity yandere.
Chapter 1: I Want to Awaken Dependent-Type Talent — Step 1: Talent Searching
I steeled my resolve and headed to the classroom with renewed determination.
Hmm, first I should look for someone with dependent-type talent.
By the way, did you know there are several types of yandere?
Well, it may not be official, but generally eight types are recognized.
Those eight types are:
Dependent, possessive, worshipful, delusional, aggressive, eliminator, stalker, and harmless.
For now, let me explain the dependent type.
This matches characteristics like lacking self-confidence, fearing being alone, and tending to obsess.
This is said to be the most common yandere type—the so-called romance-prioritizing mindset.
It’s the type that thinks they’re not themselves unless they’re in love.
Because they lack confidence, they thoroughly love those who recognize them. Two is better than one.
They love themselves when they’re in love.
What a wonderful trait.
I swoon.
Wait, this isn’t the time to swoon.
By the way, what kind of person has dependent-type talent?
For example, people confident in their appearance who’ve lived bright lives, or people who value friendship over romance—it’s hard to say they have this talent.
On the other hand, people with these characteristics likely have the talent: not very confident in their appearance, somewhat dark pasts, and regardless of whether they have many or few friends, tend to weight romance more heavily than friendship.
Hmm, let me observe my classmates with that perspective.
I look around.
Since it’s been a little over a week since enrollment, groups are starting to form.
From the so-called first-tier flashy groups, to somewhat lively groups, quiet groups, and the loners.
Incidentally, I’m sometimes in groups and sometimes alone. I’ve positioned myself quite well for searching out yandere candidates.
My initial positioning is perfect.
Hmm, I can’t tell just by watching…
Just as I’m thinking that—
A mechanical pencil falls.
When she notices, she quickly goes somewhere.
Hmm, she has a shy personality it seems, doesn’t interact well with people around her, and is always alone.
I think some people like being alone, but she always seems conscious of others’ eyes, so I don’t think she’s comfortable being alone.
As I’m spacing out thinking about this—
“Takashiro, what’s up? You’re spacing out.”
A classmate calls out to me.
“Nah, I was just thinking Sugisawa-san is always alone.”
When I say that, he tells me various things.
Apparently she was bullied in middle school, and because of those rumors, classmates are hesitant about how to approach her…
I see, that’s why she can’t proactively approach others and always looks unconfident.
What a waste!
Her lack of confidence is a trigger for loving someone who treasures her even more!
Even a slightly dark past, if she meets someone who understands, can help her like her current self more and lead to loving that person more!
And all of that becomes nourishment for creating an even more wonderful her!
I’ve decided to awaken her dependent-type yandere talent.

“I can fix her”? NAH: “I can RUIN her”
Make a yandere? Mc us a massive redflag trash abuser for sure
