Wives of the Battle God! - Chapter 13- He will protect us...
“But sir…how did we discover the Veil in the first place?”
One of the students after a long pause asked in an uncertain tone, voicing the question that most of the students had in the classroom.
It was a primary grade knowledge that the Veil which the Higher Gods created to save Nebula from its destruction, was impossible to discover whatever means are utilized
If Demons were mindless creatures who liked to slaughter other beings, then humans were no better either.
Rather, humanity preserved even more dangerous traits which were the reason why this chaos even begin in the first place.
And now this scary officer explicitly announces that not only the Veil has been just found but it’s depleting as well.
Despite being the students of the ‘S’ unit, it was too much horror for them to even imagine what hell would bestow if history repeats itself.
“We haven’t sensed or witnessed the presence of Veil… Rather, there have been sightings of some inhuman creatures on the outlands of Southern plains.”
The eyes of most of the students were stretched to their widest reach since the creatures mentioned were undoubtedly irrational beings mainly known as Demons.
Until now students thought that there could have been uneven energy readings but to think those being have already breached the Veil…
“Soldiers have been dispatched and the necessary arrangements has been done for the safety of borders but if things really are going the worst way possible… there left no choice but to fight with everything we have, right?”
The room went silent as the man finally made it clear what the students had to do with all this absurd situation.
They are going to train the students of Xylex Academy and if things went south, then the Capital may sortie them as well to fight humanity’s greatest fear.
The feeling of dread and fright was so profound among the students including Gisele that they forgot whether they even had the right to reject this arrangement or not.
Or more like, protesting against this training or avoiding the possibility to engage in war seemed stupid to the brilliant students of the ‘S’ unit.
If war really breaks out, there wouldn’t be a single place to hide. Ultimately, even a toddler has to fight their way to remain alive for another second.
Ethan was calm and collected all this long. It was true that catastrophe was rising but there wasn’t anything he can do to stop it. He just can save those whom he finds close to him.
After a brief pause, when the burly man saw no queries arising, he continued with his announcement.
“From today onwards, other than artifact building and other strategic studies nothing would be done on paper. Everyone is now liable to give their all to become an asset for the Empire and humanity through the teaching we will be providing. No further questions!”
The conclusion was done in a strong tone which brought back the students from their daze as they saw the man leaving the class.
Soon the homeroom professor, who was a woman in her late thirties, entered the class. Her generally calm and serene expression was clouded with stress and slightly weariness even it was early morning.
“As you guys heard from General Raezar, from now on the regular studies would be brought to an indefinite halt. We would now focus… ”
The class began not so long after and the students despite being flustered with the chain of heavens trembling events, still took their digital pads and started to note down the content being taught.
It was related to PSF(Prevalent Spell Formation). The type of spell formation which is not limited to any kind of trait. Until a person has magical energy in them, they can cast these kinds of spells.
Ethan had no interest in learning something he already have used for ages so he glanced back and rested his eyes on his wife.
Coincidently Gisele was also looking at him rather than writing the content which would have been unsurprising, given how much she seemed to be terrified some moments ago.
Her gaze wasn’t cold or anything like that. She was just seeking reliance and something which could make her feel secure.
And the warming gaze she received from Ethan was everything she needed to breathe off some of her stress.
Even though she doesn’t know how he was able to relax her just from a single glance, there was a certain thing she was sure about…
‘For some reason, I feel… he will protect us…’
