With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 97- Rescue
“Young lady Akira has betrayed us, Sire. She was told to report back at the hideout but with the target, she fled to an unknown location and turned off the GPS device which we thought that she hadn’t discovered yet.” The hooded man who attacked the ceremony and clashed blades with the Sword Saint informed the ancient vampire to whom he served.
The man with silver hair remained seated on his throne without any particular reaction—almost like he expected this.
“All those stories and tales I told her became her obsession.” The man cursed his past self for filling his daughter’s head with Aldric and his brave feats.
The ancient noble vampire who awakened in the country of Japan—Darius Vesper had been handed the role of decapitating the hound dog of the still-sleeping Sovereign. The reason was simple. No one can stop Sovereign from awakening and to regain his former glory the said Monarch would need his most trusted subordinate: Aldric.
The Independent Vampire Council couldn’t bear to have another war and not even in a thousand years, they could allow themselves to get dominated by one being.
And to weaken the Sovereign it was extremely necessary to snatch away his most precious guard.
Darius clenched his fist in annoyance and commanded in a stern tone, “Find them and bring them to me; alive or dead.”
The hooded figure didn’t respond and just disappeared.
Darius couldn’t bear the responsibility of the downfall of the vampires. He has to act fast and get rid of Aldric—even if he has to wage a war against humans for that.

It has been a day since Yuki was brought here. For the past twenty-four hours, he has been thinking about several things—mostly related to the story that Akira told him.
Her story may be made up, but the fact that he drank her blood was real. He knew he wasn’t fooled by some spell. That vivid sensation of her warm and delicious fluid sliding down his throat was just too real to think otherwise.
Just thinking about it made him parched as he grabbed the water bottle from nearby and gulped three mouthfuls.
“Controlling your urges would force you to attack anyone.” Hearing Akira’s suggestion made him frown.
Why does she need to talk rubbish every time she opens her mouth?
“So I will start hunting any person I come across?”
“More or less. But because of low compatibility, you won’t be able to gain nutrition through their blood and might end up killing them.”
Yuki exasperatedly sighed, “Do you have any proof of it? Like you bring up some nonsense time after time and assume that I would believe in you?”
“I know you won’t…not yet. But since you would be staying here with me for long, you would slowly start to believe in me as well.”
Yuki snorted, “Yeah, yeah. Think whatever you want.”
Yuki raised his arms and stopped arguing. This girl was not mentally stable he had already realized it.
Walking around the room, he looked at the ancient painting which looked older than a hundred years. The painting depicted some fine detailing of a shadowed ruler sitting on their throne and several miniature humans worshipping the ruler.
The short tranquility was soon broken,
“Okay, how about it? Last time you unconsciously drank my blood so you weren’t able to regain any of your memories. This time maybe—”
“Nope, I ain’t drinking it again.” Yuki couldn’t mutter out that it felt disgusting since that sensation was anything but that. What he feared and became the reason for his rejection, was the fact that he might get addicted to sucking her blood in no time.
People need to do or consume things several times to become addicted to it, but Yuki knows that one or maybe two more times and he wouldn’t be able to live without that ecstatic sensation ever again.
“But to save yourself you need to regain your memories or I won’t be able to protect you for long.”
“Then why are you? Just let me go and leave me on my own.” Yuki spat in an annoyed tone. Why this girl was so adamant about protecting him? And protecting from whom?
“You don’t understand Aldric, just like my father there are many beings out there who won’t let you reunite with the Sovereign. They know how lethal you can be to their plans of regaining dominance over humans.”
Yuki calmed his nerves and after turning to look at her, he said, “First, my name is Yuki. And second, as I said before, I need some proof to believe what you are saying-”
“She is being honest, though.” Yuki and Akira both flinched and turned to look at the new arrival(s) in the room who appeared through a portal.
Akira’s eyes flashed dangerously as she threw something at the intruders—before even Yuki could have reacted.
*SHLING*
The sharp blade traveled at an unimaginable pace before it came to an abrupt halt as the target was too old to get tricked by something so trivial.
“Now, now. Is this way to greet your elder, Akira?” The silver-haired man who resembled Yuki a lot grinned at a fuming Akira.
Yuki’s attention remained on his biological parent for a moment before he shifted his gaze to the two young ladies who rushed in his direction.
Yuki caught Shio and Maya in his arms and finally felt his mind calming down. The restlessness he had been feeling after waking up here seemed to have just disappeared once he had his loved ones in his arms.
This sensation cannot be compared nor can anyone steal from him.
“Yuki-kun…are you okay?” Shio was the one who broke the silence between them first as she asked in a trembling tone.
The courageous facade she has been wearing until now seemingly began to crumble.
Yuki softly caressed her back and assured the two, “I am completely fine and healthy. Thank you for coming for me.”
“There is nothing you need to thank for, Yuki-sama. As your l-lovers, we would always come back to you, wherever you are.”
It was adorable how Maya still stutters to call herself his lover.
However, he could fawn over her later. There was something more urgent to focus on.
“Illusion Fox. That’s what your name is right, General?” Akira smirked at the man who had been living as Kurokawa Yuiichi for some time now amongst the humans.
“Well, it was good times….until you guys didn’t decide to show up.” Yuiichi sighed as he twiddled with the kunai casually.
“What a cringe-ass name. Well, since you are here, why don’t you tell Yuki-kun about his origin?” Akira said nonchalantly as she leaned on the cupboard and gestured toward the boy.
Yuiichi seemed hesitant as he glanced in Yuki’s direction, before he asked Akira, “Have you awakened him?”
“Yep~but he didn’t regain his memories.”
Yuki frowned and this time asked his older version, “What memories? And what are you two even talking about?”
Yuiichi sighed. This wasn’t the best way to tell Yuki about his origin and the things he had done to keep Yuki away from knowing it. However, he doesn’t have any options now. The Vampires have started to act since the Sovereign was about to wake up from his slumber.
Focusing on his son, Yuiichi asked, “Yuki…when you gained these powers of yours…you saw a goddess, right?”
“–!!!”
A chill ran down Yuki’s spine hearing those words and he was left momentarily speechless.
Maya and Shio grew worried for him but didn’t say to interrupt them yet.
In a tone that signified his bewilderment, he asked, “How do you know about it?”
Yuiichi’s expression turned stiff as he finally confessed, “….that was an illusion I replaced with your true memories. That was your second awakening that only could have been triggered if you had received any fatal injury. ”
After a pause, Yuiichi added, “That day, you nearly died and unlocked your skills which have been lying dormant inside you. I have just set up an illusion in your head, in such a way, that it made you feel like you wished for those skills. However, in reality, these powers were your own from the beginning.”
“….”
