“Happy birthday, Yuki!”

“Ah, Nee-san…” Yuki received a warm hug from his sister early in the morning as he groggily sat on the bed.

Either side of his was empty signifying that he was the only one who got tired after that last night’s session.

Fortunately, there were no stains of their passionate lovemaking which could have made things awkward in Amaye’s presence.

“Here is your gift.” She handed him a small box which was wrapped in a blue cover and a red ribbon tied at the top. Yuki shook the box and no sound came from inside.

“What’s in there?”

“Eheh~just a watch. Next year, when I will save a lot, I will give you something better.”

Seeing her embarrassed smile, Yuki brought his hand over hers before sharing his genuine thoughts,

“Even a pebble from you is precious to me, Nee-san. It’s the thought that matters.”

Amaye’s smile broke as she looked at him with dazed eyes.

“…when did you grow so mature?” Her hand cupped his cheek and her head tilted to the right.

“Haha…let’s get up now. I need to freshen up and prepare.” Yuki brushed it off before getting down the bed and sliding his feet into the slippers.

Amaye also got up before she went to prepare some tea for her brother and the other two.

“Where is Maya and Shio?” Yuki asked, upon finding the bathroom and training room empty.

“Maya went to the cafeteria to bring something for you and Shio is outside.”

Yuki raised his brows in confusion. He went past his sister and walked toward the entrance of the cabin.

The dark clouds of December didn’t hurt Yuki’s eyes as he found Shio crouching near the flowerbed which was on the other side of the path.

“We are not allowed to pluck them, you know.”

“Ah! Yuki-kun….you gave me a heart attack.” The way she reacted, it was clear that she was doing something that was not allowed.

Yuki smiled at her before offering his hand.

“Thanks.” Shio took his hand before allowing herself to be pulled…into his arms.

“Haah…how warm and comfortable.”

“Y-Yuki-kun…we are outside.” Although it felt very nice being embraced by her boyfriend, Shio’s embarrassment didn’t allow her to enjoy the sensation to the fullest.

“Who cares? And, in the first place, almost every student has gone back to their homes already-”

“How shameless!”

Before Yuki could have assured her that no one would see them in this intimate manner, suddenly, someone shouted at them.

Yuki grumpily turned his head…only to find an irritating person standing there.

“It’s you Kuroi…”The short brown-haired girl, who was ranked fourth until Yuki didn’t join the Tower—Hiyashi Kuroi stood there with a red face.

“Despite having Maya-sama as your lover…y-you lecherous man!”

Yuki raised his brows hearing how she addressed Maya. Then he remembered that Kuroi admires Maya.

“Yuki-kun? Who is she?”

“Ah, ignore her. Just a tsundere character who can’t accept defeat.”

“Who are you calling a tsundere?!”

Kuroi rebuked him with her face now turning even redder.

Shio was troubled seeing the commotion as she told Kuroi, “Kuroi-san, I am thankful for your concerns toward Maya-san, but you are assuming something wrong here.”

“I don’t want to hear that from a home-wrecker like you.”

*Bulge*

A thick vein bulged on Shio’s head as she smilingly kept her eyes constant on Kuroi.

However, Yuki tensed up. Knowing Shio, he knew she wouldn’t let that insult slide easily.

“What did you say?”

“Home-wrecker, that’s what you are. With that massive chest, it’s no wonder you seduced him.”

Yuki released Shio. Although he was pissed, he allowed Shio to get back at Kuroi for the insult she threw at Shio.

However, before the two girls could have gotten themselves into a battle, suddenly, someone appeared behind Kuroi.

“Ahh!!” Kuroi yelped as suddenly, Maya gripped the back of her neck and lifted the girl.

Kuroi flailed her body and tried to get herself free from Maya’s hold…but to no avail. Maya was just too strong for Kuroi.

Yuki was surprised to see that Kuroi didn’t use any of her skills to hurt Maya…maybe because of the respect Kuroi carries for her?

“Apologize.”

Maya’s bone-chilling voice was colder than the weather itself.

With her voice choked, Kuroi somehow muttered, “I-I am sorry!”

*Dhak*

Maya released her grip and Kuroi fell to the ground.

“*Cough* *cough*”

Kuroi coughed her face turned blood red as she tried to inhale as much air as she could.

Maya wasn’t affected by that as she walked towards Yuki and Shio with her expression relaxing.

Yuki was not going to bother with Kuroi since this was not the first time she insulted him or the people close to him. However, Shio was not like him.

Dashing towards the girl, Shio used healing and recovery magic to heal her swollen veins and deformed neck muscles.

Yuki sighed seeing the spectacle, before he held Maya’s hand and walked towards Kuroi.

She looked far better than before but her breathing was still quite troubled.

Yuki crouched down before helping her to get up and sit on the cabin stairs.

She didn’t resist, nor said a single word even though she had recovered pretty well.

“Kuroi-san, I know that you respect and care for Maya but do you think, I could have formed a secret relationship behind The Maya Karuizwawa’s back?”

Maya blushed slightly hearing such high praises from her lord, but she didn’t interfere.

“As Shio said earlier, you are assuming something wrong here. I am dating both of them, and Maya and Shio have agreed to this relationship.”

Kuroi has already understood that much, given how Maya reacted when she insulted Shio. And now, all Kuroi was feeling was guilt and embarrassment.

Turning her attention toward Shio, she bowed her head and uttered,

“I am sorry for what I said earlier. I was hasty to jump to the conclusion.”

The sincerity in her voice was enough to signify that she indeed was sorry for her words.

Shio smilingly held her hand and assured her, “I didn’t take your words to heart, so don’t worry. ”

Yuki didn’t say anything but he also didn’t hold any grudge toward her. Kuroi was a little childish and very loud, but she wasn’t a bad person.

“Alright then, how about we all have breakfast together?”

Yuki suggested, trying to release the tension from the air, however,

“Uh, thank you for the offer but I need to prepare for my departure. There is a big ceremony where I need to appear today.” Kuroi sighed in slight exasperation.

Yuki turned his eyes toward Maya and found her looking back at him.

Kuroi tilted her head, “Is there something wrong?”

“Kuroi-san…perhaps are you joining the Christmas Celebration hosted by the Kurokawa clan?”

Kuroi widened her eyes, “That’s right, but how…ah! Maya-sama must be invited to that event as well!”

Kuroi thumped her fist on the other hand palm in realization.

Yuki turned his attention toward Kuroi before he asked, “Hey…are you going there with any guards?”

“Huh?”
