With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 62- Intention?
Around six in the evening, the Shirazawa siblings returned to the cottage.
Maya was still waiting on the porch. Once her gaze landed on the approaching figure of Yuki, it seemed her spirit had returned to her body.
It had been more than an hour since they left so she was starting to get nervous. However, thankfully, both of them returned safe and sound.
“Why are you sitting here?” Yuki frowned and immediately took off his coat to drape it over her shoulder.
Maya’s skin was deathly pale and cold, which elevated Yuki’s concern. However, the way she was smiling wordlessly, didn’t allow him to reprimand her any further.
In the end, he sighed and led her and his Nee-san inside the room.
Yuki’s heart warmed up upon seeing Shio’s sleeping face. Gazing at her relaxed visage with her small lips slightly parted made his shoulders slump in relief.
“Let’s not disturb her.” It was given that not only Maya but his sister had many questions to ask him, and that’s why Yuki first cast a noise-isolating barrier around the bed so Shio continue sleeping.
“Please have a seat while I prepare coffee for us.”
Maya got up to help Yuki, but the latter just shook his head with a smile and told her to accompany Amaye.
….once again, Maya lamented for being so good-for-nothing when it came to culinary skills.
‘I will surely visit the library tomorrow…’ Clenching her fist in determination, Maya didn’t know how she subconsciously made Amaye tense up.
The two women didn’t talk much, indicating how things were still awkward. And it was justifiable, considering how little to no interaction Amaye had with Maya in the past.
Soon, Yuki returned to the table with a tray in hand. He didn’t know much about preparing beverages, but normal milk coffee was easy to brew even for him.
As Maya and Amaye took their cups, Yuki took the seat beside Maya and finally began to narrate whatever happened back in the office.
Maya’s reaction was jumping from shock to dread since she very well knew the strength the Sword Saint carries in his blades, and the fact that Yuki was alone with him in a room, greatly horrified her.
“It explains why the school allowed an outsider to meet a student.” Amaye’s words were met by a hum from Yuki.
Not any random person could visit the Tower to meet their ward, even in the case of an emergency. However, Kurokawa Ryouya was a Hero amongst Heroes. A living legend and a person who has given his age of youth to retain the peace of Japan.
Surely, he must have enough connections and favors with some prominent individuals to grant him a visit.
“Then those calls from your parents…” Maya’s question was answered by Amaye as she brought up her phone and showed it to Yuki.
“I didn’t check it beforehand, but while you were in the room with the Patriarch, I felt like opening the mail.”
Yuki took the phone from Amaye which had the mail sent under the name of his father. Maya also tilted toward Yuki to read the message…only to find her eyes slightly widening.
“…they were warning me about Patriarch’s arrival since yesterday, eh?”
Yuki dryly chuckled upon reading the message which explicitly told Yuki to take sick leave or make some excuses to skip this meeting with the clan Patriarch.
“Why would they warn you? And, in the first place, would it have mattered?” Amaye wondered loudly.
Given the reach of the Sword Saint, even if Yuki would have made excuses or worst case, escaped the Tower and hid somewhere in the town, it wouldn’t have taken one or maybe two days for Ryouya to find him.
Yuki and Maya knew this all well, however, the silverhead youth was more concerned about this mail.
“Yuki-sama…I don’t whether I should say it…but I think your parents are trying to get in your good books.” Maya, despite being almost a hundred percent sure about her statement, seemed to hesitate to voice those words.
However, Yuki just shook his head at her and dismissed her worries, “You don’t need to be cautious to speak about them, Maya. For me, you, Nee-san, and Shio matter the most, so speak freely.”
Maya’s heart leaped a beat when she felt her hand being enveloped by a familiar warmth.
Receiving the allowance from her Lord, Maya continued,
“Just like us, Kurokawa Yuiichi-san also knew about the fact that it’s baseless to hide from Patriarch Kurokawa, so why would he suggest something so needlessly? And also, when he hasn’t spoken to you for ages.”
Maya’s words were indeed questionable and helped Yuki erase all his doubts. Amaye was also forced to take Maya’s point into consideration and realize how Kurokawa’s eldest was still playing his mind games.
‘But that man…to stoop so low…’ It wasn’t like Yuki was feeling empathy for his biological parents, rather he was pondering about any hidden intent behind this approach.
In the end, he decided to leave the topic at rest for now. After all, there was something more concerning in his hand that Yuki needed to take care of.
His way toward freedom.

“Mmm…” Shio mumbled uncomfortably with her brows frowned. Her dry throat basically brought her slumber to rest.
The first person on whom her eyes landed was Amaye, who was currently reading something on a terminal with keen eyes.
“Amaye-nee?” For half a minute, Shio wasn’t able to discern how Amaye was present here, but when her memories began to reel back, Shio panicked.
“Wait…where is Yuki-kun?!” Shio yelled and nearly tripped in an attempt to jump on the floor.
Amaye was broken out of her reverie upon hearing the anxious voice of Shio before she got up to calm the girl down.
“It’s okay, he is back. Nothing happened, so calm down.” Amaye patted the little girl, and it seemed to work well, as Shio soon began to take deep breaths and nodded thrice in understanding.
Her eyes landed on the water bottle before Shio pointed toward it wordlessly like a child.
Amaye giggled at her behavior. She brought the bottle from the table and uncapped it before extending it toward Shio.
After taking three and four large gulps, Shio finally asked about Yuki’s whereabouts.
“He is in the training room, with Maya.”
Shio nodded and thanked the lady before she skipped her way toward the training room.
“Yuk-…” Her cheerful visage soon turned solemn and not so long after, a sense of trepidation flashed in her eyes.
“Yuki-kun!!”
