With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 61- Offer or command?
Why was Kurokawa Ryouya so widely known?
More than four decades ago, when Dungeons first appeared on the surface, mayhem befell on the side of humanity. No one had ever seen nor anticipated something like that.
Chaos elevated in no time. The order of the world was thrown into disarray with the shroud of peacefulness being torn and clawed by those otherwordly beings.
Humans were getting shredded like crops and humanity had no counter to defend themselves. Nuclear weapons would have only been possible if only there were one or maybe two sources of aggression.
The whole world was proceeding toward its descent.
At such times, when every hope was meeting its end, a group of people all over the world emerged as the ultimate counter.
The Awakends.
One of the seven initial heroes who brought back the balance after battling for weeks and months against the dungeon dwellers was the young Kurokawa scion as well.
Later that scion became one of the most prominent names across the globe, attaining the title of the Sword Saint. The man who upholds the world ranking at third place, and also, one of the strongest pillars, humanity could depend upon.
And that person was currently sitting just some meters apart from Yuki, for some unknown reason.

“It seems you are doing fine all by yourself.” The old man, despite being in his late sixties, held the look of a much younger person, and the skills he possessed even up to this age, were truly remarkable.
If anything, Yuki wanted to keep his sister safe if any unneeded altercation transpired.
“How can I help you, Patriarch?” Previously, Yuki was too shocked to realize how he had lost his right to call this man his grandpa.
Right now, Yuki was nothing more than a servant to him, and even such that, since officially Yuki was a part of the Kurokawa clan, albeit not of the core family. He was just hanging with a loose thread which Yuki intended to severe next month.
Ryouya’s lips thinned into a short smile as he noticed Yuki’s reservation. Well, not like Yuki’s perception toward him or the clan matter.
“I need you back in the clan.”
Amaye sucked on a sharp breath upon hearing that. To say that she didn’t expect it would be a complete lie, however, she never expected the person to pursue Yuki would be none other than the clan head.
On the other hand, Yuki’s demeanor remained the same as he stood strong on his feet and responded without any uncertainty,
“That wouldn’t be possible anymore, Patriarch.”
Yuki had no intention of changing his decision just because the Patriarch was himself here to give him the command. In the first place, Yuki was already prepared to face this man, given how he would have to join the Christmas celebration and announce his decision.
Things may have changed from the other end, but Yuki was not even considering wavering from his decision.
“So you say, but do you have any option?”
Ryouya’s words tensed Yuki’s muscles and made him completely ensure how this old man wanted to play. There was no negotiation here, which would have been laughable to even consider from him, rather, the Sword Saint was just here to claim his ‘thing’ back since now that ‘thing’ seems useful.
“I am soon going to end my relationship with the clan. And by the law-”
“Ah, cut the crap, Yuki. We both know how far behind I have left anything surrounding laws and rules, so let’s just be realistic here.”
Yuki shifted backward slightly as he saw the man getting up from his seat. Amaye was stuck between the wall and Yuki, but she didn’t dare utter a single word.
The very presence of this man was the worst nightmare for someone like her.
Ryouya casually strolled around the seat with his hands inside his pocket and halted just beside the wardrobe where numerous monster specimens were stored.
“And in the first place, you can merely plea for freedom, can’t demand for it. ”
Yuki clenched his teeth in frustration, “So are you here to assert dominance or something?”
Ryouya raised his brows before turning to look at his grandson, “You think I need to?”
It was apparent from the way Yuki was stuffed at a side, far from the old man, that he wasn’t in good standing at the moment and as such, Ryouya didn’t need to do anything in particular to intimidate the child.
However, Yuki just now realized how timidly he was behaving which made his mind numb for a moment.
‘Wait…why am I…’
Yuki trashed away all the needless thoughts. Took several long breaths and brought his body to a complete lull.
He needed to take this calmly.
“Nee-san…can you wait for me outside?” Hearing Yuki’s request, Amaye panicked and shook her head immediately, even though Yuki wasn’t looking at her.
However, before she could verbally deny his request, Yuki turned to look at her over his shoulder and asked, “Trust me…please?”
Amaye contemplated; she was forced to. Not so long after she sighed and nodded her head, “I would be just outside.”
Amaye might look like it, but she wasn’t a dunce to not understand how her presence was making it difficult for her brother to be himself. Her safety was holding him back and Amaye didn’t want him to keep on defensive stance.
Although she wanted to give him space, she didn’t walk away but just stood outside the office room…when suddenly,
“Amaye-san, you can look at them from here.” From the door beside the office room, the familiar face of the blue-haired professor popped out.
Amaye blinked, “Hai?”

Once Amaye was out of the room, Yuki seemed to be more comfortable than before. He nearly forgot that he had other skills than Barrier and Elemental ones. One of them was ‘Rebirth’.
If Ryouya really was here to harm Yuki, he would at least have his hidden cards to counter.
“I would rather fight the clan, rather than heed your command.”
Ryouya barely held himself from chuckling at how different this boy seemed without having any ‘baggage’ to look after.
Yes, this was the best version of Yuki that Ryouya wanted to see. A powerful heir to which he could transfer his sword. The individual who could become the next pillar of Japan and the Commander to hold the responsibilities of the clan.
In Ryouya’s eyes, nothing was greater than the reputation of the clan, and right now, Yuki seemed to be the perfect specimen to carry on his legacy.
However the fact, that Yuki was not only by appearance but his personality as well, somewhat the same as his grandfather, left the old man with no option but to proceed with cautiousness here,
“There is a way for you to earn your freedom, Yuki.”
The way Yuki’s temperament wavered hearing those words, assured Ryouya that this Christmas was going to be incredible Merry for him.
