With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 60- Helpless?
“Don’t worry; we will be back in no time.” Comforting the two, Yuki along with his elder sister, walked out of the cabin, led by the Senior Professor.
Shio and Maya stood near the porch gazing at the distancing back of their beloved, with complicated emotions weighing their heart.
“Do you think it’s someone from the Kurokawa clan?” Hearing Shio’s query Maya nodded without thinking much.
“Most likely…but then again, why did they try contacting Amaye-san when they had the power to meet Yuki-sama already?”
Maya was perplexed by the fact that someone had the authority to request a meeting with a student of the tower irrespective of their background. She had never heard of it before.
Shio shared similar thoughts but she was more on the expressive side, “Well, they are screwed in the head to keep pestering Yuki-kun.”
Maya raised her brows hearing such a rough tone from Shio before she turned to look at the brunette. Shio, unaffected by the judgmental gaze, continued in her previous tempo,
“How shameless they can be to approach Yuki-kun, after so long? I have seen how lonely and distorted Yuki-kun remained on days when he was getting bullied by other kids and had to face everything on his own. The fact that he was a disowned child of such a renowned clan just gave those creepy classmates, a chance to harass him.”
Taking a break, her gaze lowered toward the ground as she continued, albeit in a weaker tone,
“And I was so weak…so helpless that I only could watch him struggle against the world. In the name of support I only healed his wounds…but never was able to reach out to him emotionally…I was just…just a good-for-nothing friend to him…”
Tears welled in her eyes which ushered Maya to reach out for the girl. She wasn’t good at consoling people but she did her best to wipe her tears and pat the girl, as Yuki does.
Maya wanted to say a lot of things…to let Shio know how her presence in Yuki’s life was so crucial and how guilty Maya was feeling to be not there when Yuki was going through the worst phase of his life. She wanted to thank Shio and also appreciate the support she has provided to him all this time.
…however, Maya wasn’t able to voice any of those thoughts. How much she cursed herself or desired to share the grief of the girl, the blond maiden just couldn’t.
‘I hate myself more than anyone.’ Maya couldn’t help but feel her eyes moisten as well.
In the end, Shio fell asleep while standing on the porch and Maya transported her to bed.

Meanwhile, Yuki along with his sister were walking through the passage that led them toward the administrator’s office which was located in the second block, different from where the lectures are held.
Amaye was unusually silent, maybe because of the people they passed by or the domineering aura, Professor Kazuya possessed.
Her apprehension seemed even more evident when mid-way she held Yuki’s sleeve while keeping her gaze strictly straight.
Yuki wanted to comfort his sister but his mind was a little shaken up at the moment, to say anything to her.
Finally, after a ten-minute walk, they reached the corner most the office which belonged to no one else but the professor standing nearby.
The older one turned to look at the sibling before a heavy sigh left his throat, upon witnessing the anxiety both of them carried.
“I am sure that this must be tough for you. Considering your past and all, I know how it feels to face someone whom you surely hate…but be a little mature this time around as well, Yuki-kun. Despite your grudges, I request you to sustain your calm and look after your sister, alright?’
This was a rare case for this specific professor to be so considerate toward someone; however, in his current state of mind, Yuki didn’t pay much mind to it and simply nodded.
Kazuya glanced at the bespectacled girl standing beside Yuki before he punched the key code and opened the door for the two.
Yuki took a deep breath, held his Nee-san’s hand, and finally walked inside…only to erect several layers of barrier in an instant upon feeling the overwhelming aura waiting inside.
It felt suffocating…almost like a group of assassins were waiting to attack them…but,
“Good reflexes.” On the other side of his multiple-layered barriers, a voice called out for him…which seemed oddly familiar.
Yuki slowly called his barriers back as he heard the door closing behind his back.
As the vision cleared up, the image of an elderly man in his late fifties appeared to be sitting on the chair across them.
He had white long hair tied in a high ponytail, white neatly trimmed beard, and just like Yuki, the man also had crimson eyes.
‘Grandpa…’ A very thin, mosquito-like buzz left Yuki’s throat. The voice was so dim that even the person standing beside him, didn’t hear…however, the other person in the room clearly heard how Yuki addressed him.
A thin smile spread across the old man’s lips as he got up from his seat, only for Yuki to get once again on his guard, shielding his sister behind his back.
Truth be told, this man held the capability to kill Yuki with a flick of his finger, but that doesn’t mean Yuki would allow such a thing to happen without a decent fight.
Even Kazuya, who was on surveillance from the room from his secret cabin, raised his brows at how courageous the boy was to hold his ground in front of none other but the Sword Saint himself.
The smile on the old man’s lips stretched into a grin as he found his decision to visit the Tower, proven to be fruitful.
‘Definitely worthy…’
