With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 30- You are nothing to me
Yuki has invited the girl inside the house since creating a scene at his doorstep was not a good idea. He already had a bad reputation among his peers, and didn’t want to elevate it any further.
Maya looked fidgety, and rightfully was she, since the window she have gotten out of the sight of her maid was only limited to half an hour. Before the time lapses, she needs to return to her room.
Since her maid had to report things about what transpired today to the main house, Maya got herself some time with the excuse of visiting the library. The reason for taking such a massive risk which could ruin all the work she has put behind her acting for years was to clear up some misunderstandings with her betrothed.
Maya’s gaze sharpened at the brunette girl sitting on Yuki’s bed with lots of textbooks sprawled over but she didn’t mull over it. Maya was aware that Yuki had appointed his girlfriend as his maid so no point dwelling on the matter.
“What do you need, Maya? Don’t tell me you are here to suggest that slavery proposal once again.” Maya could feel the mana condensing around the brunette which signified that the girl liked Yuki more than Maya initially expected.
After all, hearing the word slavery attached to someone you love would surely affect her.
It made Maya both relieved and sad. Nevertheless, she moved toward the topic.
“In the cafeteria…it wasn’t me…I saw the perso-”
“Does it matter Maya?” Maya’s speech was halted by an annoyed interjection.
Yuki thought there could be a more pressing matter but hearing the reason for which the princess has to descend herself made him irritated. However, he kept his tone in check and firmly spoke to make her something clear, “It doesn’t matter whether it was you or someone else. Trust me, it doesn’t matter at all, since you are nothing more than a stranger to me by now. You have already hurt me more than what that juice carton could have so trying to come out clean about such a trivial episode…I didn’t expect that from you, Maya.” Yuki’s steps moved forward and with her eyes slightly stretched Maya found herself backing up, as Yuki continued, “You are the renowned Ojou of the Karuizawa family. No need to clear anything with useless and disowned trash like me, alright? Now then, if you excuse us, we have to finish our studies. ”
As he said Yuki stepped forward and closed the door on Maya’s face who already was out of the cabin.
Hearing the door being shut in her face, Maya finally walked out of her daze.
“Ah… ”
Her heart felt heavy, like a lump stuck in her throat she wasn’t able to mutter anything. She raised her hand to knock again on the door but soon dropped the idea.
What possibly she could say to change her image in his eyes? He hates her. He loathes her entire being. Abhors her presence and despises seeing her face.
Maya was delusional until now that there still was a chance that she could win her Yuki-sama back once she gains the strength to fight against her family and do whatever she desired in life.
But hearing his words and seeing those generally calm and kind eyes, filled with nothing but hatred for her, made Maya assure that where she stands in his life.
‘Right…what was I even expecting… ‘With a soft yet sad smile lifting the edges of her lips, Maya turned on her heels before descending the stairs.
‘He surely would hate me…after how I have treated him…how I never was there in his worst…and now that Yuki-sama has the strength to prove others wrong…I shamelessly brought my face in front of him and was expecting him to forgive me….’
Clenching her fist until her knuckles turned white and biting her lips Maya cursed herself under her breath, “How despicable….”
Maya doesn’t remember how long it was but it surely was after so long that Maya found herself crying and the rest twenty minutes she had left were utilized in a corner where no one could see the Heiress of such a prominent clan… emotionally breaking down into bits and pieces.

After closing the door on her face, Yuki remained still in his position for some seconds.
His heart was aching painfully remembering the look of grief and regret in her eyes but Yuki knew it was just his mind playing games on him.
The new version of Maya Karuizawa could never grieve over someone like him, whom she previously regarded as a worthless piece of junk. Maya didn’t hate Yuki since after his first awakening, as per what she said, Maya no longer regards Yuki as a person at all. He was like a passing breeze for her, someone she never would feel anything about.
So what happened today was just a petty explanation so Yuki doesn’t spread any rumors regarding the princess.
“Are you fine?” Suddenly Yuki felt a pair of arms crossing over his chest and a familiar warmth pressed on his back.
“Not really… ” Yuki turned before he leaned on the door and engulfed Shio in a hug, accepting her warm and soft body between his arms before finishing his words, “…she just walks in my life and disturbs its flow whenever she feels like…”
A brief silence ensued between them, before Shio said something in slight caution, “Please don’t be angry, Yuki…but I feel…I strongly feel that Maya-san was genuinely guilty about something and it was not just a trivial incident that you spoke about. Maya-san seemed to be repenting herself for something more severe. She….looked in pain. ”
Shio was aware of the small incident that occurred in the cafeteria in the tower but when she gazed at Maya today, Shio knew the lady had come to clear other misunderstandings, probably bigger than the juice box one, as well.
“It’s nothing like that Shio….you haven’t seen her real side that’s why you are pitying her. ” Shio didn’t reply to that and after closing her eyes she snuggled closer to her beloved.
Yuki’s eyes remained fixed on nothing constant as he muttered under his breath with a look of anger ignited in his eyes, ‘Whatever happens…she and I could never be together again…’
