‘As expected…’ I sighed while I walked toward the classroom.

Just as I thought, despite being regarded as innocent by the professor the students were still wary of me and murmuring about what a perverted guy I am.

When I was labeled as a degenerate then it was in front of everyone but when I was concluded as a victim, no one was there to witness.

It was good that everyone seems to be avoiding me since getting close to someone would only create problems for me afterward.

I took the backmost seat of the classroom which had me separated from the other students by three rows.

Last night I have been thinking a lot about that letter and what information did it give.

Indeed, the upperclassmen wouldn’t have gotten the information about my admission this soon which implies that I was tricked by a fellow freshman.

And the next and most vital information in the letter was, ‘The twins’.

There is only one twin in this class and those were the second and third-ranked students, Ryan and Anna Willson.

Two blond British transfer students who have proven to be better than most of the first year. I have not much information on those two but I have never seen the siblings even once together.

Ryan generally hangs out with his friends whereas Anna tends to be quite alone and occupied with herself. If we do not compare her to Maya then Anna was quite a beauty as well with exceptional talent in elemental magic and she’s great in studies too since she’s placed second in the rankings.

She might not be anywhere near Maya since the said girl’s mana reserve is mountainous in comparison to others but it doesn’t mean Anna is some regular girl.

And about her brother then I am more suspicious that he could be the preparator behind the incident. There hasn’t been any indication since he pretty much remains engaged amongst his friends or studies but it feels somehow that I should be wary of that guy.

“Okay, class. Today is a small research test that we will do in groups. I will give you some questions unrelated to your course and provide some books accordingly. You will be given an hour to write your theories based on what you find. Ah, and the one who finishes first would be given this!”

The brown-haired professor, Maki, announced today’s task which was a little unusual for homeroom. Or maybe I am still comparing this to the school where I previously studied.

As for the prize then she held an Absolute Potion which provides the boost of stamina, endurance, strength, and agility for a whole hour. On average, a fifty-millimeter vial that the teacher had in her hand would increase my stats by ten times.

It was a tempting prize but being aware of my academic knowledge I expected nothing from myself.

“Alright, now scramble.”

The students soon began to form groups amongst themselves. It was easy for them since they already have someone they generally hang out with.

…at the end, only two students were left alone and naturally, were paired together.

‘Talk about coincidence… ‘ I was just thinking about this girl some minutes ago, and here she was, Anna Willson in the flesh, beside me.

Four thick books were provided to us and many concerned looks from our classmates directed the blonde. Seriously, do they think of me as some kind of molester who would lay a hand on random girls?

‘Well, after yesterday…I think they might be having the exact same thoughts… ‘

With a sigh, I shook my head to wash away my useless thoughts before greeting the girl, “I hope we can get along…”

“Hmm.” Unsurprisingly she answered in a hum and more so she even covered her nose with a handkerchief for some reason.

I tried sniffing myself but there was not any stink at all. I washed myself thoroughly in the morning and also showered myself with deodorant so I am somewhat sure that I must not be smelling, yet…

‘Forget it. She might be just allergic to something… ”

I was about to take the book and try finding some answers when my gaze suddenly landed on the rapidly moving hand of Anna who was scribbling over the digital pad like she knew every answer beforehand.

“You already know the answers?”

She nodded and continued writing at the same pace.

I raised my brows in surprise seeing how brilliant the students of the tower are, since not only Anna but there were many who already have started writing without touching the books even for once.

“I guess we might come out first at this rate. ”

“Not until the top ranker is here. ” She talked for the first time and informed me something I have been completely negligent about until now.

How can I forget that Maya was also here?

‘Well, let’s just hope… ‘

I sighed before taking one of the books and trying to understand as much as I could in the meantime.

[After thirty minutes]

“We are done.”

“Congrats, Yuki-kun and Anna-chan. You both have ranked first in the test! ”

I was thoroughly surprised to hear the results this soon and more so when it wasn’t Maya who raised her hand first.

Let’s not think about how the professor checked all the theories in so little time but rather why Maya still hasn’t submitted her work?

‘Is it that…she is not that smart, or is today her bad day?’

“No. She deliberately lost to us.” I didn’t realize that I was muttering those words, to which Anna responded with something I could not easily believe.

“But why would she lose to us voluntarily?” I asked.

The blond didn’t speak as she took her things from the desk and got up only after leaving behind some uncertain remarks, ” Figure it out yourself. And take that prize since it seems that you need it.”

[Anna’s POV:]

‘Something about that guy is not right… ‘

Except for the fact that the Tsundere Maya indirectly gifted her fiance that tonic, there was something about that frosty-haired anomaly named Yuki.

I am sensitive to mana scents. I can identify people based on their distinctive and unique mana fragrances. It annoyed me initially but soon I gained tolerance for it. Not even high-grade monsters who possess the worst stink in the world bother me now.

However, this guy had a scent that I have never inhaled before. It was so sweet and alluring that I found myself getting directed at him whenever Yuki is around.

And today when I was told to sit with him, I almost got lost in a daze until he greeted me.

In the end, I had to use my artifact which blocks every scent around me. It’s convenient to have since it’s designed in the shape of a handkerchief.

Whatever it turns out to be, this case of Yuki Shirazawa is worth keeping an eye on.
