With great powers, comes a great harem! - Chapter 16- Evaluation~1!
[Yuki’s POV:]
“The fuck…”
I couldn’t help but curse even though Nee-san was around. The matter at hand was that mind-wobbling that I found a numbing sensation spreading across my mind.
Not only did Rurika Kaede not kill me for some unknown reason but she also gave me a letter of recommendation for the famous Witchcraft and Wizardry Tower.
Only finger-countable people get this letter to recommend someone to get enrolled in the tower and Rurika Kaede just granted me that exceptional opportunity.
Getting admitted to the Tower was nothing short of a miracle for someone who doesn’t belong to a prominent family or has a talent that could shake the world. And those who belong to strong backgrounds have to participate in assessments before they could enroll so it all depends on one’s individual talent and skills whether they would be studying in the most prestigious and renowned academy of the country.
In the past, I never dreamt of getting admitted here since I neither had the name of my family nor the skills to qualify as a student there. But now, I have a rare gain recommendation letter and skills to back my evaluation.
“Are you sure about this, Yuki? You know the rich kids are scary, right?”
Nee-san seemed worried about the idea. It’s understandable since I no longer was a part of the circle of high society and people would easily recognize me as the disowned heir.
Not to talk about that Maya was also there so things might get hectic when I have to see my soon-to-be ex-fiancee maybe daily.
However, the number of things I could gain from the Tower is enormous enough to negate any argument. I not only would be granted a certification of Tower Mage upon graduation but during the three schooling years, I would have access to those books which I could never find in local shops.
I would be provided with an environment where I could grow gradually and reach new heights.
And there is that event as well, which would let my ex-family know, how changed of a person I have become.
“I am sure, Nee-san. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance and there’s no way I would miss this.”
I spoke while staring at the letter before I directed my gaze at my worried sister as I brought my hand over hers and reassured her.
“I know that you are concerned that I won’t be able to fit there, but you forgot, I was also once a cocky bastard who loved to bully others. So stop making that face, Nee-san.”
There would be many complications but I know my motive and what steps I need to take to become someone who could laugh down at the person who has thrown me away.
I need to become stronger so I could beat the shit out of that old man who once reject my existence. And this letter was key to my goal.

“So you are going huh…”
It was around three when I came to meet Shio.
I heard from Nee-san that she was insisting on staying over last night since I was in a bad condition but Nee-san instructed her to go back home since her parents have been worrying about Shio a lot these days after the Dungeon rift incident.
Naturally, I would tell her about the recommendation letter since now she’s an important part of my life.
Seeing her saddened expression pains me and before I knew I voiced out my immediate thought, “Should I not go?”
Hearing my words, Shio blinked in surprise before she hurriedly shook her head and spoke out her disagreement, “No! I mean, of course, you should go. Don’t even think about rejecting such a one-in-a-lifetime offer, Yuki-kun. And since we would be able to meet once a week, that much is hefty enough for me.”
I know she was faking that smile, but as she said, this is my only chance to achieve something great in a brief time. Without gaining a hunter’s license I cannot do legal raids but while being a student of the Tower, I would be provided with such privileges that would help me grow at a fast pace.
And as Shio said, I would be allowed to visit home once a week, so I can maintain my relationship with Shio as well.
…only if I did know at that time, how obsessive my girlfriend could be, who would never get satisfied meeting me only once a week…

[2 days later]
The Tower of Witchcraft and Wizardry was situated on an island near Japan. The whole Tower was ten storeys and there were some buildings nearby for students’ dormitories and other necessities.
I was taken here by an Air Boat which runs on the fundamentals of an aircraft but it doesn’t fly rather it levitates over the water providing the enjoyment of a boat ride while saving fuel consumption.
When I saw the massive entrance of the Academy, I was awestruck. The picture over the web doesn’t do justice to its overall beauty and how calm this place seemed.
I was taken inside the evaluation room which had an entrance just beside the main one. My letter of recommendation has already been checked over thirty times by now, signifying how strict the rules and regulations this place preserves.
The people I have come across until now were all high-ranked warriors or ex-militant. I have nothing with me since carrying anything for evaluation was not allowed. If only I pass today, then I can bring my luggage.
Nee-san did want to come with me but she was not allowed to enter even the island without having a letter of allowance from an official.
“Student Yuki Shirazawa. Please stand on the mark and put your right hand over the orb.”
I did as I was instructed and brought my hand over to the mana sensor which measures one’s mana capacity and according to that one could proceed to the next evaluation stage.
“Now release your mana to the maximum output.”
The instructor told me before I nodded and focused on the orb.
According to my results, I would be given a grade based on which the difficulty of the next test would be presented before me.
Truth be told my mana simply has crossed the realm of an S-rank since my mana unit has crossed thirty million by now and if I pour everything, I think the instructor might faint.
If I get S-rank here then the upcoming tests would be something I might fail to pass. So it’s better if I remain cautious for now.
‘Okay…need to hold back… ‘ I have been practicing how to hold back my mana output for two days so I was somehow confident.
However…
“A-rank….?”
The parted mouth of the instructor tells the story that I was an exception to having an A-rank mana reserve for someone of my age. But aren’t their people stronger than me already in the academy?
Later I would find out why this lady was reacting such exaggeratedly.
‘It’s time for the next test.’

I fast-forwarded a little but don’t worry I would properly write the romance of the main couple from hereon.
