When My Younger Brother Stole My Girlfriend, I Began Living Together with My Beautiful Childhood Friend Almost As If We Were Married - Chapter 49
Chapter 49: Let’s Go Out For Fun
The next day, Reina and I met up with Fuyuka-san at the breakfast venue and discussed our plans for the day while having breakfast.
We talked about heading towards the Noto Peninsula for the second day, but since we didn’t do much on the first day, there was also the idea of spending a day in Kanazawa. Suggestions like visiting the market, tea districts, Kenrokuen Garden, art museums, and exploring the town came up.
There were endless things we wanted to do and places we wanted to visit. Since we still had plenty of time, it seemed fine to leave going deeper into the area for the days after tomorrow.
So, we decided on a trip around the nearby areas for today’s plan.
After filling our stomachs with delicious food, miso soup, croquettes, and hash browns for breakfast, we returned to our rooms and prepared to go out for some fun.
We packed our wallets, smartphones, and other necessary items into our bags and left the room.
Since it was hot today, we also brought along the complimentary water bottles we received and waited for Fuyuka-san in the lobby.
Meanwhile, Reina spread out the pamphlet and checked the route.
“Going from Omicho Market to Kanazawa Castle and Kenrokuen Garden seems like a good route. I think it’ll be easy to walk.”
“Huh, walk?”
“We can take the bus if you want, but wouldn’t it be more enjoyable to walk and see various things?”
“I’m fine with it, but… Reina, are you okay? Isn’t it hot?”
I was worried about her getting heatstroke. I didn’t want Reina to collapse.
“I have water, so I’m fine. There seem to be various shops along the way, so as long as we take breaks while walking, it’ll be okay.”
“If Reina says so.”
We’ll just keep an eye on her condition as we walk.
Since we had decided on the route to a certain extent, all that was left was to think about what to enjoy at each place.
And as we were doing so, Fuyuka-san arrived, looking cool in her dress.
“Sorry to keep you waiting~”
“That’s unfair. How can you look good in such a youthful dress? What kind of body do you have, sister?”
“I’m still in my early twenties with this outfit! But I’m still young, you know!?”
Fuyuka-san, who was indirectly told that she looked old, had tears in her eyes.
Since it seemed like it was about to turn into a fight, I intervened and urged them to leave the hotel.
We left the hotel and started walking towards Omicho Market. It took about a minute.
Fuyuka-san also found a nice-looking izakaya that we passed by, and she kept her eyes on it the whole time.
“Is sister interested in it too?”
“Yeah! Let’s have dinner there tonight.”
“Oh, it’s decided then.”
Our dinner plans for tonight were decided promptly.
After that, we walked straight for a while, but… it was still hot.
The sunlight was glaring, and it felt like sweat was pouring out from all over my body. I brought perfume to mask any odors, but I wondered if it was the right decision to put it on.
“Sorry, Hayato. Could you step away for a bit?”
“Huh…”
I was rejected without warning. Did I really smell bad…?
“I sweated a bit… I think I might smell. I don’t want to disappoint you.”
Although she said that while turning her face away, she was cute.
It’s a little late for that now, and I love everything about Reina, so I don’t mind at all.
I was a little scared that she might dislike it, but I took a deep breath, decided, and initiated a lover’s touch, intertwining our fingers.
“Eek! No… my hands are sweaty too…”
“I’m sweating a lot too. I don’t mind, and I want to hold your hand.”
“…Okay.”
The pressure between our intertwined fingers increased.
We firmly pressed our hands together to make sure they didn’t come apart.
“Should we go into a shop somewhere? I feel like having coffee now.”
Fuyuka-san, who was watching us with a smile, suggested, and suddenly, I felt embarrassed and started looking for a nearby shop.
Then, we found a section dedicated to vending machines in an air-conditioned indoor area, so we went there.
We entrusted our overheated bodies to the cool air and started cooling down. It was a bit chilly because of the sweat, but it felt good.
Reina seemed to feel the same way, as despite saying she was concerned about the smell earlier, she leaned closer to me, pressing her body against mine.
There was a thin layer of sweat on her forehead, so I took out a handkerchief and wiped it off for her.
“Mm, thank you.”
She thanked me.
And then, we heard the sound of clinking a few times, and saw that Fuyuka-san was stuffing multiple bottles of iced coffee into her bag.
“Sooo, shall we go?”
“Sister, isn’t that too much coffee?”
“I actually have ice packs in my bag, so it’s okay. They’ll stay cool for a while longer, so we can enjoy them.”
“I don’t mean that. Are you addicted to caffeine or something?”
“If I stay close to you two, I’ll end up with a sweet taste in my mouth. Water turns into sugary water right away, and without black coffee, I’d be heading straight for diabetes.”
Did we really get that carried away…!?
I thought we should tone it down a bit as we walked out of the building.
We walked through the hot town towards our destination, Omicho Market.
The signs with “this way” were prominent, and then.
“Ah, I see it!”
Reina pointed ahead.
Beyond the intersection, a magnificent building came into view.
