When I Reincarnated as the Villain of a Game World, I Created a Harem and Broke the Protagonist's Heart and Efforts! - Chapter 77 : Raid [2]
Chapter 77 : Raid [2]
The screams echoed through the streets of the Imperial capital at night.
The knight commander, once hailed as the strongest in the empire, met an untimely end at my hands.
The knights and mages, much like before, lost their composure, their mental state shattered to the point where they could no longer fight properly.
From there onwards, it was a one-sided slaughter.
I used magic, swords, and blood to eliminate them one by one.
Some of them rushed at me while being half-mad with fear, but they met the same fate as the others — death.
These were the knights who were supposed to protect the empire? How pitifully unreliable.
“Aaaaarghhh!”
“Shut up. Stop screaming.”
Their heads exploded and blood splattered around us.
Two knights stumbled over the fallen body.
A spear, jutting from the ground, impaled one through the heart.
Looking around, I noticed an empty space had formed around me. They still held swords and staves, but their hands trembled, and their eyes, full of terror, were fixed on me.
But even then none dared to approach me.
“Master, I’m going to use this blood.”
“Do as you like.”
[Blood Flower]
The blood of the knights I had just killed floated into the air, scattering around like blooming flowers.
The blood pierced through the knights’ armor, penetrating their bodies, and that of the mages. Screams rose from all directions, but they were soon followed by the dull thuds of bodies hitting the ground as silence took over.
The space around me widened further as Serena descended beside me.
“I scouted from above before coming here. There are quite a few of them. With just the five of us, it might take a bit of time.”
“It’s no problem. We’ll finish this soon.”
“Oh? Do you have some sort of secret plan?”
I answered Serena’s question with a glance.
Following my gaze, she turned to the opposite side of the mansion, where a massive block of ice appeared with a resounding crash.
Considering there’s only one among us with a strong affinity for ice magic, the culprit was obvious.
“…She’s really going all out, isn’t she?”
“Lilia will handle things on that side alone. If we pick up the pace here, we’ll be done soon. There doesn’t seem to be anyone left with their sanity intact, anyway.”
I glanced at the surrounding knights, who flinched violently at my gaze.
Now, it was only a matter of how long their minds could withstand the terror.
[Collapse]
Ten of them turned into red stains on the ground.
[Blood Death Rain]
Serena chanted a spell, extracting the blood from the fresh stains and gathering it into a sphere.
The sphere soared high into the air, then rained down on the knights and mages like a deadly shower — driven by clear intent to kill.
Around thirty corpses fell to the ground.
“Aaaah… nooo…!”
“I don’t want to die!”
“Please, no! I don’t want to die!”
In mere seconds, nearly forty men were slain, finally breaking the spirits of the remaining knights, who fled in terror. Even the mages, who usually possessed stronger mental fortitude, followed suit, driven by the knights’ panic, abandoning all pretense and fleeing for their lives.
“Oh my, they’ve run away. How pathetic.”
“Isn’t it rather human? To be so true to their desires — to turn their backs on the enemy and flee, driven by a desperate thirst for life. The raw display of human nature is fascinating.”
Indeed, this is what it means to be human. Knights, nobles, emperors — they all hide their desires, and that’s dull. Only by being true to one’s desires can a human be truly human.
“—But since they came here, I won’t let them leave alive.”
I focused my internal magic into my legs, enhancing my strength, and kicked off the ground.
In an instant, I overtook the knights and mages, standing before them.
Despair was etched across their faces as they looked at me like they were seeing a ghost.
“This technique… I’ve never used it in actual combat before. You should feel honored to be my test subjects.”
I began to materialize the ambient magic into a physical form. Then, I compressed it, gathering it with the surrounding air into a single point.
[Shrink]
The knights and mages before me vanished and a moment of silence enveloped the vicinity.
Then, in the next instant, a red sphere appeared at a single point and exploded.
Blood, chunks of flesh, pieces of armor that were once knights, remnants of robes, swords, and staves — all scattered around.
“Incredible… That was just perfect.”
I had been experimenting with magic compression, but to think materializing it and compressing it with air would produce such devastating power. This has a lot of potential uses.
However… it leaves a mess of flesh and blood, and it seems to deplete the surrounding magic from the atmosphere afterward.
As I pondered, I noticed the area around the mansion had fallen silent. It seemed the battle was finally over.
“Well then, shall we go and meet the Emperor.”

Sigh. This really has nothing to do with “breaking the protagonist’s heart and efforts”. It really is just about everyone who gets in Wraith’s way. What a rather dull villain. This is why I don’t like OP villains and protags, as it takes away much of the suspense. 😪
