The Advanced Magic Academy aims to deepen the understanding of magic among individuals with magical abilities and to develop their magical talents. This is not only to elevate the average magical level within the empire but also to secure a superior position compared to other nations. 

As a result, the empire obligates noble sons and daughters, as well as commoner children of a certain age, to attend the magic academy.

To ensure compliance with this obligation, the empire has taken several measures, with two of the most influential being:

One is financial assistance to commoners. Even if attending the magic academy is mandatory for commoners, it would be meaningless if they couldn’t afford to come to the Imperial capital due to financial issues. Therefore, the empire regularly accepts applications for financial aid, providing assistance with travel expenses to the families of commoners who apply. This has significantly reduced the number of children unable to attend the magic academy due to financial constraints, stabilizing the number of students.

The other measure is allowing a range of ages for enrollment. The magic academy has a three-year curriculum, and while there are long breaks such as summer vacations, most of those three years are spent in the imperial capital where the academy is located. However, in this world, regardless of social status, heirs are burdened with various responsibilities and things to learn for the family’s succession. If enrollment in the magic academy is immediately required upon reaching the specified age, various problems can arise in managing the family. Therefore, the empire, considering such aspects, has allowed flexibility in the age range for enrollment, suggesting that students can join the academy between the ages of 15 and 18.

However, having reincarnated into this world with knowledge of it as a game, it seems to me that this is a deliberate intention of the creators to have older heroines in the same grade, likely to increase events where they can come in contact with each other. Well, it works out for me since I can enroll with Lilia, who is older, in the same year.

And so, before enrollment at the magic academy, there is a proficiency test. This test measures the abilities of students entering that year and allocates them to classes based on their abilities. According to what I’ve heard, this method of class allocation based on proficiency enhances the competitive spirit among students, encouraging improvement in their abilities. While it may be effective, it seems like a meaningless system from my perspective.
