Chapter 34: The Teasing Play
“There’s no way even my sister would go that far, don’t you think?” Kana chuckled awkwardly, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“I don’t know… From what I’ve seen in this short time, I wouldn’t put it past her,” I replied, shaking my head.
“Hey, I’ve been with my sister since the day I was born, you know? Don’t you think I’d have more credibility here?”
“Well… yeah, but still,” I muttered reluctantly. “You’re so cautious, geez,” Kana said with a playful grin.
I couldn’t afford to let my guard down, though. If I didn’t stay vigilant, I might end up regretting it later. Just imagining if there was a hidden camera in the room… The one crying would undoubtedly be Kana.
I could already picture Minase, sitting in front of her computer, watching the footage with a sinister grin on her face.
“Alright, this won’t take long. Just wait here,” I said firmly, rising to my feet.
Without waiting for her reply, I began inspecting the room. I searched every corner—under the bed, inside the desk drawers, the closet—anywhere a hidden camera could conceivably be placed.
But no matter how hard I looked, there was nothing remotely suspicious to be found.
“See? I told you there’s nothing here, didn’t I?” Kana said, her expression practically shouting, I told you so.
“Well, that’s a relief. Now there’s nothing to worry about,” I said, letting out a small sigh of relief.
“I think the reason my sister booked this hotel was to apologize for today,” Kana remarked.
“For secretly following us and taking photos?” “Yeah. It’s kind of her way of showing she’s sorry. This place is a bit pricey, after all,” she said with a shrug.
“Couldn’t she have picked an even fancier hotel, then?” I wasn’t exactly complaining—it’s not every day someone covers your hotel bill—but I couldn’t help thinking it might’ve been better if she’d just handed me cash. That way, there’d be no ambiguity about her intentions.
“Well, let’s just accept this as a gesture of goodwill for now,” I said with a shrug.
Digging any deeper into this situation would only make things more complicated. In hindsight, even Minase wouldn’t go as far as setting up a hidden camera. If she had, she’d be less of a stalker and more of a full-blown criminal.
“So… um, why don’t you go take a shower?” Kana said, turning her face away to hide the faint blush creeping up her cheeks.
“Yeah, I’ll do that,” I replied, glancing at her. As I headed toward the bathroom, I couldn’t help but notice Kana in her bathrobe. It was hard to ignore how stunning she looked, but I managed to tear my gaze away and step into the shower.
Once inside, I locked the door, began undressing, and immediately noticed my body reacting to the situation.
This whole scenario was thrilling in ways I couldn’t quite describe. The fact that Kana couldn’t meet my gaze added another layer to it.
I knew that if I went back out there and looked her in the eyes, I’d see a completely different side of her—a vulnerable, longing expression that she was trying desperately to hide.
As much as I wanted to rush back out and close the gap between us, I knew that waiting a little longer would make it even more worthwhile.
For now, I focused on calming myself down. After all, I didn’t want to be anything less than perfect for her when the time came.
Even though I felt guilty about making her wait, I knew this teasing play would only heighten the anticipation and make our time together even more memorable.
“Guess I won’t be getting much sleep tonight,” I murmured to myself with a wry smile. I let the warm water cascade over me, taking a moment to steady my nerves.
Meanwhile, Kana sat on the bed, fidgeting nervously. She glanced toward the bathroom door, biting her lip as she wrestled with her feelings. Her mind raced with thoughts of what might happen once he came out of the shower.
Why am I so embarrassed? It’s not like this is the first time we’ve been alone together… she thought, her cheeks growing even warmer.
Despite her attempts to calm down, her heart wouldn’t stop pounding. She knew what she wanted, but the anticipation was making her restless.
She let out a small sigh, hugging a pillow to her chest. “I guess I’ll just have to wait…”
When I finally stepped out of the shower, refreshed and ready, Kana was still sitting on the bed, avoiding eye contact. Her face was flushed, and she clutched the pillow even tighter when she saw me.
“Thanks for waiting,” I said, breaking the silence. She nodded but didn’t say anything. The atmosphere in the room had shifted—an unspoken tension hung in the air, growing thicker with each passing moment.
I walked over to her, and sat down beside her on the bed. The faint scent of her shampoo filled my senses, and I could feel the warmth radiating from her body.
“Kana…” I murmured, gently brushing a strand of hair away from her face. She finally looked up at me, her eyes shimmering with a mix of nervousness and longing.
And in that moment, words were no longer necessary. That night, we forgot all about the day’s events, losing ourselves in the connection we shared.
Despite the exhaustion from walking around all day, neither of us got a wink of sleep until the early hours of the morning.
By the time the sun began to rise, we lay tangled together under the covers, completely at ease. All the teasing, the waiting—it had all been worth it.
