After finishing lunch, we moved on to afternoon classes. Despite feeling sleepy, I somehow managed to make it through and reach the end of the school day.

During this time, I didn’t do anything particularly romantic with Kana, and when we were with friends, we continued to act like friends. I crossed paths with Minase in the hallway, but there was no conversation.

However, when I saw her talking to her girl friends, flashing an angelic smile, it gave me goosebumps.

It was just after 3 PM. We gathered at the shoe lockers and were all excited about going to karaoke.

“We’re going to sing until our throats are dry!” Minase cheered enthusiastically.

“I’m going to go just to hear Souma’s singing! But, of course, I’ll sing until my throat gives out too!” Kana added with just as much energy.

Seeing how hyped up they were, I couldn’t help but marvel at how passionate high school girls could be about karaoke. In my imagination, they probably go to karaoke four times a week with friends, ordering the all-you-can-drink option and going all out.

“I’ll sing just enough,” I muttered quietly while putting on my shoes.

Since everyone was expecting me to sing well, I felt a little nervous. While I’d been told I was decent by classmates, I definitely wasn’t a professional.

That’s why I wanted to avoid disappointing anyone if my singing turned out worse than expected, so I decided to keep it moderate.

“I would’ve preferred to go just the two of us at first,” Kana whispered as she casually walked up beside me and spoke in my ear.

“Ah, well… let’s go just the two of us next time,” I replied awkwardly.

“Ugh… when you get embarrassed like that, it makes me embarrassed too,” Kana said, her face turning red as she looked at me.

That was too sudden… When she said that out of the blue, I couldn’t help but blush, even though I tried to act cool and not react.

And Kana, who said it and was blushing herself… she was just too cute. Her face, the one she hadn’t shown when we were just friends, was fresh and adorable. It was so different, and the fact she wasn’t used to it made it even cuter.

Why is it that a beautiful girl’s flustered face is so irresistibly cute?

The overwhelming cuteness caused a traffic jam in my brain, and all I could think about was Kana.

“What’s with the sneaky flirting?” Minase teased with a mischievous smile, clearly having noticed our exchange.

There was no way we could hide it from her. Minase slid in between us, grinning.

…Maybe we should save the romantic moments for when we’re alone. But before that, we’d have to find a private space…

I was still lost in my naive, awkward thoughts of a “perfect” date, imagining a manga café’s pair seat… or maybe a hotel…

Just as I was picturing these absurd, virgin fantasies, I suddenly heard a loud female voice calling from behind us.

“Hey, you three! Wait up!”

I quickly turned around, and standing there was a small girl with long black hair, glaring at us while standing with a stern posture.
