When I Brought The Lost Little Girl To Her House, The One Who Came Out Of The Front Door Was The Most Beautiful Girl In The Grade. - Chapter 54
We successfully managed to invite Souta, a member of the organizing committee, and the three of us were wandering around the cultural festival, exploring other classes’ presentations.
For the time being, Mimura seemed enthusiastic, leading the way with an energetic “Follow me!” There must be something he’s particularly interested in.
Without asking any questions, Souta and I followed Mimura.
“Well, let’s start here.”
He brought us to a maid cafe run by the third-year students.
Come to think of it, there were some rumors circulating around school yesterday. A somewhat dubious rumor claimed that just by visiting this third-year’s maid cafe, you would become incredibly happy.
“Uh, are you sure this place is real?”
“Hmm? What’s up, Kuroda?”
“It’s a bit awkward to say, but I do have a girlfriend now, and going to a place like this…”
Seeing as I now had a girlfriend I admired, I felt a bit guilty about going to a maid cafe. I surprised myself with how much I had changed.
Mimura was looking at me with a bewildered expression.
“Listen, I don’t think Shirakawa-san would be mad about something like this. And besides, you see…”
Saying that, Mimura looped his arm around my shoulder and whispered in my ear.
“You need moments like this to let off some steam.”
He seemed to see right through me, like he knew I secretly wanted to enter anyway. It made me feel uneasy.
“What about Souta?”
“Um, well, I think it’s fine for today.”
“Right, I guess…”
“And besides, if we’re caught, we can just blame everything on Mimura.”
Hearing that, I couldn’t help but think, “I see.”
“It’s not really a bad thing.”
“True, but still…”
“We won’t get caught! Let’s go!”
Despite my lingering doubts, I found myself persuaded by Mimura and Souta’s words. I followed them into the maid cafe run by the third-year students.
As soon as we entered the classroom, the atmosphere sparkled with an unusual radiance.
It felt different from what I had anticipated.
“Welcome back, my esteemed masters. Shall it be three of you today?”
“Yes! We’re all set!”
Mimura cheerfully responded, and the maid beamed while guiding us to our seats.
With a happy “Yes, ma’am!” and a satisfied grin, Mimura followed behind the maid. Souta and I shared a smile, let Mimura take the lead, and then followed to our designated seats.
“Here’s the menu for you.”
As I perused the menu, a prominent item caught my eye: “Fluffy Omelette Rice with Ketchup Writing by the Maid!!!”
It was as if the menu was reassuring me that choosing this dish was completely acceptable. The prices were quite reasonable too, around 600 yen.
“Have you decided on your orders?”
“Yeah, sure.”
“I’ve got mine too.”
With everyone making up their minds, we summoned the maid and placed our orders.
“So, we’ll have three orders of Omelette Rice! Please wait a moment.”
With that, she quickly scurried away.
“Why are you guys also ordering omelet rice?”
“Well, it looked the most delicious.”
“Same for Kuroda.”
“Geez! Just for that reason?”
“Well, what about you, then?”
Choosing it because it looked delicious sounded like a simple reason. I wondered what kind of response Mimura and Souta would come up with, and there was a bit of anticipation.
“Haah, you guys just don’t get it… This is a maid cafe, you know? It’s not about the taste as much as the experience of interacting with the maids.”
“R-Right…”
“In other words, I want to see the act of the maid writing with ketchup, so I chose the omelet rice!”
It was quite impressive to be able to boldly admit that as the reason.
“Haah, speaking of which, Kuroda finally got himself a girlfriend, huh…”
“What’s with that complete lack of celebration?”
“I am celebrating! I am!”
“Really?”
Seeing how lightly Mimura responded, I had my doubts about his celebration.
“But, you know, I feel like opportunities to hang out like this might decrease…”
“I don’t think they will decrease, though?”
“Huh? Is that so?”
Mimura gave me a puzzled look, his eyes shifting back and forth between Souta and me. Suppressing my urge to laugh at his expression, I managed to keep a straight face. But it’s true that he cares about spending time with us.
With a chuckle, I told Mimura, “You’re an idiot.”
“Ayano would never be controlling, and if I were hanging out with a girl, it might be different, but with Mimura and Souta, who are guys, they might even tell me I should go hang out more.”
As I said that, Mimura’s gaze shifted between me and Souta.
“Ah, I don’t really mind any constraints, but I get tired from physical activities. If it’s every now and then, it’s fine. But if it’s a streak of physical activity, I’ll pass.”
When Souta mentioned physical activity, he was referring to sports, so I understood that unless it involved sports, he was generally up for anything.
All things considered, I felt that we genuinely liked Mimura as well.
“Y-You guys… I’m not, um, not that sad if you don’t hang out with me, okay?”
“Sure, sure.”
I brushed aside the classic line that a tsundere heroine would say, which Mimura had spoken.
Afterward, Mimura muttered a quiet “thanks.”
Of course, both Souta and I probably heard it. But I pretended not to hear.
It seemed like the dishes would take a little more time to arrive.
