When I Brought The Lost Little Girl To Her House, The One Who Came Out Of The Front Door Was The Most Beautiful Girl In The Grade. - Chapter 53
Today, like usual, I’m heading to school. It’s a bit chilly as usual. But unlike yesterday, I have a reason to be really excited today.
“I have a date with Ayano.”
I unintentionally said it out loud and chuckled to myself. Some people around me laughed with a chuckle, while a little kid pointed at me and said, “There’s a weird person!”
Taking the small child’s hand, their mother said, “Don’t stare,” and led the child away. Just like something you’d see in an anime.
I never expected to feel so sad. And it’s so embarrassing.
Why do I have to be hit with this much damage from the morning?
When I realized, I was already in front of the school gate. The decorations were still vibrant.
Upon entering the classroom, I noticed that there were definitely more gazes on me than usual.
Those gazes felt somewhat hostile.
For some reason, though I don’t understand why, I made a motion to hide the back of my head.
Then a few girls approached me, grinning.
“Kuroda-kun? What happened between you and Shirakawa-san?”
One of the girls asked me. It’s probably something most of the class is curious about.
“Well, after that… We just walked home together.”
“Huh? Is that so? We thought you guys might have, like, kissed or something.”
“Eek!! How romantic!”
My heart skipped a beat! I knew it. I was sweating weirdly. If it’s discovered that we kissed, I’ll be torn apart by the beastly guys.
I tried to remain calm desperately. Sharp stares and whispering voices came from various parts of the class.
And I can’t just say that we kissed. I was screaming that in my head.
After being surrounded by a few girls, I was soon surrounded by guys.
The sense of intimidation was intense. Dealing with just the girls was already tiring, but now I have to deal with the guys too, and that’s going to be a challenge.
“Hey, Kuroda… There’s something I want to ask you.”
“Hmm? What is it?”
“Did Ayano-san hate us?”
“Huh? What are you talking about?”
“W-well, you see… Since we kept confessing to her and all, I thought she might have started to dislike us because of that…”
Ayano did say yesterday that she didn’t care about anyone who confessed to her except for me.
But she didn’t say she hated them.
“I don’t think she said she hated you guys or anything like that…”
“R-really? Phew, that’s a relief.”
One guy sighed in relief, and immediately, the people around him started crying, hugging each other, and everything.
“What’s going on?”
“Maybe everyone felt bad for Shiakawa-san? You know, being rejected is tough, of course, but rejecting someone is also tough, right?”
“I see…”
Somehow, it seemed like a really great group of people. I feel like I had some misconceptions.
“By the way, Kuroda…”
“Huh? What is it?”
“If you make Shirakwa-san cry, I’ll seriously kill you. I’ll follow you to the ends of the earth.”
Huh? That’s quite sudden. Of course, I have no intention of making her cry, but I thought they were nice guys. And yet, they only care about Ayano.
I sighed and grumbled in my head.
“I understand. Of course, I don’t want to do anything like that.”
With just a single word, I said that and took my seat.
At 9 o’clock, the cultural festival begins. Before that, there’s an announcement. It’s the broadcast for the start of the second day. As it gets closer to 10 minutes before, when I look out of the window, I see people lining up at the main gate, guided by the committee members and teachers.
Good job. When I see the teachers in such a state, I can’t help but think they’re really putting in a lot of effort.
“Now then, let’s enjoy the second day too!”
“Yeah!!!”
Everyone in the class raises their voices loudly. Some thrust their arms upwards in a fist pump, while others jump and express their joy physically.

The second day of the cultural festival has begun. Our class had a play on the first day, so it seems like there’s not much to do today.
Because of that, we can take our time to watch the performances from other classes.
As for Ayano, well, there’s the haunted house, so she probably won’t make it.
“Hey, Yuusei-kun! Yoohoo!”
Thinking about these things, I left the classroom and coincidentally ran into Ayano. I remembered what happened yesterday and felt a little embarrassed.
Ayano, seemingly unfazed, smiled cheerfully and waved her hand with a small gesture.
“Hey there!”
“Haha, your voice is so soft.”
“Um, about today…”
“Oh, sorry! I have to show my face in the classroom during the morning, so how about in the afternoon?”
“Yeah, that’s totally fine.”
“Alright then, I’ll get in touch with you in the afternoon.”
Saying that, Ayano turned back with her friend and headed to their classroom.
I watched her back as she walked away.
“Kuroda, so you’re going on a date with Ayano-san? You lucky guy!”
“Well, we’re already dating, so it’s natural, right?”
“Look how far you’ve come,” smirked Mimura as he playfully nudged my arm.
It was surprisingly painful and a bit annoying, but I figured Mimura was trying to compliment me in his own way, so I didn’t tell him to stop.
“We can hang out together in the morning, right?”
“Huh? Well, I can come. Sure.”
“Then let’s include Souta and go as a trio.”
“The Three Musketeers, huh?”
“Doesn’t matter, right?”
I chuckled and gave a nod. Looking at Mimura’s innocent joy, I started feeling foolish for being so nervous.
