When I Brought The Lost Little Girl To Her House, The One Who Came Out Of The Front Door Was The Most Beautiful Girl In The Grade. - Chapter 29
Today was the long-awaited sports festival. Well, not exactly that, but I couldn’t help feeling a little embarrassed about cutting my hair today.
I kept thinking about what I would do if someone said something or teased me about it.
When I arrived at school and opened the classroom door with a creak, nearly half of the students inside were staring at me.
Mimura and Souta approached me and stood in front of me.
“Wow, you really changed,” Mimura said.
“Yeah, yeah, much better than before,” Souta added.
“Is that so? I’m actually quite embarrassed about it,” I replied.
Mimura and Souta patted my back, saying, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
Then Sasaki approached me, saying, “Hey, are you Kuroda?”
He was looking at my hair with interest.
“Are you all fired up?” he asked.
“Not really, it’s not like that,” I replied.
“Haha, this should be interesting,” he teased.
“Kuroda, your haircut suits you very well!” Shirasaka complimented.
“Thanks, Shirasaka.”
“Don’t take it the wrong way about Sasaki. He seems really excited for today’s sports festival, so he’s all fired up.”
“…It’s alright, I don’t think anything of it,” I said.
I wasn’t angry about Sasaki teasing my hair a bit. It’s not uncommon to tease someone who suddenly cuts their long hair, especially when it’s right before the sports festival. I understood that, so I didn’t find Sasaki annoying this time.
“Just go outside now, the opening ceremony for the sports festival is starting,” our homeroom teacher told us.
So, we moved outside and lined up in order of our class numbers, waiting for the opening ceremony to begin.
“Now, we will begin the opening ceremony of the sports festival,” the announcement came, followed by the principal’s speech, which always seemed to be unnecessarily long.
After some important announcements, the sports committee member recited the athlete’s oath, and the first day of the sports festival officially began.
After the opening ceremony, we returned to the classroom since our games were scheduled for later.
There was a tense atmosphere in the classroom after the opening ceremony.
Mimura was hiding his face on his desk as soon as he entered the room, making me wonder what happened. I also noticed that Souta was not around, so I asked about it.
“Hey, Mimura? Where’s Souta?” I inquired.
“Hmm,” Mimura mumbled.
Mimura pointed with his finger to Souta’s location.
Souta was taking pictures with a girl.
Probably, seeing that triggered jealousy and sadness in Mimura, and his mental state seemed to be getting unstable.
Well, among the three of us, Souta is the only one with a girlfriend, so he’s the most fulfilled in that aspect.
Suddenly, Mimura stood up energetically and approached Souta with a serene expression on his face.
“Souta, it’s almost time,” he said.
“Huh? Isn’t it still early?” Souta replied.
“What event are you participating in?” Mimura asked.
Souta’s girlfriend is Otori Sana, who is in the same class as Ayano and often hangs out with her. Sana has a very laid-back personality and seems to be head over heels for Souta.
“We’re going to play dodgeball, but I don’t think it’s time yet. Mimura, you’re not lying, right?” Souta asked.
“I wouldn’t lie, hohoho,” Mimura chuckled.
“Eww, that’s creepy,” Souta said, and Sana added, “Souta-kun, you’re being rude.”
“Sorry about that. Sana-san, I’ll borrow him for a bit,” Mimura said as he grabbed Souta’s collar and dragged him away.
I bowed to Sana and followed Mimura.
“Hey, Mimura, the time is way off,” Souta protested.
Mimura’s expression changed from a serene one to a fierce angry one.
“We’re starting our dodgeball training right now,” Mimura declared.
“Why now…?” Souta tried to reason.
“No complaints, let’s go!” Mimura insisted.
As Mimura was about to throw the dodgeball, a student guidance teacher caught him.
“Were you about to throw the ball just now?” the teacher asked.
“Huh…? No?” Mimura replied, pretending not to know.
“What about you two?” the teacher asked, including Souta and me.
We quickly shook our heads to avoid being involved.
Mimura gave us a tearful look, trying to be dramatic, but Souta and I pretended not to notice and returned to the classroom.
