When I Brought The Lost Little Girl To Her House, The One Who Came Out Of The Front Door Was The Most Beautiful Girl In The Grade. - Chapter 28
Even though I said I would cut my hair, I immediately started searching for a good hair salon on my smartphone as soon as I got home.
At home, I noticed unfamiliar shoes at the entrance. Someone must be visiting.
“Oh, Yuusei, welcome back,” said my older sister, Kuroda Yumi.
“Ohh onee-chan, you are back?”
“Yeah, I took a two-day break from work,” she replied with a smile.
Yumi is a hairdresser. She often says that her job is tough, but she also finds it enjoyable. People who can see their work that way might have a better chance of lasting long and succeeding.
“Oh, Onee-chan, I want to cut my hair, but do you know of any good hair salons?”
“You have one right here.”
“What do you mean?”
“I meant a good hairstylist.”
“Wait, are you talking about yourself?”
Yumi chuckled at my response.
“Sure, since you were a student, you’ve always been conscious of your appearance. I know that well as your family.”
“Do you have the tools like scissors?”
“What do you think I am?”
She took scissors out of her bag and playfully clinked them together.
“I’m a bit nervous…”
“Don’t worry! I’ve been practicing, so I’ve improved.”
“Really? Alright then, I’ll trust you.”
With that, I entrusted my hair to my sister Yumi.
At first, we chatted about trivial matters, her recent work, and how long she would stay at home. It felt like she was doing most of the talking, but that was fine. My own stories were just too ordinary and lacked excitement.
“Oh, by the way, did you fall in love with someone or experience heartbreak?”
“Huh?!”
“Oh, the look on your face suggests you fell for someone!”
“I find you annoying,” I said, attempting to turn away, but she held my head firmly.
“Don’t move, it’s dangerous.”
“But I’m a customer here…”
“Don’t bother, it’s not work hours, and you’re not a customer.”
“What kind of hairdresser are you…”
“Are you being a complainer even though you’re getting it done for free?”
“Oh? Are you gonna do it?” kind of vibe came along. She teased, making me unsure of what to do.
“Your language has gotten worse.”
“Hahaha! Sorry, sorry, you don’t have to worry about that. I feel more comfortable this way.”
“You’re working hard.”
“Of course!”
After some more adjustments, we were done.
“Here you go!”
“Oh, this is…”
I looked at myself in the mirror, and it was like seeing a new version of myself.
Looking at myself in the mirror, I had transformed. It was something I never thought would happen, but today might be the day for it.
My hair was now cut short, and my eyes were clearly visible. The bangs were just the right length, not too long nor too short.
“Hey, so? Is the person you like cute?” Yumi asked.
“Yeah, cute,” I replied.
Yumi had a surprised expression on her face. “That’s unusual. I never thought you’d say something like that.”
“You’re so annoying…” I retorted.
Then Yumi let out a small sigh and smiled at me. “If you like her that much, then do your best.”
“I… I know…”
“You’re probably thinking about whether you two are compatible or something like that.”
“I… I’m not… uh…”
“It’s okay! You look cool now.”
Hearing that, I blushed slightly. When someone compliments me straightforwardly, it makes me feel a bit ticklish on the inside.
“If I were a stranger, I’d want to date you.”
“Eww…”
“What’s with that reaction?”
“That’s a problematic statement right there.”
“Well, I have a brother complex, so of course, I love you so much!”
Saying that, she suddenly lunged at me, and I was pushed down by Yumi.
At that moment, a pleasant fragrance stimulated my nose, and at the same time, I felt a slight pain in my back.
There was a loud thud, and in response, our mother came to see what was happening.
“You two…”
“It’s not what it looks like! Th-this is…!”
“You really get along well, don’t you? People in the neighborhood have been saying that for ages.”
“Mom, saying that now is not the best timing!”
As if calming down, Yumi immediately stood up and started tidying things.
“Well, do your best. Your big sister is cheering you on. Remember, timing is crucial when you truly like someone!”
“Yeah, I’ll do my best. Thanks, onee-chan.”
Saying that, Yumi smiled warmly.
