When I Brought The Lost Little Girl To Her House, The One Who Came Out Of The Front Door Was The Most Beautiful Girl In The Grade. - Chapter 16
Before stopping by Shirakawa’s house, I went to the supermarket to find the items she had requested.
I picked up one 2-liter sports drink and four or five 500ml sports drinks. Additionally, I added some heat patches and over-the-counter cold medicine, things that would be useful if she caught a cold. I also bought some retort-packaged rice porridge, as I’m not confident in my cooking skills and wanted to ensure there would be no mishaps.
Surprisingly, the shopping bag became quite heavy. When I think about housewives or people living alone carrying this kind of weight regularly, I can’t help but admire them.
The bag felt like it was about to tear under the weight, but I finally arrived at Shirakawa’s house.
As always, I felt a slight nervousness when I pressed the intercom.
Taking a deep breath, I rang the bell.
When the door opened, I lowered my gaze and saw a small head. It was Shirakawa’s little sister who came out.
“Are you okay, Shirakawa’s sis?”
“Onii-chan… Kuroda, help…”
“Well, I’m…”
I’m not a doctor or a god, so I can’t cure her. That’s what I wanted to say, but when I looked into her eyes, they were on the verge of tears, glistening with moisture.
She had teary, moist eyes.
“You’re so kind, Shirakawa’s sis… Alright! Leave it to me, because I have a secret tool that can help with this situation.”
“A secret tool?”
“Yeah, it’s a tool that will help your sister. Will you cooperate with me?”
“Okay… yes!”
“That’s great!” I said, patting her head.
We entered Shirakawa’s house, and I put the things I bought on the kitchen table. I placed the bottles in the fridge.
Then, I heard footsteps approaching from the hallway.
It wasn’t Shirakawa’s little sister; she was currently washing her hands in the bathroom. So, that means…
I opened the living room door with a clatter. Shirakawa’s house had a spacious living room at the back, which also housed the kitchen.
“You really… came for me…”
“Well, yeah…”
“You’re really kind…”
She said that with a smile, but her expression looked really painful.
“Sick people should rest.”
“I know, but… I can’t sleep…”
I understand that sleeping too much might make it difficult to fall asleep again. When I had a fever, my parents told me that sleeping would help, but once I woke up after sleeping for a while, I found it hard to fall back asleep.
But that doesn’t mean I can let her stay here.
“Shirakawa-nee!”
“Natsumi…”
“Huh?”
“Are you planning to keep calling my younger sister by the name ‘Shirakawa-nee’ forever?”
“No, it’s just… I didn’t mean that…”
“Fufu, then call her Natsumi…”
She giggled, but her smile seemed more painful than before.
“Natsumi! Could you take your sister to her room?”
“Okay!”
Natsumi hurriedly ran over.
“Hey, be careful and don’t run like that.”
“Onee-san… please go back to your room quickly.”
“But… if Natsumi tells me to, I guess I can’t help it.”
Even if only for a moment, Shirakawa’s sister looked at me and her expression seemed a little down.
“Should I bring the heat patch?”
Holding the heat patch and a 500ml bottle of sports drink, I went to the front of Shirakawa’s room.
It wouldn’t be appropriate to enter a woman’s room without permission, and she might be sleeping, so I intended to leave the items in front of her room after checking.
“Shirakawa… um, Ayano, I brought the sports drink and the heat patch, I’m leaving them in front of your room.”
“……”
Since there was no response, I was about to leave the items in front of the room when…
“……Come in.”
“Huh?”
I unintentionally made a strange noise. Embarrassing myself. A deflated sound had slipped out.
“Then, um…”
My heart was pounding loudly.
“Excuse me…”
A very pleasant fragrance filled the room. There were stuffed animals on the bed and the desk, and the room was very girly.
“I brought various things.”
“Thanks~”
I placed the things I brought on the desk. Shirakawa placed the heat patch on her forehead and let out a sigh.
“Onee-chan…”
“I’m sorry for worrying you, Natsumi.”
“No, it’s okay.”
“Natsumi, I’m going downstairs now.”
“Yeah… got it.”
“If anything happens, let me know, Ayano.”
“Okay.”
Saying that, we returned to the kitchen.
