We are pretending....right? - Chapter 2- Proposal?
Sanada Sou had no idea how and why he ended up in a café when he just browsing peacefully in the library. Well, he was at fault as well since he was the one who drew the first blood and disturbed Sumire.
On the other side, Sumire was still huffing slightly since she had to follow Sou for a short distance to apologize, and to make it proper, she even offered a coffee as compensation. Well, she herself was parched but not like her feelings weren’t genuine.
“So you say, because of your piercing and to not hag attention you wear your hair down. Then why in the first place you got the piercing?”
A waitress wearing cat ears, as per the theme of this café, came to deliver two cold coffee not so long after despite the place is almost full.
Sumire could guess the answer since the waitress had her eyes glued on Sou ever since he walked in. And not only has she, but maybe every second person taken a look at him without letting their gazes get unnoticed.
And she thought she gathered attention…
“It was an impulse you can say. What about you tho? Never thought I would see the Sumire Asuzawa browsing through cookery books on Sunday morning when she had a date scheduled.”
“He is not my-“
Sumire nearly yelled those words but soon after glancing around she got back to her seat and collected her thoughts.
Sou was aware that the girl wasn’t dating Kabura but he just felt like teasing her a bit.
“Wipe that smug and you may find a girlfriend one day.”
Sumire glared as she realized how easily she gets trapped in words. In return, Sou just said nothing as he picked up his drink as heard the girl continues.
“I am just like this in reality. Super annoyed and lazy at times. And about that Kabura, then I am just stuck in between my two childhood friends, that’s all.”
A sigh leaked her lips as Sumire rested on her seat while she sipped on the cold coffee which actually was strangely extra sweet and the chocolate syrup also seemed quite heavy in the drink.
He seemed a perfect person to bring café in Sumire’s opinion. Not like she was going to say it…
“Love triangle?’
Despite having some clue about it, Sou asked and the girl’s nodding head affirmed his doubts.
“I just can’t wrap my head around Kabura-kun’s feelings for me. We always have been friends, then how he ended up like this…”
Sumire frowned with her eyes closed as she felt annoyed even thinking about the matter which has made her Akari so troubled.
Sou was silent for a moment before he voiced his thoughts in a questioning tone.
“Then…can you explain how come Shijou-san (Akari) has feelings toward Kabura-kun?”
Sumire was taken aback by such an absurd response since she half doubted to have sympathized or maybe any advice but rather this guy was targeting her with the details.
She took a long sip of the drink with her eyes glaring at the guy as she spoke soon after her immediate thoughts.
“I don’t know about it. My friend is blind and Kabura-kun is dense to not see her love.”
“There are several girls getting rejected by Kabura-kun, so you can’t particularly say that Shijou-san is blind. And since he fell for you Asuzawa-san, Kabura-kun is not dense either, more like he is intentionally ignoring Shijou-san’s feelings since he is more focused on you?”
Sou has no idea why but contradicting the girl and seeing her angered face seemed amusing for a pass time so he wasn’t leaving a chance and thankfully Sumire wasn’t betraying his expectation either.
“I don’t know baka! Go ask them!”
Sumire got up from her seat since it was too many questions to think of and this guy was trying to intentionally tickle her demonic side who would make a scene in the café and embarrass herself in the end.
“I can help you tho…”
But before she could have got to the table, suddenly she heard Sou saying something useful for the second time in the day. The first was that book that she forgot to pick from the bookstore due to the rush.
She took the seat once again as she glanced in her cup and found that she actually finished everything before she intended to leave.
Sou sighed as he signaled the waitress and ordered another coffee for the girl. Sumire tried to refuse…not really…which Sou discarded and said that the last one was his treat.
“Now tell me, what suggestion you have.”
Sou straightened his back as he spoke in a serene tone.
“Since you are troubled with the triangle of your childhood friends then how about…dating me instead?”

A/N; – Sorry for the short chapter. I will not rush the development and once again I don’t particularly like extreme slow burn so their relationship might get real before you realize it.
