The Villainous Noble Tried His Hardest to Break the Original Storyline, and Now the Heroines Are Acting Weird - 11
Chapter 11

The only thing left was recovery magic. Well, I could already use Heal, at least. I figured I could save that training for later.
It would only shock my father if I suddenly told him I could use two types of magic at once. If that shaved years off his life, that’d be the worst outcome. More than anything, recovery magic seemed to be quite rare in this world.
It would be more natural if it looked like I learned it after gaining some combat experience and leveling up a bit.
“Nii-ni, you can use magic?”
The one who greeted me with a smile as I returned to the mansion was Liana, Rubest-kun’s little sister. She was about six years younger than me, currently seven years old. She still clung to me like a child and was incredibly adorable. Taking care of her was also part of my plans.
Thank you for letting me reincarnate in this world….
That was the first time I truly felt that. Yes, I truly felt that when I met Liana. In response to her question about whether I could use magic, I patted her on the head and answered.
“Yeah, I’m pretty amazing, you know?”
“Really!? I wanna see, I wanna see!”
She’s an angel…
It was almost enough to make me want to show her right here and now, but I somehow managed to hold back.
“I really shouldn’t use it inside the house… Come watch next time I’m training.”
“Okay!”
Liana really was a good kid. My new little sister was so precious, she made me want to bring peace to this world for her sake. Of course, I was also working hard for the sake of my previous little sister.
As I patted her smiling head, our mother entered the room. She was so beautiful, you’d never guess she was the mother of two children.
…Well, in the original story, she had lost her mind, so this was actually the first time I got to see her looking this radiant. Liana had inherited her blonde hair from our Mother while I inherited my black hair from our Father. Luckily, I’d inherited the good looks from both parents too.
Seeing me and Liana together, Mother smiled warmly. Her eyes narrowed with joy.
“By the way, Rubest. I heard you can use magic now?”
“Yes.”
“Mother wants to see it too~”
“You can’t, Mama! Not unless it’s during training!”
Liana repeated exactly what I’d just told her earlier.
Family, huh. In my previous life, my parents had died in an accident… So getting to live with a family like this was something I’d never really experienced. If possible, I didn’t want to lose a single one of them.
My first goal was to make it to my fifteenth birthday. On that day, the Demon Lord would come and destroy this family. That incident would become my debut battle. In order to prepare myself for that day, I needed to grow even stronger—overwhelmingly so.
After spending time with Liana and the others, I went right back to practicing the fundamentals of magic. Every day, I continued with the same basic training.
In Final Quest, there was a system called “Basic Training.” If you selected a training option and let a day pass, the corresponding status would increase.
Using this feature made it easier for anyone to build a maxed-out character, though it also meant taking longer to clear the game. Because the more days passed, the more side events the player would skip. If the player wanted to experience every single event available in Final Quest, using this feature wouldn’t be for the best.
For players who just wanted to finish the main story, this was the go-to method. The game was balanced so players could choose either route. There were a few types of basic training, but right now, I focused entirely on magical training to boost my MP and magic attack power.
In Final Quest, it never showed what the training actually looked like. All you saw was a 2D sprite blasting magic. So now, I was just mimicking that as best I could and since my MP increased the next day, I was pretty sure it was working.
『Goddess, I am getting stronger, right?』
『Ah, yes! You’re definitely growing!』
『Can’t you share my status? Or make it visible to me?』
『That’s not allowed. Nobody is able to see their status or skills in this world. We have to keep things equal, after all.』
After giving me all that help, she sure had some nerve to say that. I could hear a crisp crunch—was she eating rice crackers? …If she was going to snack, I wished she’d cut the connection. It was distracting.
『By the way… Rubest-san, starting today you’re allowed to join actual combat training, right?』‘’
『I guess so.』
『Fighting Monsters… Are you sure you’re going to be okay? That sounds kinda scary…』
『Well, I just have to blast them with magic. I need to get used to it sooner or later anyway.』
…Honestly, I didn’t feel much fear. In my past life, I had all kinds of jobs, including helping out with animal butchering. So I wasn’t that disturbed by the idea of taking a living creature’s life. It had been tough at first, but I got used to it eventually.
