The Tale of the Redeeming Villain - Chapter 51- New home
With Noel and his kingdom being destroyed by the red dragon of destruction a far wide message was sent across the world.
Many divine presence and many of those factors that would be influencing the upcoming war were reminded that there is a mortal that holds the strength to threaten the balance of the worlds.
Inside a room, several entities could be seen sitting around the round table, currently engaged in a discussion that centered around the event that happened a few days ago.
“So he is the mortal of the prophecy.” The man with moon-white skin and purple-glowing eyes muttered as he looked at the projection in the middle of the table that showed the familiar dragon that nearly destroyed a kingdom a few days ago.
“The Ragnarok…the one that can end it all.” Another one muttered. This one had dark skin like midnight and a pair of golden eyes.
“It’s strange…how a mortal can be a threat to us, immortals.” The third one, a woman with long green hair and slanted grey eyes chuckled in mockery.
All the six dragons who would be taking different sides in the war were having a gathering where they weren’t divulging anything related to the sides they would be supporting. This emergency meeting was called forth because of a dragon that showed its fury before the war.
“Can I eliminate him? He looks tame enough to not even notice me in his human form.” The youngest-looking one, a silver-haired girl, excitedly asked as she watched the projection with a broad smile.
“Kill him? Yeah, sure. Then endanger all the realms and the ones we are trying to protect by serving those Gods and Devils.” The one with wavy black hair and a robust build spoke to the young girl. His voice was domineering and so was his presence. After all, he was the eldest of the all, and ever older than a few deities.
“So what do we do? Let the prophecy play its role and let this mortal decide our fate?” The blond-haired woman asked, her voice signifying her annoyance.
They knew for sure that at one point, the Dragon of Ragnarok would ‘end it all.’ They have no other clue but there was nothing else to know about it as well.
There was a long silence; some were pondering what they could, and some were just purely nonchalant.
After a few more minutes of pause, the eldest one finally uttered, “Infernalys, I want you to monitor Carlson for the time being.”
The blond one named Infernalys, snarled, “Why should I follow that brat? I have some more important work to focus on!”
The man with a white face added, “Knowing about him would help us to deal with him easily in the future. That’s why, Vorthryx, you also go.”
The green-haired one, who would be siding with the Gods, unlike Infernalys, nodded, “Understood. I will keep an eye on him for the time being.”

Blake brought them to a place that was just as secluded as he desired it to be.
It was a town with not more than fifty houses in sight. In his free time, he had been looking at places where he could peacefully live. And this was one of them.
The carriage entered the town once Blake paid the town guard and showed him his fake identity. Naturally, he wouldn’t have come here without preparation.
‘I have like two hundred coins in possession and fifty high-grade beast materials in store…’ The problem was where he could exchange those materials for gold coins. Possibly, given how small the town was it was highly unlikely there would be any hunter’s guild in the town.
“This place looks serene.” Catherine heaved a sigh as she lifted the curtain and looked around.
“Indeed; I just hope the people are good here as well.”
Catherine lightly rebuked, “People are always good, it’s just how we approach them matters.”
Blake heaved a sigh and didn’t correct her.
He brought the carriage towards the town hall before telling Catherine, “Come with me.”
Catherine glanced at the children and found them soundly asleep. Just to be on the safe side, she chanted a barrier around the carriage before joining Blake and walking inside the town hall.
She was wearing a shawl over her head to cover her hair, and Blake was no longer carrying any weapon either(since they were traveling through the forest, they were getting continuously attacked, as such, Blake was carrying a dagger all the time with him).
The soldiers at the entrance stopped them and asked, “What business you may have?” He had a serious expression but Blake felt no animosity from the man. Just a soldier doing his job.
“We need to register ourselves to the city register and buy a home.”
The man raised his brows, “Are you a married couple?” He seemed surprised, considering how young they were.
Blake smiled, “Yes, we are.”
The soldier’s expression shifted, as with a smile, he pushed open the door and said, “Welcome to Florgaze.”
Blake and Catherine glanced at each other, a smile lifting the edges of their lips before they entered the town hall.
Inside, there was a reception just a few steps ahead of the entrance where a woman was casually trimming her nails.
“Excuse me, can I meet the mayor of the town?”
The pinkhead didn’t remove her eyes from her nails when she said, “Fill the form and pay a silver coin.”
Blake glanced to his left and took the form.
He began filling in the details and the subject of this meeting when the receptionist raised her eyes and looked at the duo.
Her eyes sparkled seeing such a beautiful girl standing silently beside the man, urging her to ask, “What product do you use for such flawless skin?”
Catherine was startled, but soon she responded, “Just…flower extract and water?”
The receptionist scoffed, “Don’t tell me if you don’t want to.”
Catherine tilted her head…why was she annoyed? She was telling the truth though…
Blake heaved a sigh and shook his head; Catherine is really an innocent girl.
“Here, and here.” Blake handed the form and money required before the receptionist said,
“Welcome to Florgaze. Now sit there and wait for me to call you.” She said while gesturing toward the resting seats attached to the wall.
Blake nodded before he led Catherine towards the seats.
“….haah, I feel we can live here longer than we did previously.”
Catherine leaned her head on his shoulder, and said, “I hope so…before the war, I want to enjoy as many peaceful day as I can with you and the children.”
Six months were left for the war, however, considering the steps being taken by the other side, it was highly likely that several things might change.
