The Strongest Villain, Who Had Secluded Himself Deep in the Mountains To Avoid the Destruction Flag, Is Forced Onto the Main Stage by the Heroine He Helped - Chapter 1 : Prologue
“Clearana Fantasy” is a romance action based RPG that has recently gained huge popularity amongst the youth because of its striking game dynamics.
The game offers many elements left to the player’s discretion like the wide variety of storylines and attractive heroines.
You can enjoy the action or aim for a happy ending with one of the heroines.
Because anyone can enjoy it, “Clearana Fantasy” became famous for quite a while and maintained a dominant position in the market.
Within that game, there is a certain character named Alba Iresia.
Although his character’s stats and status as the second son of the Duke Iresia are high, he possesses all the elements of a scoundrel: arrogant, quick-tempered, and deeply involved in womanizing.
As a result, in one of the heroine routes, Alba became the final boss and met tragic ends in all routes due to the consequences of his own actions, such as being retaliated against by the protagonist.
However, that same character was now…
“Uwaa~, what a refreshing morning!”
Bathed in the sunlight, with sweat on his cheeks, and a pleasant spring breeze accompanied by the chirping of birds, a white-haired young boy was tilling the fields with a hoe in his hand.
“It’s a wonderful day for farming! I felt like crying at first, doing physical labor since the morning, but now it feels like proof of being alive!”
With a small mountain house in the background, the boy had a delightful smile on his face.
His appearance was that of a splendid farmer’s son.
However, you must know one thing: this boy is not actually the son of a farmer.
His name Alba Iresia, the second son of the Duke Iresia and a villainous character from the RPG Game “Clearana Fantasy.”
His original personality is arrogant and dissolute, one would expect him to lounge elegantly in the mansion like a proud noble, but for some reason, this young boy was engaged in farming like a commoner. Moreover, the place he was currently residing in was in the middle of the mountains where there were no signs of other people.
The reason for this was…
“No… It’s been three years since I was reincarnated as Alba and two years since I left the mansion. Time really flies by quickly.”
Alba possesses memories of his past life.
He was an ordinary boy born in peaceful country Japan and lived ordinary days there.
He used to play the game “Clearana Fantasy.”
However, he wasn’t an intense gamer, he just played the game because it was a popular topic among high-schoolers, and he didn’t remember the detailed scenario or content. However, he did know that Alba, the character, was a villain who dies in every single route.
So, Alba left the mansion he was living in — before going to the academy, the stage of the game, and before triggering the flag of destruction.
As a result, he now lives a self-sufficient life in an unfamiliar town like this.
“I’m glad Alba-kun was even more hated than I thought. Thanks to that, I was able to leave the duke’s mansion without anyone’s concern or attention.”
With a nostalgic expression, Alba resumed moving the hoe.
At that moment…
“Alba! I brought a letter for you!”
On the well-maintained road a little ahead, a girl wearing a white robe with goldenish patterns approached him, waving a letter in her hands as if appealing to Alba.
Her shiny platinum blonde hair peeks out from under her wimple. Her lovely and neat facial features, well-defined nose, long eyelashes, and petite figure reminiscent of a small animal made her incredibly cute, causing anyone walking on the streets to turn their heads.
She was undoubtedly a beautiful girl.
“Thank you, but I’ll make sure to burn the reminder letter properly.”
“You have to pay off your debts properly, you know!?”
“Don’t be ridiculous. Normally, one is supposed to dodge debts, right? Do you think a boy who ran away from home and lives self-sufficiently has money?”
“It’s not something to be proud of!!”
With a sigh, the girl puffed up her cheeks cutely.
Her adorable appearance made Alba impulsively pat her head.
Whether it was due to her lowered guard or because she had grown fond of Alba, the girl closed her eyes contentedly as she rested her head on his hand.
“Ehehe~…”
While gently stroking the girl’s head, Alba thought to himself.
‘Originally, I had no intention of getting involved with any of the capture targets…’
The girl Alba was interacting with was one of the capture targets, Sheria Margaret.
She was one of the five Saintess who served the goddess revered by the world’s major religion.
She was a renowned figure with exceptional healing abilities and the power to foresee calamities.
Nobody would have thought that the spoiled girl standing before them was that sacred figure.
If she didn’t wear the gold-adorned robe and Alba didn’t know about the game’s setting, he wouldn’t have associated her with a Saintess at all.
Alba had tried to avoid the bad ending, and Sheria was one of the characters he intended to initially avoid.
Yet, now she was right in front of him. They were even spending time together in a small house behind them.
You might be wondering why they were living together when she was such a renowned figure and respected all over the kingdom? The reason was…
“Is something bothering you, Alba?”
“Hm? Oh, I was just reminiscing about when I first met you, Sheria.”
“Hehe~, the time when you saved me, right?”
“It feels nostalgic.” Sheria showed the same nostalgic expression Alba had seen earlier.
“At that time, if you weren’t there, I…”
“Well, you’re alive now, so it’s all good. Sorry for making the knights worry, though.”
“N-no, it’s not like that! Alba doesn’t need to apologize! I should be the one who is grateful to Alba!”
With determination, Sheria threw herself at Alba’s chest.
Perhaps she wanted to convey her gratitude wholeheartedly with this action.
Alba gave a wry smile and said, “I understand,” as he caught her delicate body and continued to pat her head.
Just from witnessing this scene, one could sense the closeness between the two.
“I don’t want you to be thankful at this point.”
“But, I still haven’t repaid you…”
“I’ve said it before, right? I didn’t help you because I wanted something in return.”
Firmly looking into Sheria’s wavering eyes, Alba boldly spoke.
“I helped you because I felt like helping you, who was in danger. That’s all.”
Upon hearing those words, Sheria’s face suddenly turned bright red.
“Uwa…”
“What’s wrong? Your face is all red.”
“It’s n-nothing!”
Sheria forcefully distanced herself from Alba and immediately turned her back.
She then covered her flushed cheeks with both hands and began to murmur softly.
“Mou~… Alba is such a problem. He is cheating… How can he be such a womanizer! But… somehow, that’s what makes him cool, and I really love it…!”
She spoke in such a low tone that Alba was unable to hear what she was murmuring.
The genuinely insensitive Alba just tilted his head in confusion.
“Oh, by the way, it finally arrived!”
Ignoring Alba’s puzzled expression, Sheria abruptly changed the subject.
Though she seems to be hiding something behind her easy-to-read face, Alba chose not to bring it up.
“What arrived?”
“A letter, a letter! We finally received a letter from the church!”
Sheria skillfully opened the envelope she had in her hand.
However, just before that, Sheria stopped midway.
“Alba, will you…”
“Hmm?”
“Will you stay with me?”
And she asked another abrupt question.
‘What’s she talking about all of a sudden?’ Alba thought, but it didn’t seem to be anything profound, so he answered honestly.
“Well, I’ll take responsibility for saving you, at least.”
Alba doesn’t have any attachment to this remote mountain area. He is living with Sheria, who is a saintess, and he knows she will have to return to the church someday. Surely, this letter must be related to that.
So, if Sheria wishes for it, going along with her wouldn’t be so bad.
Yes, the only thing Alba dislikes is going to the academy.
‘Rather, it’s a man’s nature to spend his time with a cute girl.’
If he got involved with a capture target, there’s no helping it. He might as well reap all the benefits.
The current Alba had no thoughts other than being honest about such desires.
“Hehe, that’s great! I want to be with you too, Alba!”
With the affirmation, Sheria wore a delighted smile.
And she immediately thrust the letter she had just opened in front of Alba.
In the letter, the words “Invitation to Clearana Royal Academy” were written—
‘Huh? Wait a minute, this… this name…’
Isn’t this the same place where the original storyline of ‘Clearana Fantasy’ took place?
Alba’s forced smile wouldn’t go away easily as he read the contents of the letter.
‘Let’s calm down. I’ve been sweating a lot since earlier, maybe I’ll take a shower and then—’
Just as he was about to head back to the cabin… Sheria firmly stopped Alba’s arm with a force that seemed to say “I won’t let you escape.”
“Just a moment, miss. I was about to take a refreshing morning shower—”
“Let’s go to the academy together, Alba!”
“Noooooo!”
This is the tale of a young boy who was reborn as a villain.
A being that was supposed to disappear from the stage is (forcibly) made to stand in the spotlight once again, in this story.
