- Chapter 63: Incarnation of Violence
The orc, which appeared to be a special variant, thrust its sword into Norn-nee-san’s abdomen.
It was a fatal wound. When such a large weapon tears open a hole in the abdomen, humans like me who can’t use healing magic would definitely die.
…Of course, that would be the case if it were an ordinary person who got stabbed.
“——Bugoh⁉”
The special variant orc that had delivered the thrust widened its eyes. What the orc was staring at was its own sword—or rather, Norn-nee-san’s abdomen where it should have pierced through.
It must have put considerable force into it, as the hand gripping the sword was trembling violently.
However, unfortunately for the orc, its sword could not penetrate Norn-nee-san’s abdomen. On the contrary, it was completely blocked by just a piece of fabric. Nee-san was unharmed.
“Surely… you’re not telling me that was your full power?”
Without even pushing the sword away, Norn-nee-san muttered quietly. Hearing her voice, the orc’s body shuddered greatly.
“Guoh!”
The orc hurriedly jumped backward. It put distance between itself and Norn-nee-san.
In contrast, Norn-nee-san didn’t pursue the orc and simply stared straight at it. Her eyes held an ice-like sharpness.
If I were the one being stared at by her like that, it would be cold enough to make me feel fear.
“This is in front of Luka, you know? At least show me enough power to be entertaining. Otherwise… I’ll kill you quickly.”
“!?”
Norn-nee-san released killing intent. The orc reflexively raised its sword in guard. But it couldn’t step forward any further. It was reluctant to enter Norn-nee-san’s range and couldn’t move easily.
It was Norn-nee-san who grew impatient with this situation.
Without even drawing her sword from its sheath, she took one step—leaving sound behind. By the time I noticed, she was standing right in front of the orc.
“I’m going to punch you now. Please defend.”
Without waiting for a reply or reaction, Norn-nee-san clenched her fist. She threw a punch with her left hand just like that.
Norn-nee-san’s attack wasn’t based on martial arts. It was just putting force into a fist and thrusting it forward.
In other words, it was just a plain punch without any technique whatsoever. But the orc that took that hit couldn’t defend in time and was blown away by the tremendous impact.
Mowing down the surrounding trees and creating thunderous noise, it disappeared more than fifty meters backward.
“To not even be able to defend properly… I’m truly disappointed in the orc species. It might have been better to capture a dragon alive instead.”
“Ahaha, dragons aren’t creatures you can find just anywhere, Nee-san.”
“Wouldn’t that be far better than having time wasted by orcs? I hope it didn’t die from that one hit…”
Saying this, she kicked off the ground. She went to chase after the orc she had blown away.
I followed behind her. We quickly found the fallen orc.
“Ah… this is no good. It died instantly.”
The orc lying beneath the fallen trees had a hole in its abdomen and wasn’t moving at all. It was definitely dead.
“Mmm… disappointing. I fought an orc for the first time in a while, but even a special variant is only this much?”
“It was no match for Nee-san. Anyway—”
“!”
Stop.
Both Nee-san and I froze at the same time.
Something was nearby. Something with enormous energy. It had suddenly appeared close by.
“What was that just now…?”
“It seems to be an enemy. Good, there appears to be an opponent worth fighting.”
Norn-nee-san and I glanced in the same direction. There, one orc stood.
In appearance, it was a special variant orc. I was impressed that there was still one remaining, but then I noticed something off.
The orc that Nee-san and I found was a special variant, but it had even more unusual characteristics.
Namely, mysterious patterns running across its body. Eerie patterns that the orc we had just defeated didn’t have were surfacing on its body. Its complexion was also poor. It was bleeding even though nothing had happened to it.
Overall, it was a creepy orc. But since we found it, we’ll subjugate it.
“Watch carefully, Luka. This opponent is quite formidable.”
“Enough for Nee-san to say that?”
“Yes. It has far more magical power than that corpse over there. Fufu… it seems I’ll be able to use my strength for the first time in a while.”
The moment she said that, both the orc and Nee-san disappeared simultaneously. Immediately after, an explosion echoed.
“Guh!”
I was nearly blown away by the tremendous impact. I barely managed to withstand it by putting strength into my legs.
What just happened was merely the aftershock created when Nee-san and the orc clashed. Even so, it destroyed the surrounding terrain like a violent storm.
How surprising. I never imagined there was an orc so close by that could fight Norn-nee-san on equal terms. Thinking about it normally, if Nee-san hadn’t been the one to face it, the town would have suffered considerable damage. It’s a powerful enemy that even I would struggle against.
“You look quite pale, don’t you? If you want to run, I won’t chase you. Please decide.”
“Gu, OOOOOOOOO‼”
Rejecting Nee-san’s words. The orc clenched its fist tightly and struck at Nee-san. Nee-san used her arm as a shield to defend.
“I see. That’s unfortunate. I wanted to fight you at full health.”
Looking somewhat sad, Nee-san’s eyebrows drooped. Following that, aura more than twice as strong as before erupted from Nee-san’s body. The ground cracked in sync with the aura release.
The orc lost its footing just from the aftershock of Nee-san’s aura. Not missing that opening, Nee-san delivered a devastating body blow.
The orc was blown far into the distance, carving through all the surrounding terrain and objects.
