The Story Where I, the Strongest Mercenary, Was Reincarnated as a Bullied Introverted High School Student ~ When I Was Freely Enjoying My School Life, for Some Reason the Girls Around Me Started Glancing at Me~ - Chapter 34&35
Chapter 34: Classmates Are Shocked
Seeing Dojima and the three gals making fun of Char, my fake girlfriend, Yamashiro, who had been watching quietly, angrily slammed her hand against her desk.
“W-wait a minute! Fushimi’s girlfriend has nothing to do with this, right?”
“What? You were making fun of her too, Momoka.”
“I only warned that girl that she should stay away from Fushimi! You guys are the ones who started making fun of his girlfriend.”
“What’s wrong with that? She’s actually pale like a shut-in and ugly enough to hide her face with her hair.”
“That’s not okay!”
When Yamashiro got worked up about something, the gals suddenly grinned.
“Ah, I see~ Come to think of it, Momoka was the first one to fall for Fushimi~”
“You were the one who would approach and talk to Fushimi whenever you saw him~”
“That’s right, your expression was totally different from usual, it was funny~”
…Yamashiro had fallen for Fushimi? That was strange. Yamashiro had approached him with the intention of deceiving Fushimi Jinta from the start. At least, that’s what Fushimi Jinta had believed.
“W-well, I was interested because I liked Fushimi’s face, but I didn’t think he was the type to say such horrible things, so I don’t care anymore. If you guys want to date him, go ahead.”
When Yamashiro said that, the gals giggled again and started talking to me.
“Fushimi always had this loner image, but he was actually working out.”
“That girlfriend must have been around since then, right? Loners getting along with each other?”
“But it’s okay, I’ll turn Jinta into a popular guy!”
Saying that, she clung to my arm again.
What the hell was this “loner” and “popular” stuff anyway? If anything, I was a “mercenary-type”.
Ding dong ding dong.
Just as I was about to shake them off, the bell rang. Yamashiro also let out a big sigh and sat down in her seat.
Then Kotone Miyuki, the new female teacher in a tracksuit, walked briskly into the classroom with the attendance book and stood at the teacher’s desk. She got straight to the point.
“You guys, there’s a transfer student coming today. Come in and introduce yourself.”
She called out in her usual masculine tone while radiating a dignified atmosphere.
Dojima and my fellow classmates, who had been told that my girlfriend was a “gloomy ugly girl”, focused on the front door with thin smiles.
…And then Char entered through the front door of the classroom.
Golden hair swaying gracefully in the breeze that swept through the classroom, her delicate body and beautiful eyes were so stunning that it became impossible to distinguish between reality and fantasy.
“Nice to meet you, I came from France. I’m Charlotte Stanley.”
A lovely voice that sounded like it was dubbed by some popular voice actress echoed through the silent classroom.
Chapter 35: Getting Back At Those Who Made Fun Of Her
With the appearance of the blonde beautiful transfer student, Dojima and his followers started chattering.
“…I-is that Fushimi’s girlfriend?”
“No way… she’s a foreigner?”
“A-and she’s super cute!”
“She’s like an angel… she’s really a real human, right?”
Against the confused atmosphere in the classroom, homeroom teacher Kotone-sensei slammed the attendance book on the teacher’s desk.
“You guys, I understand how you feel, but stop making noise! She may be fluent in Japanese, but she just arrived in Japan recently. You’ll scare her! I’ll knock you all down, you damn brats!”
You’re the scariest one here, sensei. While Kotone-sensei looked dignified and beautiful, she always wore a tracksuit and had such an intimidating aura that she was feared more than Dojima. Her language was so hopelessly bad it was like she’d been raised by wild dogs in the slums with threats as lullabies, and her eyes looked dead, probably from overwork. It was surprising that she was actually a Japanese language teacher.
The classroom calmed down a bit after Kotone-sensei’s scolding, but the students were still whispering.
“Is that really Fushimi’s girlfriend?”
“No way, there’s no way a loner like Fushimi would…”
“Hey, isn’t that voice the same one we heard before the exhibition?”
“Does that mean she’s really the same person as that gloomy girl!?”
To the three confused gals, Kanzaki, Mita, and Serizawa, Char smiled sweetly.
“I listened to your advice and cut my bangs short. How is it? Did this ‘ugly gloomy girl’ become a little better?”
Char was just as nasty as these three gals. Walking gracefully past the stunned gals, Char sat in the seat prepared next to me.
“Well then, let’s take attendance.”
And so Kotone-sensei took attendance in the classroom that now had one more student. Several students were so mesmerized by Char’s appearance that they didn’t notice their names being called and were marked absent.
After finishing the sloppy attendance check, Kotone-sensei closed the attendance book and tucked it under her arm.
“Now, normally, this would be my special first period class… but actually, right after I interviewed Charlotte in the staff room this morning, the computer started acting up. So it’s self-study time, behave yourselves in the classroom.”
Of course, this naturally couldn’t be a coincidence. It was obvious that Char had launched some kind of cyber attack on the staff room computer. Char elegantly waved goodbye with a smile from her seat, showing no remorse as Kotone-sensei left the classroom scratching her head roughly.
When they realized Kotone-sensei was gone, the classroom erupted and students rushed to Char’s seat regardless of gender. Since my seat was next to hers, my 360-degree view was filled with high school students.
“Is it true you came from France!?”
“Your Japanese is really good!”
“Are you maybe a model!?”
“Do you do Insta?”
Questions from curious classmates simultaneously attacked Char. Even Prince Shotoku would have lost it at this level. However, a roar that would blow away such sparrow chatter came from the seats by the hallway.
“You guys! There’s something more important you need to ask than that!”
The one who stood up from his seat saying that was Dojima. What this guy was curious about was naturally—
“Fushimi said he was dating you, but that’s a lie, right? There’s no way you’d date a guy like him, right?”
Incidentally, I had never once said I was dating Char myself. The gals had just decided that on their own. However, Char, who was naturally coordinating our story, answered as if it were obvious.
“Yes, I’m dating Jinta.”
“Whaaaat!?”
A scream worthy of the description echoed through the classroom from all the students. However, they probably didn’t want to admit that the loner they’d been bullying had such a girlfriend. Several male students muttered in trembling voices.
“E-even if you’re dating, it’s just like going on a date or something like that, right?”
“Y-yeah. That’s right.”
Char smiled with a devilishly seductive grin.
“Fufu, Jinta and I are in love. Naturally, we’ve done everything there is to do.”
While saying such things, Char grabbed my hand from the neighboring seat and intertwined our fingers like matching seashells. She then rapidly appealed our relationship to those around us with lies full of things to nitpick.
“Jinta and I have spent many nights together with whispers of love flying between us.”
(…Actually, the only things flying were bullets.)
“We put our ears to each other’s chests and confirmed each other’s explosive heartbeats many times.”
(…Actually, what we were exploding were enemy bases and such.)
“I was embraced many times. Jinta moves so intensely, it’s quite something.”
(…I certainly embraced her many times, like carrying her in my arms on the battlefield. Since we were also fighting, you could say I moved intensely.)
Like spinning sugar into cotton candy, Char sweetly and dramatically described our relationship.
The female students around us blushed and got excited with squeals, while the male students glared at me with the intensity of shedding bloody tears.
