The Story Where I, the Strongest Mercenary, Was Reincarnated as a Bullied Introverted High School Student ~ When I Was Freely Enjoying My School Life, for Some Reason the Girls Around Me Started Glancing at Me~ - Chapter 32&33
Chapter 32: Getting Revenge on the Bullies
I threw one counter punch timed with Dojima’s attack.
“Ugh!?”
When I hit his wide-open stomach, Dojima let out an ugly sound and fell forward.
“…Huh?”
The classmates who had been happily filming just moments before froze with their mouths agape as if caught in a photograph. Well, of course. After all, the massive Dojima was on his knees in front of Fushimi Jinta, the weak loser loner who had only ever been beaten up before.
Rising diaphragm, shallow breathing, limbs gradually freezing and becoming immobile. The body blow accurately delivered by me, a combat professional, changed Dojima’s complexion to a pale blue.
“Oh my, what’s wrong? Are you okay?”
“You… you bastard… what the hell… did you…”
“Self-defense. At this rate, everyone’s going to film your pathetic state, you know?”
When I taunted him, Dojima stood up with his complexion still poor.
“Aaaargh! Die!”
And he swung at me again in a completely vulnerable state. I hit Dojima’s stomach again. Last time I’d targeted the diaphragm, but this time I aimed for the stomach. It was less conspicuous than the face, and more importantly, this guy should suffer gradually to learn the pain of being hit.
“Urp, blegh.”
Dojima vomited with an agonized expression. He was already unable to breathe properly, and now got repeated hard blows to the abdomen. Dojima was currently in a state equivalent to drowning on land.
I picked up Dojima’s school jacket and threw it at him, just like what had been done to Fushimi Jinta the other day.
“Here, there’s a rag on the ground. Use it.”
“…Ugh. Damn it…”
“What’s wrong? This is supposed to be a rag according to you guys, right?”
Dojima screamed desperately while breaking out in cold sweat all over his face.
“Hey! Don’t just stand there watching, kill this guy! Use ‘that’!”
Hearing Dojima’s order, several of Dojima’s lackeys in the class brought out iron pipes they had hidden on the rooftop. They had probably planned to use them when executing me. Armed with weapons, they attacked me.
“Take this!”
“Being able to use tools makes you about as smart as monkeys. However, you don’t seem to know how to use them at all.”
I deflected the iron pipe attacks with flowing movements and turned them against each other. I read their monotonous attacks, dodged, made them hit each other, kicked up to steal the iron pipes, and dropped them at my feet. By the time all of Dojima’s lackeys were rolling on the floor, the iron pipes were neatly arranged at my feet like organized tableware.
“I don’t know where you got these from, but make sure to return them properly. There are households where water that should have flowed didn’t flow because of you guys.”
After lightly brushing off the dust on me, I picked up my school bag and shouldered it. I was receiving stares from all of my classmates, who looked stunned.
Yawning as I walked leisurely past them, I headed alone toward the classroom.
Chapter 33: The Transfer Student is a Beautiful Girl
“Hey, isn’t Fushimi kind of scary…?”
“That guy moved like he was in an action movie.”
“W-was he always that strong at fighting?”
“He might have been kind of cool…”
When my other classmates returned to the classroom, they were gossiping freely while glancing at me. Not caring about that, I fiddled with my phone to contact Char. Apparently the interview went fine. However, it seemed like there was some kind of trouble…
“I had a teacher show me around the school, but… the male students doing morning practice kept hitting on me. The female students kept hugging me one after another too… Japan really is the kind of country Ami-san said it was.”
So that’s what happened after all. Also, she was being deceived by Ami. Japan didn’t have a culture of greeting with hugs. Char would just have to give up and think of it as a beauty tax. As I was thinking that, another message came.
“This is really troublesome as it is, so I’m sorry but I’m going to need Ryuji’s cooperation.”
“What kind of cooperation?”
When I sent a message asking, there was a gap of several minutes before a reply came.
“Pretend I’m your girlfriend.”
(…)
Seriously? Well, I didn’t mind if Char was okay with it. Did she want to avoid getting hit on so badly that she’d become my fake girlfriend?
When I replied “Got it”, it showed as read and there were no more messages after that. Since morning homeroom would start soon, she was probably moving toward the classroom. When I put my phone on my desk, girls had gathered around my desk without me noticing.
“Ah, he finally looked our way~”
“Hey~ who were you texting? That blonde gloomy girlfriend~?”
“Maybe you’ve been training for your girlfriend? Is that why you got so strong~?”
These three girls laughing and chattering were the gals I’d met in front of the international exhibition. Kanzaki Naoko, Mita Sarina, Serizawa Rin. Yamashiro didn’t join them and was looking this way from her seat with a somewhat complicated expression. Dojima was listening to our exchange while glaring, holding his still-aching stomach with his hand.
When I ignored them, they clung to my arms from both sides and pressed their chests against me.
“I mean, like, this whole thing made me see you in a new light~”
“That’s right! Don’t go out with some plain girl like that, go out with me instead~!”
“Wait a minute! I’m better!”
“Then let’s secretly date~ It’ll be fine as long as that girl doesn’t find out.”
They chattered noisily while giving me seductive smiles. These girls didn’t actually like me. It was just typical thinking for stupid delinquent girls. They probably wanted to feel like they were in a strong position by dating a strong guy. It was obvious they were coming to me because they’d realized I was stronger at fighting than Dojima.
(I can definitely understand why Char would want to be in a fake relationship even with someone like me… how annoying.)
“She’s transferring into this class starting today. So I can’t date you guys.”
I shook off their arms and waved my hands as if telling them to go away.
“Heh~ That girl’s transferring in today~?”
“Got it! Then I’ll be nice to that girl too!”
“That’s right, it’s tragic for a girl if she can’t get into a friend group~”
“A gloomy transfer student like that might not make it~”
“Besides, she doesn’t match with Jinta!”
They said that while laughing as if making threats. Well, these girls had only seen Char disguised in plain clothes.
“She hides behind her hair and can’t even show her face, right?”
“I bet she’ll learn to know her place~”
“That’s right, that girl will break up with you eventually.”
Were these girls thinking of bullying Char to make her break up with me? What reckless idiots.
Dojima, who had been watching me being pestered by these girls with a displeased expression, heard this conversation and grinned as he spoke to me.
“Your girlfriend’s coming to our class?”
Since he couldn’t beat me in a fight, he probably wanted to humiliate me in some other way to preserve his pride. I ignored him and looked at the news on my phone. It seemed like foreign crime was increasing in Japan too, just like Ella had said.
“Hehe, I’m looking forward to seeing what kind of gloomy ugly girl shows up.”
Dojima said that and laughed loudly with his lackeys.
