Chapter 32: I Want to Take a Bath Together!!
While I was relieved to have cleared up the misunderstanding between the two of them…
“I’d truly love to talk with you both more,”
Shirayuri-senpai said, continuing her words.
After glancing up at the sky, which had begun to darken, she turned back to me and spoke.
“But it’s already late today, so let’s save it for another time.”
“That’s true. I understand,” I nodded in agreement.
Shirayuri-senpai politely bowed her head toward me.
“Once again, Ritsu, thank you very much for today.”
“No, I should be the one thanking you. I had a great time spending the day with you, Shirayuri-senpai.”
When I expressed my gratitude, Shirayuri-senpai lifted her head and smiled warmly. She then turned to face An.
“An, I apologize for causing such a misunderstanding today. I’ll do my best to ensure this doesn’t happen again. And if you don’t mind, I’d love the chance to spend time together again in the future.”
“…Yes! I’d be happy to!”
Whether it was due to nervousness or something else, An replied cheerfully but with a slight pause.
Then, Shirayuri-senpai added,
“And also…”
She turned toward me, stepping closer until the distance between us shrank. Then, in a whisper near my ear, she said,
“Earlier, Ritsu, you kindly mentioned that I’m the type of person who would drive a younger, tired individual home. But, you see… I don’t allow men in the enclosed space of my car, much less go out with them, except for one person—Ritsu, you’re the only exception.”
“Eh…?”
What did she mean by that? Before I could even put it into words, Shirayuri-senpai entered the black limousine waiting in front of us.
“Well then, I’ll take my leave for today.”
With that, the limousine door automatically closed after she spoke, and the vehicle quietly drove away from the scene.
Up until a moment ago, I was sitting in that luxurious car. It still doesn’t feel real. But for now…
“Let’s head inside.”
“Okay!”
I entered the house with An, who nodded at my words. As I took off my shoes in the entryway, I noticed the shopping bags in An’s hands and spoke up.
“Sorry, I completely forgot you were carrying the shopping bags. Were they heavy?”
“Nope! They’re not that heavy, so it’s fine!”
“Good to hear.”
Still, I didn’t want to make my little sister carry the bags any longer. Once we both removed our shoes, I took the bags from her hands.
As I did so, something about An’s earlier words struck me as odd, and I voiced my thoughts.
“Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but… when you said ‘that’s fine,’ does that mean there’s something else bothering you?”
“…!”
An let out a startled sound at my question. After a brief pause, she nodded and spoke in a small voice.
“Yeah… Seeing you actually spend time with another woman today, I could vividly imagine what it would feel like if you got a girlfriend…”
Her voice grew quieter and quieter, making it hard to catch everything she was saying. But one thing was clear—she wasn’t feeling herself. I decided to ask directly.
“An, is there something you want me to do for you?”
“Something I want you to do?”
“Yeah. If there’s anything you want, just tell me, no matter what it is.”
“Anything…?”
“Yeah, anything at all.”
When I said that, An’s face lit up, her eyes sparkling as she replied enthusiastically.
“Then… I want to take a bath together with you, Onii-chan!!”

Chapter 33: Just a Little Longer
“A… a bath!?”
I let out a startled cry at the completely unexpected words from An.
…Even though we’re not related by blood.
An and I were raised almost like siblings, so there was a time when we used to take baths together… but that was a long time ago.
“We’re in high school now. There’s no way we can take a bath together—”
“But, Onii-chan, you said you’d do anything!”
“Th-That’s true, but…”
Still, who could have predicted she’d suggest taking a bath together!
That said, it’s also true that An, who had been acting a bit down earlier, now seemed back to her usual self. If I flat-out refused to take a bath with her now, she might go back to being gloomy—or worse, even more than before.
While I was mulling over how to handle this situation, An paused briefly before speaking.
“…Hey. The reason you don’t want to take a bath with me—is it because I’m your sister?”
“Not because you’re my sister, exactly. It’s more because, even though you’re my sister, you’re still a high school girl.”
“…! Does that mean you see me as more than just a sister? Like… as a girl?”
“!?”
Her interpretation wasn’t completely off, given how my answer might have sounded.
But if I nodded here, it was clear she’d think less of me.
…Honestly, if I’m being truthful, just a little—really, just a little—I’ve started to see her differently. An has grown more feminine compared to when we were younger.
But that’s not something I could ever admit out loud.
So, almost reflexively, I opened my mouth and said,
“Of course not! I would never see you, my sister An, in that way!”
Not to mention, I couldn’t even if I wanted to.
I added that silently to myself. At least with this, I thought I’d avoided being despised by her.
Or so I thought, right up until—
“…!”
An’s eyes widened. Then, with a somewhat angry tone, she said,
“Then, take a bath with me!”
“What—!? H-How does it lead to that!?”
“If you don’t see me as anything more than a sister, then there’s no reason not to, right?”
“That’s a completely different matter, isn’t it?”
“It’s the same thing!”
An’s firm declaration left no room for argument. She grabbed my arm and began shaking me vigorously.
“Onii-chan! Say you’ll take a bath with me!”
“I-I’m telling you, there’s no way I can!”
“There’s no such thing as ‘can’t’! I want to take a bath with you right now. All you have to do is agree—”
“!?”
As An leaned toward me, she lost her balance, her hand slipping off my shirt.
Reacting instinctively, I reached out and caught her, wrapping my arm around her back to steady her.
“Are you okay, An?”
I momentarily forgot the argument and focused entirely on her, asking with concern.
An nodded faintly from within my arms and replied,
“Y-Yeah… Sorry, and thank you, Onii-chan.”
“Don’t worry about it. As long as you’re okay—”
Just as I was about to let her go—
“Wait!”
She stopped me with her voice.
“What is it?”
Still holding her, I froze and asked.
Looking up at me, her cheeks were flushed red. Her expression, though, seemed oddly happy.
Then, still with that expression, she spoke in a soft, sweet tone.
“Onii-chan… I… just a little longer, like this.”
