The S-Class Beautiful Sisters at My New School Somehow Got Super Attached to Me and Ended Up Becoming Yandere Without Me Even Realizing It - Chapter 63-64
Chapter 63
❤︎
“…Already lunchtime?”
Falling asleep while binging videos and waking up to it being noon… man, it’s been a while since that happened.
Ever since I met Tendou-kun, even on days off my mornings have been early, and yesterday I was probably just wiped out from trying to cook something I’m not used to.
My face is definitely a total mess right now.
Hair’s all crazy and messy too.
No way I can let Tendou-kun see me like this.
I checked LINE… nothing, huh.
He could at least send me something—good night, good morning, whatcha doing, anything.
Still… I’ve got this kinda weird, uneasy feeling.
It’s because of Tendou-kun’s novel.
I’m not complaining or anything, but as his co-author, I think it’s totally normal to at least ask what he was thinking when he wrote that.
“…No answer.”
I tried calling, but it didn’t connect.
Sent a LINE too, but no read receipt.
Well, it’s Sunday. Maybe he’s busy with something, or maybe he’s just lazing around like me.
It’s almost lunchtime.
I’m hungry… maybe I should just go buy something… wait, no, that’s not it.
Times like this are exactly when I need to practice.
I should make my own food.
Little efforts like that are what actually pay off.
“Sorry, Mom.”
I stepped out of my room and headed to the kitchen, saying it quietly toward my absent mom.
She’s always warned me—absolutely do not step foot in the kitchen.
The reason being, obviously, that if I ever do, every utensil and ingredient ends up completely destroyed and unusable.
But that’s old news.
I’ve been reborn thanks to Tendou-kun’s grandma’s cooking lessons.
So I’m not gonna make the same mistakes again.
“Guess I’ll try making that omurice she taught me last time.”
Cooking used to feel like actual torture, but now it’s fun.
Love really does change people, huh. So amazing.
Feeling kinda good today, so maybe I’ll make some for Yuzuki too.
Go ahead, be shocked when you taste Tendou-kun-approved omurice.
Now that I’ve got no more weaknesses, I’m not your rival anymore.
“Oh right, is Yuzuki still sleeping?”
No way she’s out on a date with Tendou-kun… nah, they just went out recently, so probably not.
She’s probably just bowling all alone and feeling lonely, right?
♤
“…So, a date?”
I heard that phrase a lot lately, but hearing it right now caught me so off guard I just repeated it back.
“…It’s not like the last one was a real date or anything.”
“Huh, really?”
“I mean… yeah, but also kinda not? A-anyway, last time I just dragged you around doing whatever I wanted. Look, a date’s supposed to be both people showing each other places they wanna go, right? And you still haven’t taken me anywhere you wanted to go yet.”
Yuzuki-san’s face turned bright red and she tried to hide it, and her voice was shaking just a little too.
Okay yeah, when someone straight-up calls it a “date” like that, it gets embarrassing for me too, so I get why she’s reacting like this.
“…Then lemme take you to a place I’ve always wanted to check out.”
“…Okay. But places you went with Mizuki are off-limits, got it?”
“Why?”
“B-because then it doesn’t count! I-I mean, this is kind of a continuation of last time, right? Going somewhere you’ve already been recently wouldn’t make sense.”
A continuation of last time.
So basically, this is still part of the “looking for novel material” date plan.
Hearing that actually made me relax a little.
“Yeah, you’re right. Okay, there’s this place I’ve never been to but I’ve always wanted to go. Let’s head there.”
“Sounds good! Yeah, then I’m done with bowling for today.”
She hit the checkout button, then quickly swapped her shoes back.
“Come on, hurry up!”
“W-wait, hold on a sec!”
I rushed to take my shoes off too, ran to the counter, and thanks to Yuzuki-san’s discount coupon, the bill ended up pretty cheap today.
After we left the bowling alley, the place we headed to was this big old used bookstore that had been on my mind ever since we moved here.
—
Chapter 64
“Whoa, it’s way bigger inside than it looks. Yuzuki-san, you been here before?”
“First time. I knew it existed, but the outside looks so run-down.”
The building looked kinda like a ruin from the outside, but once we stepped in, the ceiling was super high and the big bookshelves were packed tight with old books.
“Man, so many books. Wonder if Mizuki’s ever come here?”
“No idea. But she likes brand-new ones, so probably not—she doesn’t seem like the used bookstore type.”
“Yeah, last time she dragged me all the way to the next town over too, so maybe. But I should tell her about this place sometime.”
“Always Mizuki this, Mizuki that…”
“Huh?”
“Nothing. Anyway, since we’re here, let’s buy something to take home. And while we’re at it, show me some stuff I might like to read too.”
“Yeah, let’s walk around.”
The customers were few and far between, and there was only one clerk—definitely not what you’d call a lively shop. As we wandered around the whole place, my eyes caught on one book tucked away on a back shelf.
“This one… we used to have it at home way back.”
“It’s pretty old. What’s it about?”
“It’s a mystery, but it was easy to read and I got totally hooked on it. Not super famous or anything, but I still remember it.”
“Hmm. Only a hundred yen, so I’ll grab this one, I guess.”
“Then I’ll… oh, wait, the one I’ve been curious about forever is on sale. This one’s mine.”
We took our two books up to the register, and together they came to just two hundred yen.
“Here, lemme—”
For some reason, I pulled out my wallet, but Yuzuki-san pushed past me and paid anyway.
“Hey, no, I got this.”
“I invited you, so it’s on me. Plus, you gave me a book as a souvenir last time, right? This is payback.”
“But still—”
“It’s fine, it’s fine. More importantly, lend me that book when you’re done, okay? I wanna read it too.”
“Yeah. Then… can I borrow the one I gave you last time? I’ve been wanting to check it out.”
“Of course. I’ll bring it to school tomorrow.”
We each left the store holding one book.
It was right around lunchtime, so we were talking about maybe grabbing something to eat before heading back when Yuzuki-san checked her phone and went, “Wait, Mizuki says she made lunch.”
“Whoa, she’s really going for it.”
“Oh yeah—did you eat Mizuki’s cooking yesterday?”
“Yeah. It looked kinda like a fail, but it actually tasted good.”
“No way. That girl wrecked the kitchen so many times at home they banned her from cooking, and now this? Is she gonna be okay?”
“Haha, it’s fine. So… guess we should call it a day here?”
“…That little—ugh. Fine, let’s wrap it up for today.”
Yuzuki-san looked kinda bummed the whole way back—like she really didn’t wanna go home to Mizuki’s cooking. When we split up, she muttered, “Aww man, I really felt like a burger…” but she had this kinda resigned vibe anyway.
Then, on my way home alone in the afternoon, it suddenly hit me.
“…Guess I won’t see either of them again today, huh.”
I felt kinda lonely.
Lately we’ve been together after school, on days off—pretty much all the time.
I never really hung out with friends much before, and I never felt like it was a problem, but…
Being alone is actually pretty lonely, huh.
I always thought being with someone would feel cramped and annoying, but…
“…Wish tomorrow would hurry up and get here already.”
♡
“I’m home—”
“Welcome back, Yuzuki. Lunch is just ready, so come eat.”
*sniff sniff* “…Doesn’t smell burnt, at least.”
“Excuse you. Go ahead and enjoy the omurice that Tendou-kun raved about—prepare to be amazed.”
Like, what do you even think Tendou-kun is? I kept that comeback in my head only.
I kicked off my shoes and headed to the kitchen. There were two plates set across from each other on the table.
“Here, omurice. Looks yummy, right?”
“…Omurice?”
What was sitting there looked like scrambled eggs that got scrambled even more, then somehow dropped on the floor during plating and piled back up into a lumpy mess.
“I-I’m still practicing the egg-rolling part, but the taste is good, okay?”
“Girl, no way this tastes good.”
“Try it before you complain.”
“…Fine, since you went through the trouble of making it, I’ll eat.”
I sat down in front of what could barely be called food, clasped my hands, squirted some ketchup on, and nervously brought a bite to my mouth.
“…Hm?”
“W-what? Did I mix up salt and sugar?”
“No… actually, this might be kinda good?”
The simple flavor of the ketchup rice somehow went weirdly well with the messy, scrambled-up eggs.
It tasted kinda nostalgic, but also kinda new—like a strange mix.
But… not bad at all.
“See? Told you! Hehe, I win.”
“Who were you even competing with?”
“This just proves how serious I am about Tendou-kun. Got it? I’m definitely not losing to you, Yuzuki.”
Watching Mizuki puff up all proud was kinda ridiculous, and I couldn’t help laughing.
“Hehe, okay, okay. But sorry—not giving up either. If you want Tendou-kun to like you, go win him over yourself.”
“That’s my line. Oh, and since you ate my cooking, can I ask you one little favor?”
“If it’s ‘don’t hang out with Tendou-kun,’ then no.”
“I’m not that mean. Hey… is bowling actually fun?”
“What? Why the sudden interest? You always turned me down when I asked.”
“I just got curious all of a sudden. Hey, can you take me bowling next time?”
“I mean… sure, I guess. But you’re just trying to get closer to Tendou-kun, right?”
“So what if I am?”
“…Ugh, whatever, fine. But don’t expect me to teach you anything.”
“Hmph, I don’t need you to. Then next time, let’s all three go—you, me, and Tendou-kun.”
“Yeah, yeah.”
Man, Mizuki really goes all in on everything—she doesn’t care what it takes. I can’t beat that.
After I finished the omurice and washed the dishes, I went back to my room.
Later, when Mom got home and started yelling at Mizuki, I thought “serves you right” to myself and spread out the book I bought today on my bed.
