- The person who used to hate me, suddenly turned into a yandere!
- Chapter 4- Aoki\'s Pov:
My name is Aoki Hayama.
I am a middle-aged woman with a loving husband and a sweet daughter.
Since my husband has to stay mostly away due to the field of his work, I have majorly looked after our offspring since her childhood.
From a very early age, Mika became a lot aware of her surroundings and conscious of what she had to do and what to avoid.
I can confidently say that god has blessed us with this child who never developed any trait which could be counted as her bad side.
Everything was going fine. Mika had already finished her first year of high school without any kind of situation, which most parents are concerned about.
But in the second year of high school, I got to know a boy who lived in our neighborhood. Ryuuji Takuya.
I have known him for a little while since we often met in supermarket or might cross paths during the morning walk.
He is a good child. Well-mannered and someone who could be considerate toward strangers.
But one particular day, I came to know that he loved my daughter, and he wanted my help to pursue her.
I was flabbergasted and amused, too, to see that this boy had the guts to ask the girl’s parent for help so he could win over her daughter.
Naturally, I didn’t agree that easily. Only after he told me all the story and how much love he carries for my daughter, I came to realize what kind of fool in love he is.
Then what, I did what I felt good for my daughter. In this day and age, a fine young man like Ryuuji was rare and not to talk about; he was so responsible when it came to matters like these.
Slowly I came to realize that he would be best for being my future son-in-law, but there was a catch…
“Why do you care about him, mom?! He isn’t your child, but I am.”
Mika hated him for some reason, and on a particular night, she said something which I could have never expected from my daughter.
My gentle and lovable child said something so insensitive and rude to Ryuuji-kun regarding his parents that I felt whether I had taught her properly or not.
She spoke harshly about Ryuuji-kun’s parents.
First, I thought she was purposely saying such a thing to hurt Ryuuji-kun. I didn’t know why but Mika hates him a lot more than I thought.
For various seconds my mind went numb when I saw an expression on Ryuuji-kun’s face which I might never have saw making anyone of that age.
He was broken but still had a smile on his face.
After he left that night and Mika returned to her room, I realized that Mika might not be aware of Ryuuji-kun’s parent’s death.
With the amount of attention she pays to Ryuuji-kun, I became sure of this fact.
The following day I gave Mika a bento so she could apologize to Ryuu-kun properly and sort out her mistake by herself.
And fortunately, Mika also returned to normal as she accepted that what she said was harsh, and she would talk to him in school.
But in the afternoon, I became certain that things had gone significantly downhill from maybe the point of no return.
**Ding*Dong**
“Coming.”
Around twelve noon, the doorbell rang as I went to check who it was, only to get surprised at the end.
“R-Ryuu-kun? You didn’t go to school?”
From the other side stood Ryuuji-kun with slight dark circles under his eyes and red rashes at the corner, signifying that he had cried.
My heart clenched upon seeing this side of his which was completely contrary to his usual self.
He was smiling when I opened the door, but I knew he was forcing it.
“I am sorry, Hayama-san, to disturb you, but I have had this container with me since last week. The curry was extremely delicious, by the way.”
He tried to skim over it by saying everything in one go, but I noticed how he called me.
The boy who has called me Kaa-san more than Mika has done since childhood suddenly became so formal….I felt utterly disheartened about it.
But I didn’t have any way to stop him or console him since this matter had to be sorted out by my foolish daughter.
After she returned home, I decided that it would be better that I tell her about Ryuuji-kun rather than leave her on her own.
But I had a fear of telling her about it…
My fear was, what if Mika doesn’t react to Ryuuji’s truth? What if she acts like she doesn’t care about him even after knowing that he is an orphan?
Would I be able to forgive my daughter? Would my perspective toward my own child would change? Would it be my fault for such behavior of hers?
‘Even so, I have to do this.’
I had a lot of doubts that an adult shouldn’t have in this day and age.
But fortunately, Mika hasn’t changed. She is still my daughter, who knows how her words could affect people around her.
When I told her about Ryuuji, it felt like her life had been pulled out all at once, which made me worried too.
After she asked for my help with Ryuuji-kun, she started crying.
She wasn’t just shedding tears. She was crying like a child that had made a grave mistake, and what Mika did last night, her tears felt justified.
But I was getting a lot worried as I saw my daughter in that condition. I coaxed her for hours before she finally seemed to calm down a little.
“You okay now?”
Sitting on my lap, I patted her back, as she hugged me like this after so long.
‘I wish dear would have seen her like this~.’
“Mom…”
Without separating her face, Mika spoke in a muffled voice. Returning to her call, I just hummed as she continued.
“How can I possibly ask for forgiveness for what I have done.”
I was delighted to know that Mika was aware of what she did, but now it wasn’t time to feel happy since I had to support a drowning ship first.
“That’s the life, Mika. Nothing could injure someone more than words could. Once you break someone’s heart, you lose something meaningful in life. But it doesn’t mean you can’t do anything. There is always a way to ask for forgiveness. You have to take the step. So get up, go to his house and express your apology in the most genuine way. He might not forgive you, but you don’t have to lose hope. Just do your best and tell him how you feel, okay?”
Mika didn’t reply for quite a while as I told her the best course of action. I believe that communication is the most excellent means to resolve any misunderstanding, and so I suggested my daughter.
And seeing Mika getting up from my lap with a bright and determined smile on her face, I was convinced that…
“Don’t worry, mom. I’ve got this.”
….I am going to have grandchildren real soon~
