- Chapter 16- Sharing umbrella!
Weather forecast.
A tv show which comes on every morning around six for those who have work or want to go out to enjoy their day.
It takes around a minute or two to check whether today might rain or there will be perfect weather for a lovely date.
Yet, a school student, who should be most aware of the forecast, halted at their school entrance since they didn’t have an umbrella to shield them against the downpour.
Yes, Ryuuji Takuya is the one being described here.
‘Fuck…this is so gonna give me a headache tonight. ‘
Preparing himself to run all the way through the rain, Ryuuji wondered whether Mika had brought an umbrella. The fact that she gets instantly sick after getting drenched made him slightly worried, but soon his concerns disappeared.
“Should we go?”
As a familiar voice came from his left, Ryuuji saw a black umbrella spreading.
Looking toward her, Ryuuji found Mika’s expression completely normal even though she suggested something like sharing such an intimate space.
Ryuuji has long lost the curiosity to know why Mika was doing such things since he knew it would muddle his head, nothing more.
Shaking his head, he politely declined as he took out his jacket, preparing to drape it over and run as fast as he could.
“It’s okay, Mika-san. There won’t be much space under it, and since my house isn’t far away, I better make a run for it.”
Ryuuji expected her to at least ask once more, but to his utter surprise, she folded the umbrella before she brought her bag over to her bed, seemingly wanting to run just like him.
“Oi! What are you trying to do?”
Hearing his raised voice, Mika tilted her head cutely as she replied to what seemed obvious to her.
“We walk to school together, so isn’t it obvious that we go home together too? Come, let’s run.”
She was about to launch forward when Ryuuji held her wrist in a rigid grip, making the girl grin as she accomplished what she aimed.
“Okay, let’s share the umbrella. Seriously, when did you become so mischievous?”
Seeing the toothy smile, Ryuuji sighed as he took the umbrella from her before covering themselves under it.
“I was always naughty like this… it’s just I always hid this side of mine so you don’t hate me.”
“And now, do you want me to hate you?”
As the two stepped in the rain, the heavy droplets started to make noise over the umbrella as Ryuuji asked while glancing to his left.
Unlike him, Mika had her eyes entirely focused on him, alerting Ryuuji to be alert of his front so Mika doesn’t hit something.
In a bashful tone, Mika replied, much to Ryuuji’s surprise.
“No. On the contrary, I want to show all my side to Ryuu-kun, so he can fall once again for me~.”
Ryuuji’s feet halted, and simultaneously, Mika’s too, as she clearly understood the reason for such a reaction. But of course, she would play dense here.
“What happened, Ryuu-kun? Something you forgot?”
Ryuuji narrowed his gaze but seeing the innocence in Mika’s eyes, he soon resigned and continued walking forward.
____..
Walking under the rain made it difficult for them to talk, so Mika stayed silent and walked silently toward their home.
Their shoulders touched slightly whenever Mika tried to reposition herself under the cover. For some reason, even from such mere touches, she was feeling extremely embarrassed to the point her ear started heating up.
She never noticed, but Ryuuji was taller than her. She wasn’t short, slightly above the average height of 5’7. But Ryuuji was at least three to four inches taller.
His height wasn’t the only thing she noticed at the moment. Ryuuji’s natural scent, which seemed to be intensified due to the sweat he spent on the field, wafted her senses and increased the redness all over her face.
‘It’s addictive… ‘
Her stupor suddenly returned to reality when Ryuuji stood at a place before positioning her behind himself as a car splashed a puddle over him.
Mika’s eyes widened as she realized how in saving her, Ryuuji got all drenched.
“Why didn’t you put the umbrella in front!”
Taking out a dry towel from her bag, Mika wiped his face as she raised her voice in complaint and worry.
Ryuuji didn’t back away and let her do whatever she wanted while holding the umbrella over her all the time.
“I thought you might get wet in the rain…that’s why I didn’t remove the umbrella…”
Ryuuji’s reasoning made Mika even more amgry as she held his arm and started pulling him hurriedly toward her house.
“Come with me, right at this instance, before the cold gets you.”
Ryuuji, in a spur, didn’t notice when Mika pulled him inside her house and closed the door on his back. The first thing he received after entering was a dry towel, as he started rubbing up his hair with it.
He had never thought he would be coming back here so soon after he resolved never to interfere in her life again.
But the most shocked was Mika, who, despite being the one inviting Ryuuji into her house, seemed to forget that her mother had gone to meet her aunt.
Conclusion…
‘We are alone at home, right now…!!!! ‘
