“If you want to break that so-called ‘brainwashing’ that’s implemented in her, couldn’t Miss Dorothy just use magic and cure herself from the beginning?”
It may look like she’s calm, but Ms. Maguire is a person who gets very calm when she’s angry.
The students nearby quieted down, sensing the anger that she didn’t dare reveal openly.
Also, the space that was being used for the team competition was no longer present, it was back to the empty hall where nothing had happened.
“There was no brainwashing to begin with in the first place, Lute-san.”
The smile on Ms. Maguire’s face as she stepped in front of the restrained Lute was even more frightening than that of a strong demon.
Lute was still resisting her with a fierce gaze.
“If that’s the case, please give me a convincing explanation for this! There’s no way that Dorothy, my childhood friend, would fall in love with a random classmate! You think so too, don’t you!?”
“No, no, it’s definitely mutual love, look.”
Ms. Maguire pointed to a place where there was no more room for any error. The loser of the battle, Helios, was crying like a baby and surrendering himself completely to Dorothy.
Dorothy did not reject him, even when he was in such an unattractive state, instead she embraced him as he was, patting his head affectionately.
Mutual love.
The majority of the students were convinced with those words.
It was not brainwashing, but true love.
They believed in Lute’s words to defeat the evil being, but no one here had imagined that the battle would be so one-sided.
It was done completely on Lute’s own whim.
“Headmaster?”
A beautiful young man, Headmaster Lobelia, silently walked past Ms. Maguire and moved in front of Lute.
He had sharp eyes, a wrinkled brow, and looked as if he was angry all the time.
“The fact that you caused a problem cannot be erased, no matter what you do. You changed the purpose of the class, sent a student to the infirmary and drew the holy sword in the academy. You did all of that just to get a woman for yourself?”
“No, sir. I just wanted to save her! Why can’t you understand that?”
“You’re the one who doesn’t understand anything, you idiot!”
Lobelia’s shout was so dignified that it caused a crack in the ground beneath him.
The air was so tense that Lute couldn’t help but shut his mouth at those words.
“I would expel you, but I’m afraid that the reputation of the academy would be ruined if I expel a hero from the academy. However, you will be punished, and you will have to work for the trouble you have caused us, okay?”
He was strong enough to silence even the hero Lute.
The people watching were not safe either.
Some of the students couldn’t take it anymore and fell right on their bottoms.
“Blood Rising.”
The headmaster scoffed at Lute’s hostility, as if he still wasn’t convinced with his power.
“Still defying me, eh? I don’t really care that you glare at your superiors, hero. Then as your punishment——”
The headmaster then began using a spell, which began stripping the holy sword out of Lute’s body.
“AAAH!”
Lute was screaming in agonizing pain.
This is because the holy sword, which is naturally a part of the same body as the hero, was being forcibly removed, which is equivalent to offering a part of your soul to someone else. It wasn’t supposed to be possible to be removed without the authority of Lute himself.
It was inevitable that he would suffer in agony from the intense pain of having his skin torn off forcefully.
“Please stop it! Even if you are the headmaster of the school, this is not a permissible act!”
“T-That’s right, please stop.”
Emilia and Yukina came in to try and stop him.
After all, they were not someone who would do nothing when watching their loved one suffer in front of their eyes.
Despite that, the headmaster didn’t stop his hand from performing the ritual.
He was determined to strip the holy sword out of Lute’s body.
In response to this, they lost their patience and concentrated their magic power onto the headmaster, but Ms. Maguire did not allow them to do so.
“Also, any student involved in this matter will be punished accordingly, you won’t just receive a point deduction, so I do not recommend any further rule violations, okay?”
They all gulped after hearing that.
Yes, although they didn’t realize it, the students were also accomplices of Lute’s plan.
Since many of them agreed with Lute from the beginning itself, the punishment was applied to the majority of the students.
It was an inescapable decision that was authorized by the head of the school.
There were some who were unhappy, but there were also those who accepted the decision.
“So, I’ll keep this until you graduate.”
The headmaster, who had succeeded in removing it, stored the holy sword in an invisible space and then led Lute, who looked like a dying husk, out of the hall.
After seeing them off, the students were ordered by Ms. Maguire to return to their respective classrooms.
The students lined up and left the hall with cloudy expressions on their faces.
The only ones left were Ms. Maguire, Dorothy and Helios.
“Are you all right, Miss Dorothy?”
“No, I’m not alright at all… I can’t be alright with what he’s become now.”
“Yes, you’re right. But I can’t just leave it like this.”
As Helios surrendered himself to Dorothy, Ms. Maguire came to his side, she noticed that he was unconscious and tried to lend him a shoulder.
“Let’s take him to the infirmary. We’ll talk about this later.”
The “Team Battle Incident” came to a close.
After being brought to the infirmary, Helios was bedridden for several months in a comatose state.
Every day, Dorothy rushed to visit him right after class to check on his condition.
Still, many more days passed with no sign of him waking up.
Then, the fall of the second semester arrived.
The class received a report that Helios had woken up.
Despite being in the middle of class, Dorothy slipped out of the classroom and went straight to the infirmary.
The fact that he was awake was enough to fill her with unparalleled happiness.
A skinny young man found Dorothy and smiled at her.
‘Don’t give him a strong shock when he’s sick.’
So, trying her utmost hardest to suppress the urge to just jump and hug me, Dorothy gently squeezed his hand and told him in a voice trembling with happiness.
“Welcome back… Helios-kun…!!”
