Today’s the big date, but first we’re dropping off Mio-chan’s overnight bag at my place before meeting Momodani and the others at the station. And damn, Mio-chan is fired up today.

Eyeshadow, mascara, lipstick… she’s really gotten into makeup lately. Not that I’m complaining; it’s cute makeup, soft and pretty.

In the bad-ending route of Netohaza, Mio turns into a completely different person after getting stolen away. She comes back with this harsh, over-the-top look: electric-blue shadow, clumpy mascara, dark purple lips, black-mixed blood-red nails, bleached blonde hair, piercings everywhere, belly-button piercing glinting, cigarette dangling from a sneer in the official standing art… Just remembering it gives me makeup-related trauma. Rinko ends up with black lipstick and heavy purple shadow in that route too… Nope, nope, I’m about to yeet my monitor just thinking about it.

But the Mio-chan in front of me right now? Pure healing.

No shoulder-baring tops with plunging necklines, no shorts so tiny her ass cheeks hang out; nothing like that. She’s wearing a navy bouclé knit, a checkered fringed skirt, slightly platform sneakers, and a pastel-blue long coat.

Holy hell, she’s adorable. If she asks me to pick her outfits from now on, that’s basically telling a level-1 scrub to solo the final boss. Impossible difficulty.

Momodani and the crew are already there when we arrive. There’s a girl about Mio-chan’s height standing next to them; girlfriend vibes.

“Mio-senpai!”

“Nah, we just got here.”

Mio-chan’s eyes turned scary for a second. Can’t stare at other girls in front of my girlfriend… All three of them get super jealous; probably terrified of being abandoned. As if I ever. So I laced our fingers together, lover’s hold. Mio-chan’s cheeks went bright red, but right now she’s the only one in my eyes.

“Nice to meet you, Tennouji-senpai! I’m Makino Kana!”

“I’m the basketball team manager! Mio-senpai taught me everything from A to Z, so she’s my super-senpai!”

Everyone’s calling their parents. For some reason Mio-chan’s pretending to call too. She’s so considerate about little things like that.

“Shoma-san said he’ll drive us, so we’re good! Looking forward to it, Tennouji-senpai!”

Being called senpai still tickles. She’s cute, like a small animal.

“Tennouji-kun, I’m clear as well. Thank you for inviting me.”

“Sweet. Then let’s head out a bit early. Mio-chan, ready?”

What started as a double date turned into a triple date, but honestly? It’s gonna be a blast. Especially with Tenma-kun and Tamatsukuri-senpai around; those two are guaranteed entertainment.
